    How? He went from being the 2nd best player on a team to a good 3rd player on a team. Gasol is not in his prime anymore.

    Lamar was traded because he was unhappy, he requested a trade, and the Lakers did not want him to be a distraction this season. The Lakers were not going to bring him back next season so they got good value for a player who was not going to be with the team next year.

    Good pickup by the Lakers. The Lakers can later trade him for someone like Mayo if they get Millsap or Howard. Another good move by Mitch.
