Andrew Bynum > Kobe Bryant
FindingNeemo replied to FindingNeemo's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Deron is going to leave unless the Nets get another star. It's clear as day. It's what all the stars do these days aside from Steve Nash. Good luck holding onto him though and losing him for nothing. But yea take every word Billy King says as gospel. What is Deron going to say? "Yeah I'm leaving if they don't get Dwight". He'd get booed every game LOL. Yeah like he wants to spend the prime of his career leading a 30 win Nets team One year unusually low rebounding? So you think its an outlier? There are no outliers in an 82 game season. He doesn't care about rebounding and is a weak bigman that will not be a key player on a top team. If you play 30+ minutes, are 7 feet, and average 6 RPG you are soft. Especially when you have young legs. He is in the prime of his career rebounding wise, yet still sucks. Good luck with that. Frankly none of these arguments even matter because the Nets are a horrendous team and will be irrelevant for years to come unless they get Dwight. -
Andrew Bynum > Kobe Bryant

What's an IP addess? Yeah nonetheless 2009 Kobe >>>>>>> 2012 Kobe. Last year was the first year he looked like complete horseshit and I was one of the few people that was certain LA would get owned and not get to the Finals. Also they had Phil Jackson back then who is the best coach of all-time and Pau Gasol was one of the top 3 bigs in the league along with Dirk and Howard. It is a known fact that Kobe has never been able to win without the best big in the game and then arguably the best big in the game in those initial years with Gasol. Just like it is also a known fact that Kobe never wins elimination games on the road and always gets blown out by 40. Game 7 against Phoenix? Game 4 vs Dallas? Game 5 vs Detoit? Yeah Kobe quits on his teams and never wins unless he has a vastly superior supporting cast. Good thing Kobe isn't the GM or they would've traded Bynum for Kidd back in 07. Yes I have seen mostly all the Lakes games on national tv and stretches of some via the internet. I have to the conclusion via watching the Lakers-Philadelphia stream last night. When they went to Bynum it was easy offense, a great post up opportunity or an open look for a shooter. The Lakers shooters are pathetic in their own right. Kobe is their best and he can't even average 30% hahahahhahahaha. But that's a different problem, the point is the Lakes got good looks and it was a superior offensive method. Gasol can't operate the low post with Bynum but he is still the best passing bigman in the league and will always find the cutters from the high post. Whenever Bynum is out of the game Gasol should be the go to option down low. If Kobe can get 5+ postup opputunities per game when he ends up taking some crap fadaway then surely Gasol is deserving of some as well. The Lakers coaching sucks, Kobe sucks, and the bench sucks. If Phil Jackson was coaching that team though they would be far better. At one point? Cool so was that for like 2 weeks? Yeah all this proves is that Kobe is a ballhog. Lol @ Shaq not getting 16 shots a night. But yeah good luck with those 24 shots a game and making the playoffs as an 8th seed!hahahahhahahahaha Cool so 4-2 and 5-2 which is relatively the same record with both being a shit sample size. Thanks for that statistic, it proved a lot. Here's another stat I will bring up. When Kobe shoots under 20 attempts LA is 4-1 this year. When he shoots over 20 LA is 10-10. -
Andrew Bynum > Kobe Bryant
FindingNeemo replied to FindingNeemo's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Trolling? So having an unpopular NBA opinion is trolling now? Kobe Bryant is overrated and it might pain someone who has him listed as their favorite player to read it, but it is the truth. Kobe no longer possesses the athletisicm and speed to get enough easy points, which means the Lakers are destined to fail this year. Feel free to quote me on this come playoff time, but I guarantee the Lakers get owned early on in the playoffs as long as Kobe goes for his 30 PPG while chasing the scoring title. Andrew Bynum makes 10x the defensive impact Kobe makes and is a much more efficient offensive player. The only thing holding him back is touches which is hard with Kobe shooting 20+ times a game. Kobe is nothing more than a fadaway jumpshooter at this point in his career. It might look nice when it goes in, but it doesn't go in nearly enough for it to warrant priority over a Bynum deep catch and dunk or Gasol post up. Sure he is. Bynum has a very nice post game and is IMPOSSIBLE TO GUARD 1 on 1 in the post. When he catches the ball he needs to get doubled immediately, BEFORE he puts the ball on the floor or he is going to dunk on your face. The passing is the one aspect of his game that could use improvement yes, but it will come with experience. It's hard to prove you worth as a passer when Kobe takes 24 shots a game and only averages 29. Bynum? 17 on 12 shots which is HALF as much as Kobe. Why any team would want some dude taking fadaway jumpshots over the 2nd best bigman in the game getting quality looks/dunks down low is a joke in itself. Kobe can no longer get to the rim consistantly or find easy looks. All of his shots are tough and that isn't how you win games. Enjoy the sportscenter highlights Laker fans, there sure as hell won't be any postseason success at this rate. Not to mention Bynum is great defensively. While Kobe conserves his energy guarding guys like James Jones and Kyle Korver at the three point line so he can jack up more shots offensively, Bynum does a great job keeping guys out of the paint and altering EVERY shot that opposing teams get in there. The guy is massive and really anchors that defense. Kobe is top 10 all-time but near the end of that list. It isn't overrating or underrating him. It is what he is. Around 9th all time or so. Yeah great to see someone that recognizes Manu. He still is a great player, but not at the level he was in the mid 00's. Guy gives his all out there and is one of the smartest players period. Never makes a dumb play. Uhm ok? Are you still butthurt that you had to leave that discussion because I dominated that thread like Bynum in the paint? -
It is clear to me Andrew Bynum(as long as he is healthy) he is clearly the best player on the Lakers and far superior to Kobe Bryant. Hell Gasol is better than Kobe Bryant at this point. I have seen enough of Kobe Bryant this season to determine he is an inefficient player that takes a ton of shots to get x amount of points. Nearly all of his points come from low percentage fadaways/fallbacks/contested jumpshots and although Kobe Bryant has the skill to make them SOMETIMES, the Lakers would be a way better team if they operated the offense primarily through Bynum or Gasol. Very few teams have a guy that is capable of stopping Andrew Bynum and his shot attempts are much cleaner attempts than Kobe. Kobe needs to defer to Bynum or the Lakers will miss the playoffs/get swept in the first round. Not to mention Bynum is a behemoth defensively and on the boards while Kobe is hidden on some random shooter that camps the three point line. Kobe Bryant is definetly the most overrated player in sports.

