  1. Yes, when did I say otherwise? I said illegal immigration is bad, but I understand why people do it. I'm not going to judge people that come here illegally because if I was in that situation I might have done it as well. I'll give you an example. America grows a whole [expletive] load of corn. They sell a lot of it to Mexico. As a result, many, and I mean many (as in millions) of Mexican corn farmers couldn't compete as no one would buy their corn. Well, if I didn't have a job and couldn't find one in Mexico's [expletive]ty economy and my family was starving, hell, I could go to America and get a job. It's risky, but would I rather wait around and starve? Also, I would put more blame on the companies for taking in these illegal immigrant workers and taking advantage of them.
  2. Haha, this thread is hilarious. States don't have fire departments, cities do. This house was not in the city boundaries. So the city said they would have to pay $75 for the service of the firefighters. Is it right? No, but it's the law. Once again, you would be risking your job. You can say they wouldn't have been fired all you want, but there is still that risk, and at the minimum they would be fined for breaking the law. It's easy to say "do the right thing" unless you are in that situation and what you do will affect you and YOUR FAMILY. Selfish my [expletive]. These guys are thinking about their families, what is so selfish about that? It is a stupid law to have a $75 fee, but it is the law, and the guy didn't pay it. That's how it goes. Is it right? No, it's horrible. I think something should be done about this law, but saying the firefighters are to blame for this and that they are pathetic is just plain stupid. What is pathetic is some of you here calling the firefighters out for just following orders and looking out for themselves and THEIR FAMILIES. Everyone here would put their own family over another.
  3. LMAO at you guys acting like you would put the fire out if you were there. If you guys were the firefighters you wouldn't gamble like that. Good luck for the town to find new firefighters? How about good luck to the firefighters to find new jobs? Those firefighters are people, and they care about themselves and their families, and they need to provide for their own family. It's easy for you guys to say they wouldn't have been fired, but if you were the firefighter would you really risk it? And LMAO at suggesting for them to just move and get another job. What a ridiculous and stupid thing to say. Firefighters are people too you know, moving and getting another job would be tough as hell, especially when considering this economy. Why would they want to go through all that trouble? Also, putting that fire out defeats the entire purpose of the fee. If they put that fire out, then why would anyone pay the fee when they know the firefighters will put the fire out anyway?
  4. Yeah, well, the process before was a lot simpler than it is now. Many just came here on boats and settled on the land or went out west, many passed through Ellis Island, etc. Now it can take years to get residency here, and it took my parents 20 years to get a green card. I do agree that people should try to come here legally, but I definitely understand the situation for those that don't want to go through that process. Not trying to say what they are doing is good, but I can understand why. It's ridiculous to even compare immigration in America's early history to now.
  5. Yes, because directly disobeying the law and possibly getting fired and being left without a job to support your own family is the best option for these firefighters. I think it is a shame what happened, but I don't blame the firefighters. I think it is ridiculous there is a fee in the first place.
  6. "Cranick, who lives outside the city limits, admits he "forgot" to pay the annual $75 fee. The county does not have a county-wide firefighting service, but South Fulton offers fire coverage to rural residents for a fee." That's why there was a fee. I personally think the firefighters should have put the fire out and if they really wanted that $75, then ask for it after. Maybe even more, I don't think the guy would care at that point. He would just be happy he still had a house.
  7. Haha, saw the guy speak on CNN, it was hilarious. Can't believe someone can be that hypocritical.
  8. LOL, what facts? And since when is "all we can go with is the bible" true? I'm sure there are other things we can go by. If people followed and believed everything in the bible, women would basically have no rights. Are you saying women shouldn't be able to speak in church, as said in the bible, just because it's in the bible? Personally I think all of that stuff is [expletive], and you clearly don't, but you have to at least admit some of it is [expletive].
  9. Download Speccy and check the temperatures. Doubt it's the problem but who knows.
  10. It sucks that I will miss the rest of this series, as I have to leave for governor's school on Sunday and won't be back until July 11th or something like that. Anyway, should be interesting to see how the Lakers will react. Kobe shot the ball particularly well (especially from 3s, 6-11, and most of these shots were just incredible) but the turnovers hurt him. Bynum's absence was definitely felt though. Injuries are part of the game, so no excuses, but without him the Lakers aren't as dominant. Two big, dominant players down low is almost impossible to contain, and easier to contain when that is just one with just Pau Gasol. As I said before Rasheed has been defending him very well in my opinon. Should also be interesting to see how his back holds up.
  11. Even though Lakers are only up by 3 they have been outplaying the Celtics this whole game in my opinion.
  12. That 2nd foul on Wallace was a horrible call. But overall Wallace playing Pau very well. I love the way he's defending Pau. And big three by Nate. Good game so far.
