Knicks are just missing open shots right now. Heat are a bit late on their rotations.
-
Big Z: 5-6 from the field, 2-2 from the FT line, 12 points, 8 rebounds (4 offensive), and 1 block. In little over 7 minutes.
-
Yeah, but there are differences. In the Cavs game, Cavs shot 53.5% while the Lakers shot 36.5%. In the Heat game, Heat shot 44.3% and the Lakers 40.5%. Yet, the Heat won by 16 and the Cavs by 15.
-
Yeah, I agree. I just find it funny how if the Heat lost, people would be all over the Heat saying they can't beat the NBA elites, but since they won it's just like "oh, it's just a regular season game." Yes, it is just a regular season game, and a loss for the Heat would have been the same, but no one would have seen it that way. And isn't it weird that the Heat outrebounded the Lakers (by 1, but still)?

If losses don't mean anything in the regular season, then how come everyone on this site has been on the back of the Heat and how they can't beat the great teams in the NBA? I agree that this loss doesn't mean anything for the Lakers. They were embarassed last year as well. But come on, if losses don't mean anything in the regular season then apply that same logic to the Heat and not just the Lakers.

The biggest surprise this game is Bosh for me. 20 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block shooting 9-13 from the field. All in 24 minutes.
-
Well, the reason they are only down by 9 is that the Heat aren't shooting the ball that well either. 18-42 (43%) while the Lakers are shooting 16-44(36.4%). Jones has missed all his threes as well, hopefully he can knock down some big ones in the 2nd half. Miller hasn't come in the game yet, not sure if Spoelstra will play him or not.
-
Basically said what I wanted to say Nitro. Also, let's not forget Jones on the defensive end. I think he leads the Heat in charges or something. Should be interesting to see how Miller does on the defensive end.
-
Should be a great game, but this game doesn't really mean anything in terms of finding out the better team. As Real Deal said, Cleveland beat LA 102-87 last year and obviously they didn't make the Finals. It should be a fun game to watch though.

Yeah, Vince was out due to knee troubles. And Flash, did Jones take that shot due to a shot clock violation or did he just shoot it? I saw the game but don't remember why he would shoot that. I remember thinking wtf is he doing but wasn't sure if it was because of the shot clock or not. Anyway, solid win. LeBron and Bosh played well. I was hoping for Miller to get some kind of rhythm but he rarely ever got the ball on the offensive end.
-
As you said, that is exactly why Mike Miller will be such a great part of this team. Jones is shooting 44% from downtown, but that is basically all he does, shoot three pointers. Miller can shoot three pointers, run the offense, rebounds well, is a playmaker, and can score inside the arc as well. It's just a matter of finding a way to incorporate him.

It was a very good movie, though not great. I was thinking 8 or 9 out of 10, but probaby closer to 9/10. The acting is great (Bridges, Damon, and Steinfeld especially) and the score and cinematography are good as expected from Carter Burwell and Roger Deakins. It is better than the original in almost every aspect, and will definitely get some nominations come Oscar time. And for those worried about the PG-13, don't. It's very graphic for a PG-13, and I'm betting the only reason it didn't get an R was because there really isn't any bad language as expected from the Coens. However, this isn't like the other Coen movies. While it is up there in terms of quality with the other Coen movies, it is way more mainstream compared to their other films and more of a genre picture than the rest of their work.

Actually Jennings made some horrible decisions in the last few minutes. Especially the last minute, he took shots way too early.

Who thought Milwaukee on the road would snap the Mavericks' 12 game winning streak.

It's funny people mention how Heat haven't done so well against .500 or better teams, yet, neither have the Lakers and no one is jumping on their backs or making a big deal out of it. The Lakers are 2-4 against teams currently .500 or better, and after 23 games, they have only played 6 teams that are currently .500 or better. And what, they are half a game ahead of us? Heat are 16-8 and Lakers are 16-7. And the Heat's opponent record is .492 (18th in the league in terms of hardness of schedule) and the Lakers' opponent record is .412 (29th in terms of hardness of schedule). And yeah, Lakers don't have Bynum, but the Heat don't have Miller or Haslem. I agree that the Heat need to beat better teams to be taken more seriously, and I understand no one gives a [expletive] about the Lakers not doing so well as they are the defending champs, but this thing about the Heat not beating good teams is being so overblown.
-
6, not 7, but yeah, strong win for the Heat, and very convincing.
-
Haha, Heat better make sure to finish this game. I think we all remember that 8 point lead with 28 seconds to go vanish...
-
Agreed, fantastic start to the half. I've really liked how the Heat have played these past few games. Really showing some chemistry.
-
We can't let this be like last game where the Jazz dominated the 2nd half. Need to continue this kind of play. Also, is this team exciting when they run or what? Heat are very dangerous when they push the tempo.
-
Good start for the Heat, though I've noticed LeBron has fallen in love with his jumper lately. Needs to drive a bit more.
-
I see Bogut as a bigger threat, played great against the Magic (though they didn't have Dwight).
-
Yeah, and it's not like we got dominated by all those .500 teams. We almost beat the Hornets and we really should have beaten the Jazz. We need to learn to finish out those games, as both those games we were up with a minute left (up by 1 against Hornets and up by 8 against the Jazz).
-
Well, I think the other one team that was over .500 when we beat (the Suns) are now under .500, so... No, not the fans that were targeting LeBron. I'm talking about the numerous NBA fans saying how the Cavs were going to win, they had more to fight for in the game, how LeBron would choke, the Heat suck, etc. So basically it was the exact opposite. Cavs got blown out, showed no emotion, and LeBron played great. I'm not saying the trash talking is warranted because Cavs are not a good team at all and like you said, we have shown we can blow out bad teams but we haven't shown anything in beating the good teams. But it did feel good to see the Heat beat the [expletive] out of the Cavs because it proved a lot of people wrong.
-
Did you forget the Heat's 2nd game? We blew out Orlando pretty badly... I do agree though that the Heat need to start beating the good teams. We have shown we can beat those poor teams and dominate them, but we haven't done much when it comes to the good teams. The Heat have some tough games coming up so I hope the Heat can carry this momentum and get some wins. Also, about winning in class thing, what do you expect? People have been hating on the Heat on this forum for a long time, and I personally don't care but lmao at saying that the Heat fans should be the ones that should stay classy. Maybe if both sides were classy it wouldn't be a problem. People were saying how the Cavs would win this game with all the emotion surrounding LeBron's return, and the Heat absolutely dominated the game, especially LeBron and Wade. You don't think the fans will be happy and trash talk a bit about that considering all the crap that was said before the game?

Ah, thanks for the answer. Like I said I wasn't watching the game.