Age: 19 Yeah like an elementary school kid is going to have real memories about the NBA on NBC looool. Every forum has this thread like 50 times and every time I see teens talking about it when they probably only knew 3 players at the time.

For those of you who support Obama...
FindingNeemo replied to kingfish's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
Yeah Obama is an awful president. Debt and unemployment numbers are worse than they were at any point during the Bush administration and Obama has yet to do anything he says. He is a gifted public speaker, which is a useful tool to fool the misinformed and give them comfort in the terrible state that this country is in. His entire campaign was built on lies. His state of the union the other night was a joke and was just him reiterating the same crap he gives us everytime. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDDRiGIUYQo -
No Rondo, yet the Celtics keep rolling on cementing themselves along with the top 6 East teams to make it a top 7 that will be in the playoffs. Rondo is one of the most overrated NBA players in the league and honestly isn't that much better than Avery Bradley who may be one of if not the top defender at the point guard position.

Pretty interesting game. New York getting lucky on basically every three, but still getting stomped on by the superior Miami Heat team. I love seeing New York fail on national tv because of that Spike Lee moron, but it looks like he didn't have the balls to show up. Wade looked fantastic, and looks to be in prime condition for the real game with Chicago.

Played a lot of bass during my teenage years. Haven't really bothered with it much since, it's probably collecting dust somewhere.

The Heat with, and without, Dwyane Wade
FindingNeemo replied to Real Deal's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
The Heat look like a much more fluid basketball team without Dwyane Wade. This is because in reality Wade is just a shittier version of LeBron James. If the Heat could trade Wade for Dwight Howard or for a package of players such as something like Marc Gasol, Tony Allen, OJ Mayo for Wade, then both of these deals would improve the Heat. He is not getting any younger and I don' t think they necessarily need him on the Heat. If the oppurtunity for an All NBA low post scorer in his 20's is on the table the Heat should take it. However I doubt any of these teams would trade a dominant bigman for a 30 year old Wade. The Heat can improve with Wade and it mostly has to do with LeBrons mindset. Wade needs to realize he is the sidekick, and focus on defense/secondary scoring/playmaking while allowing LeBron to play his game without getting anyone butthurt. This heat team looks fantastic without Wade in the lineup, but there is no reason adding a top 5 NBA player will make them worse. His athletisicm/playmaking/defense will fit in with the rest of the team when he gets healthy and Spoelstra needs to make this a priority. -
Pretty entertaining game. The Nuggets are definitely a sleeper team and could honestly challenge the Blazers/Thunder for the division. Their a VERY good team. Doing great work with what they have. Gotta love the Knicks front office. Putting all their cards in one hand with the Melo deal when they could have probably got him as a free agent. It's no surprise this team has been irrelevant for so long. Nuggets secretly raped them in this trade by robbing them of all their assets which left the Knicks with Melo and an overrated Stoudemire who doesn't play a lick of defense. Gotta love Galinari, I remember listening to an interview with Dirk and Dirk himself said Gallinari is miles ahead of where Dirk was at that point in his career. Guy can ball and understands team basketball.

