Terrible Officiating in Nets-Clippers Game: 1/16/2012
FindingNeemo replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
Goaltending? The ball was still on the way up(which is what the referees are looking at). Deandre Jordan gets to these balls so fast and he is so long they didn't see it bounce off the rim. Hell I didn't at first. Btw whenever I watch games/footage I mute the game. I come to my own conclusions and don't rely on usually biased announcers to tell me what to think. I'll listen to some Van Halen and enjoy the game. It is much more pleasant. Griffin gave a little bit of contact, but basketball is a contact sport. It wasn't enough for a 260+ man to fall over completely like a little girl. Never reward floppers. The Nets are a god-awful coached team. They have no real set plays, no real go to scorer. Deron is a nice player, but he has shown that he benefited from Jerry Sloans system in Utah tremendously. He is much worse in this free lance bs "system" that New Jersey runs. You made a 5 minute collage of like 5 plays when the difference if all calls were perfect(4 points maybe?), when the Clippers would still win even without the bonus points. Not to mention I'm sure there wasn't perfect officiating in favor of the Clippers and if I went through the entire game, could find a few unfavorable calls as well. The fact that you ewnt through the trouble of a 5 minute long video because of 1 or 2 unfavorable calls is comical. Deron Williams has already said he is leaving that team unless they get Dwight Howard and if you honestly think the Magic are going to accept a package revolving around Brook Lopez for Dwight Howard you are in for a rude awakening. Brook Lopez is one of the most empty stat players in the league. He has no idea of fundamental defense, he is one of the worst 7 foot rebounders with his minutes in the history of the NBA, and he is not a good passer. Him being out is hardly a loss. The Nets just suck and Orlando isn't going to take your trash. -
I was looking forward to this game all- week for one reason. To shut up uneducated basketball fans that still believe Kobe Bryant > LeBron James in this day and age. And LeBron proved why he is the best player in the league. Truly a dominant performance in which Kobe had 1-8 shooting in the first half for only 6 points. Kobes points were mostly in garbage time against the bench of the Miami Heat. LeBron gets hated on for whatever reason, but his dominance is unmatched in this league.

Terrible Officiating in Nets-Clippers Game: 1/16/2012

I really hope your being sarcastic with this post..... Thee are like 4-5 calls in that 5 minute long video. NONE of them are that horrendous calls other than Deron getting hit in the face which is something that is hard to see when your watching these games live and you have to account for human error. Nothing else was that bad. The out of bounds call was correct as the crew worked together and watched the video to see that Griffin hit it up and it was out on Williams. And when Griffin backed Williams down thats a good no call. In today's NBA there is more flopping than ever and I don't want to see this guys get away with that crap. The reality is that the Nets are just an awful team(probably the worst team in the league with Washington) and it's going to be pretty funny when Deron Williams ends up leaving that team and their investment that they gave up all those assets for will have produced nothing. Just an awful team. -
It can be taught, but some guys just don't have the physical talent to defend some of these amazing athletes at the NBA level. Steve Nash was a good example. Guys like Andray Blatche though. Their excuse is a poor basketball IQ, might possibly not be in the best physical shape since playing top level defense can be demanding physically, or just laziness which seems ever so more common in todays generation of players who will routinely take plays off on the defensive end of the floor.

Random Sixers Thoughts 2011-12
FindingNeemo replied to Phightins's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
If Spencer Hawes can be a serviceable NBA center that Phildaelphia team will be able to compete night in, and night out. The Sixers seemed to have a problem turning the ball over which could be attributed to a non existant training camp. Holiday seemed nervous out there, but should rebound quite nicely. Sixers could be a sleeper pick for the division. -
1st C: Bynum F: Griffin F: Butler G: Eric Gordon G: Chris Paul 2nd C: Deandre Jordan F: Gasol F: Kobe Bryant G: Chauncy Billups G: Mo Williams

Melo is a possible top 5 player, while you fault Dwight for not being able to get by with a poor cast, Melo is in the same category. He is merely pointing that out. Top 5 1. LeBron James 2. Dwight Howard 3. Dwyane Wade 4. Dirk Nowitzki(he is clearly not in Game shape right now as I think he coasted through the offseason and stopped working hard, but I am still going to put him here because of his amazing 2011 playoffs). 5. Chris Paul Nitro pretty much covered it with LeBron. He had a bad Finals, but in general is a great postseason performer and is just far too dominant on both ends of the floor. Here's some guys to fill out the top ten just for kicks... 6. Kevin Durant 7. Derrick Rose 8. Carmelo Anthony 9. Deron Williams 10. Blake Griffin

This was a great game to kick off the new season, Knicks crowd got into it and Melo looked amazing. Sleeper for the MVP Award. I got goosebumps in that 4th quarter.

Some interesting thoughts. I think Billups is actually an AMAZING pickup for the Clippers. His speed isn't as much of an issue anyway, they will just stick him on the weakest perimeter player on opposing teams(usually the shooter and if they dont have a shooter the opposing team has more problems than LAC). He is still a great shooter which will open the floor up for Paul/Griffin/Jordan. Him and Mo Williams seem a bit redudant though. I think it would be nice for the Clippers to trade one of them for another rebounder off the bench or a defensive minded/shooting swingman. I think the Knicks are overrated. A D'antoni team can't thrive without an amazing point guard to run that offense. Sorry, but 33 year old Baron Davis who hasn't done anything in years is not that guy. If Mark D'antoni and Marc Jackson could switch head coaching positions I think both clubs would benefit a lot more. The Warriors would be a good fit for D'antoni and Marc Jacksons will to implement defense could thrive in NYK with some decent defenders and a Chandler anchor. GSW just doesn't have the personnel.

Hey just making an introduction since it seems to be the protocol ^_^ Used to be an active poster on realgm, but it seems really cluttered and stumbled upon this site somehow which seems much more open . looking forward to discussing some basketball with you all! I'm pretty weird how I don't really have a favorite team, just a fan of the game and get just as excited for bucks-cavs match ups as heat-lakers(ok not really LOL)