  13. Yeah, I understand it's good marketing, but I just find it funny how people go and buy a new one every time it comes out. And I didn't notice they come out with a new one each year, seemed like every 6 months or so for me. Either way, it's pretty ridiculous in my opinion. As someone said, the difference between them really isn't that great and in my opinion it's funny how people pay so much for something with little upgrades.
  14. Yeah, I think Udonis will have to take a pretty big pay cut if he were to choose to stay with the Heat. I do hope he stays though. He is a hard worker and does all the little things that help a team win. And it's nice to see the Heat organization doing this. Shows they want him.
  15. Haha, what a play by Fisher. Lakers should win this one, and the winner of game 3 has gone on to win 100% of the time ever since they switched to this 2-3-2 format. And LMAO at Pierce saying this isn't going back to LA.
  16. Am I the only one who finds this [expletive]ing stupid? Apple comes out with a new iPhone like every few months. [expletive]ing ridiculous if you ask me. Even funnier when people rush out to buy them every time.
  17. Well, Kobe can't guard both Rondo and Allen. Allen has a matchup advantage in my opinion over anyone who guards him because it seems that Kobe is set on guarding Rondo. So Ray Allen torching Farmar, Brown, and Fisher isn't surprising at all. Maybe try Sasha? He can be a pest on defense but he can also be an idiot and commit stupid fouls. And don't forget that both Pierce and Garnett played poorly in Game 2. The list of all the negatives for LA is there but none for Boston. Boston shot 15 less free throws as well. And I doubt LA gets favorable calls in Boston. I think Boston probably wins 2 out of the 3, and I would be surprised if they won all 3. Beating the Lakers 4 times in a row is damn near impossible. They have 1 right now, and I don't think they can do it 3 more times. But it's possible I guess, it all depends on if they can contain Kobe. It's also stupid for Pierce to say that. He said the same thing against the Magic and they were able to win 2 games before the series was over.
  18. Well, I disagree. Garnett at least has some length, while Glen Davis doesn't and had trouble guarding Pau. Rasheed did well though guarding Pau and also stretched the floor. I think it might seem like it helped them, but you don't know what kind of impact he could have had if he actually played more than 2-3 minutes in the first quarter. He could have made a few shots that would get his confidence up and he could have had some kind of rhythm, except when he didn't play that much in the first half he seemed totally out of the game and missed a lot of shots.
  19. LMAO Haha, I agree. He needs to really step up and become a factor in this series. He needs to provide spark off the bench. Hasn't done that at all this series.
  20. Hmm, well like I said I wasn't sure. From what I've seen I always thought if there is no evidence to overturn the call on the court they keep it. But I guess I was wrong, idk. And I understand a jumper from Rondo isn't really a threat, but come on. At least have someone close to him. You can't leave him that wide open. And yes, Artest was absolute crap, and yes Kobe got some fouls called on him that really weren't fouls, but he had the chance to get back the lead and he missed 3 times. And let's not forget the early fouls called on Garnett. It didn't allow him to get into any kind of rhythm the whole game. I don't exactly remember the fouls so they might have been valid, but there were many other times when the Celtics were screwed over. The blocks by Pierce and Davis. And let's not forget that Bynum had 7 blocks and Gasol had 6. I'm sure some of those should have been fouls, at least 1 or 2. The refs are not to blame for this game at all. Both teams were screwed over, and one team was able to play through it.
  21. By the way here is a link to the post game conference with Phil. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4ddOB8ARp0
  22. Well, I'm actually not rooting for either team, because I kind of hate both teams. I could care less who wins. But I don't think it is as clear as you think it is. Watch Gasol's hand motion in that play. It seems he pushes Garnett's hand and I can't tell if one of his fingers touch the ball or not. But if I were calling that, I think I would give it to the Lakers, or as you said just a jump ball. EDIT: No, I don't think they do jump balls if it is inconclusive. I think if the evidence is inconclusive, they don't overturn the call.
  23. Yeah, you can't really tell from that because of the color if it is Garnett's finger with the bandage or Gasol's. It seems to me Gasol's hand pushes on Garnett's and pushes it out, with one of his fingers on the ball last. But from the side angle it seems a bit more conclusive what happened. But I think the refs thought it was inconclusive and kept the call. Either way, Lakers should have played better defense and instead left a wide open jumper from Rondo. I understand he kind of sucks at jumpers but at least have someone near him.
  24. I don't know, it depends on the angle. If you look at it from the back, it seems like it came off Garnett. If you look at it from the angel I posted it seems to me Gasol's finger pushes it out. And I just watched a side view of it and I can't tell clearly. It went by fast and I can't tell who last touched the ball. Very close though. I might have to give it to the Lakers from that side angle, but maybe the refs thought it was inconclusive and decided not to overturn the call. Also, let's not forget the horrible defense by the Lakers that came from that play. They left Rondo wide open. Either way, Boston deserved the win in my opinion. The calls were bad either way.