RIP Joe

Great game for the Heat, they won a key game in the standings with the similar records. I've been watching this team play without Wade and they look even better than they do with him. Need to find a way to keep this groove when Wade returns to the lineup. The potential for this team is limitless. Bosh was truly a monster in this game, the Sixers had no answer for him. I don't think anyone is going to be able to beat the Heat this season, with or without Wade.

Shaq calls Bynum "Best big man in the league"
FindingNeemo replied to GamerGuy's topic in General NBA Discussion
Shaq makes statements based on who he likes/dislikes. Just how he refuses to give Chris Bosh any credit and said earlier in the year that Udonis Haslem was a better player. Never take any Shaq analysis seriously. Dwight Howard is better in nearly every category. Bynum has more polished moves, but Dwight still manages to score more effectively and at a higher percentage despite that small advantage so it doesn't really matter. -
Joe Paterno is a legend and should never have been fired. I hope the Penn State administration or whoever fired him is happy with their decision. The stress will ultimately be the cause of death.

Terrible Officiating in Nets-Clippers Game: 1/16/2012
FindingNeemo replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
The Lakers were a popular pick for the title favorite. Defense is very important in winning. Want to know why those teams were so successfull defensively? The biggest reason wasn't Bruce Bowen. It was two of the most dominant defensive players in all-time. Duncan and Hakeem. Those two players were the catalyst for those teams. Take Duncan/Hakeem off those respective teams and their ceiling is a 7th or so seed that gets ousted in the first round. It is very rare in the NBA to win with only one star. Those two guys(and now Dirk) are the only ones in the history of the game to do so which makes it very impressive. Those teams were full of role players that COMPLEMENTED the STARs. Sure those supporting casts worked great with the player, but look at the other guys like Kobe who have shown they can't win it all unless they have the best bigman in the game on their team(Gasol could be argued as the best big in the conference during those years and was definetly top 3 with Dirk/Howard during that timespan). Just like Kobe and the Lakers won't be able to win a title(0% chance as far as I'm concerned) now that Gasol has slightly fallen off. Unless LA gets Dwight Howard who is the best bigman in the game they are not winning the title. The NBA is a star driven league. You don't win a title unless you have a first ballot hall of famer leading the charge(of course the Psitons prove the one exception). -
For an edited list I will kick off Griffin, and Williams, and replace them with Kevin Love, and Kobe. So Kobe is still top ten, but barely. Next season he will be gone for good. And I was making those teams based on team structure, not necesarily who is the best at what position. I'd rather have Chris Paul with the ball in his hands than Kobe Bryant. Ill-advised shots and selfishness? No thanks that might work for a team full of castoffs, but when I have good players to work with I'll trust Paul to get them all involved and find higher percentage shots for him and everyone else.

Dirks field goal percentage against the Heat may not look impressive, but he was clearly the best player in the series. A case could be made for Wade prior to him injuring his hip, but Dirk was by far the best star in this series when the Heat have 3 of the top 4 players. He gave his team plays when they needed them most. Caron Butler does not qualify as a 15 point per game scorer. The Mavericks won the title because of Dirks playoff heroics a period of time in which Caron Butler contributed absolutely NOTHING. Jason Terry was good for some pinch scoring off the bench, but other than those two can anyone on that team consistantly create their own shot? And one of these is a bench player? Dirks supporting cast ranks up there among the all-time worst of title winners by hall of fame players with Duncans Spurs in 03, and Hakeems Rockets before Drexler. He carried them through the postseason which is when the Mavericks won the title, not because of a mediocre regular season which had NOONE picking the mavericks to win it all prior to the start of the playoffs so Butlers role on that team means nothing at all. Haha remove Marion, Kidd, Chandler. Pretty sure if you remove 3 of the top 5 players from any team their chances of winning a title are slim to none. The Mavericks were the 8th ranked defense which is nothing amazing at all among title winners. Dirks playoffs were truly legendary and not just his finals. The Mavericks weren't favored in ANY series last year(the portland series was 50/50 probably). Not only did he stand out in the finals as the star among stars, but he swept the title favorite Lakers with ease, and outplayed Durant in the WCF who had a superior supporting cast. Dirks cast may look OK on paper, but considering the casts its taken guys like Shaq, Kobe, Duncan(aside from 03), Jordan, Bird, Magic to win it all, his brilliance in that entire postseason is even more incredible. -

Almost And he was there nearly a decade ago. Not to mention this was during an era when the Eastern Conference was so weak it was beyond belief. They would get absolutely DESTROYED vs teams like the Heat, Bulls today. And what happened once he got to the Finals against the true league powerhouses(Lakers, Spurs)? Oh yea the Nets lost. -

Brooks offensive game comparable to Howards? Ha...... Howard doesn't have the sexiest offensive game, but what it comes down to is scoring and efficiency. Despite ALSO being the premier defender in the league this guy puts up scoring/efficency numbers at the center spot better than anyone since the 90s decade of centers(Robinson, Shaq, Hakeem). I also fail to see any reasons indicating on why Orlando would choose New Jerseys package over LA. To me it seems the Nets more than any other organization are praying for Dwight Howard and without him will be bust which results in top pick Favors along with Harris and the other assets being given up for nothing whatsoever. And when New Jersey has no advantages to LA in swaying Howard it looks like NJ should prepare a back-up plan. Two 2012 picks? Brooks? Lopez? I don't see one player in this deal that can be a cornerstone on a contender. However since the Nets look to be so bad should they get the number one overall pick that would be something Orlando would love. Bynum is a bonafide allstar and could definetly be a 2nd option on a title team. Maybe even first if his game continues to evolve. He is unquestionably the second best center in the game by a very large margin. Chances are he is way better than anyone that would get drafted. AND he's young. 34 year old Dirk is more talented than the entire Nets roster. Unlike most players his game will not suffer as much due to age since he is very skill oritented and doesn't rely on power/speed. Dirk isn't having the best season thus far, but his knee is bad and unfortunately after his legendary postseason in which he DESTROYED the heavily favored Heat team, it looks like he became content. Once he gets back in game shape we'll see the end of this Griffin/Love best PF in the league nonsense. Talk to me when any Nets player wins Finals MVP while leading a team to a title without any all stars to aid him. -

So you are going to claim to Deron Williams will stay if they don't get Howard? LOL Not to mention it comes from someone with much better sources than you or I. In this league the stars want to play with OTHER stars. What reason would Deron Williams have to stay in NJ vs the Mavericks, Lakers, or whatever other teams were on his wishlist? Without Dwight Howard that destination is irrelevant and he will be wasting the prime of his career. Unless of course your counting on the combination of Brook Lopez and Marshon Brooks to lead you to the promised land. Good luck bro. Deron Williams is going to leave if they don't get Dwight or another star. I don't need to hear it from his mouth alone to know this is a fact. And why would the Orlando ownership accept a trade revolving around Brook Lopez for Dwigh Howard who is probably the 2nd best player in the game? LOL. The Magic get no potential pieces to build around in this deal. Tell me one reason in which Orlando would trade Howard to NJ for Lopez as opposed to Bynum for Howard. This will be good, can't wait to hear the reasons. Bynum is 10 times the player Lopez is and is healthy this year so I don't even want to see "Oh Bynum could get hurt". Well Lopez IS HURT HAHAHA. In your link also take notice Deron is sure to say "90%" sure. This gives Nets ownership//teammates/fans the false sense of hope that he isn't going anywhere, but allows it so that him leaving would've been in his options. Smart statement by Williams. -

http://i1047.photobucket.com/albums/b476/robitusson2/Good-good-let-the-butthurt-flow-through-you-1.jpg Have you ever played basketball before? The referees are humans, not machines. The force through which DeAndre Jordan gets to the lane and blocks shots is lightning quick. He got away with quite a few goal tends when I was watching the Clippers-Heat game as well. They will call most, but not all. Deal with it. Any profession makes mistakes, and NBA officials are no different. Do you expect players to make every single shot attempt? No didn't think so. Like I said if I go through the game I could find multiple calls that went in favor of the Nets. It's part of the NBA. http://www.nj.com/nets/index.ssf/2012/01/report_deron_williams_would_le.html Thank me later, as someone who claims to be a Nets fan, it is surprising you have not heart this. He didn't accept any deal. If he accepted it, it would have happened barring a David Stern veto. Brook Lopez will get points, but will never be the best, 2nd best, even third best player on a contending team. In this league it is vital for your bigs to rebound and play top notch defense and for a guy with Lopez'z size and athletisicm to be a piss-poor rebounder/defender shows laziness and a low IQ on his part. Feel free to stop arguing if you can't handle the reality of the NBA being a league in which the Nets are irrelevant and blow.
