He definitely has a huge heart and he plays for his team mates and the team. He's got what it takes to be a future leader on a Stanley Cup calibre team. I also agree that he was rushed into the NHL way too quickly. He should have gone back to junior for atleast a year after he was drafted, probably two. Even some time in the AHL really would have helped his game. But the fact of the matter is, he didn't get to go back to his junior team, and he didn't spend any time in the AHL, and now his game is not that great. Don't get me wrong, I know he's still very young and should improve, especially under a better coach and system. He may have led the league the past two seasons in hits, but that doesn't change the fact that he was a huge liability every time the puck came near his stick. He would just about always toss the puck away like it was a grenade ready to blow, and if he ever tried to carry the puck out of the zone, he would be easy bait for someone to take the puck from him and cause a turnover. He still has time to develop but as it stands now, he's got a lot of work to do.

Agreed for the most part. I don't see him getting to 30-35 points though. I think like 3-5 goals a year + around 15 assists is what he's going to stay at.

What puts the Denver Nuggets over the top?
DunkinDerozan replied to Real Deal's topic in Denver Nuggets Team Forum
From the little bit I saw of the Nuggets last season, it seemed liek they were very inconsistent. One game, they wpuld just absolutely dominate a game becasue they have so many weapons at pretty much every position. But then the next game they would struggle because guys would go cold and they don't have anyone who is good enough to win games just on his own. I don't think they necessarily need a player of Melo's calibre, but maybe they need someone who can score more consistently. -
Unless Carmelo can build on his game and play more then just all about me offense then it will always be Pierce. Melo still has time though, and Pierce only has one championship. So if Melo could win a championship, he might be considered close.

Suter to Philly a possibility? Whats the latest on Pronger? Is he coming back again?

Davis: 'I Will Be The Best Tight End Ever'
DunkinDerozan replied to The Regime's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
A guy can dream I guess -
I think theres a much better chance Deron would sign in Dallas than Nash. Don't get me wrong, it would be a decent fit for Nash. I've read somewhere that supposedly Phoenix, Portland and Toronto are the three teams he's considering right now. I can't remember who it was that said this, so it might not be that viable. It was from a sports network though, I believe the Score.

Top No. 1 overall picks past 20 years (ESPN Insider)
DunkinDerozan replied to Dr. Feelgood's topic in General NBA Discussion
Really good read. I wasn't much of a Raptor fan the year Barg got drafted. I didn't really know most people had him ranked outside the top 10. Too bad we didn't take Aldridge. Still wasn't a bad pick though. -
Good deal for both teams. Leafs get the higher risk higher reward player. JVR had injury issues last year, and he's also a year older. But if he can come back improved and injury free, I think we win easily. If Schenn doesn't improve from lat season, you'll understand why I used to get so [expletive]ing frustrated with him last year. He honestly has hands of stone and is an absolute turnover machine. I broke atleast a couple things in my living room because of goals he cost us this year. But if he can go back to how he played two seasons ago, or atleast improve a bit, he should be alright. I'm [expletive]ing pumped though
-
WOOOOO JVR FOR SCHENN! I'm so [expletive]ing pumped! Great dael Burke, you pulled off another beauty!

Now the Leafs just have to draft the youngest brother Subban next year to complete the rivalry.
-
To make sure there isn't a chance he gets out.

He'll have fun in prison... Good riddance scumbag

I don't see how they would be able to get a top 6 winger + assets for him. They were lucky Carolina was willing to give up as much as they did because Carolina is pretty much sure Jordan will sign an extension to play with Eric. No other teams were willing to give up as much because it was most likely he was going to leave to Carolina at the end of the season for free agency anyways.

Pens got great value for Staal. He's a vwery good third liner, but not much more then that for the Pens. They got a replacement third line C in Brandon Sutter and the 8th pick Pouliot apparently very highly coveted by the Pens. They said they wouldn't have done it if Pouliot was off the board.
-
Well, we took Reilly. I really like the look of him, and if we couldn't get Murray he was my second pick at defense. I'm really shocked that Burke didn't take Forsberg though.

I pretty much feel same way. Yakupov, Murray, Galchenyuk or Forsberg and i'm thrilled. I'd be alright with Grigorenko too. Not sure why some draft boards have him falling out of the top 10, and i've even seen some people saying he could fall out of the top 15? Not sure what he did to make his draft stock plummet. There was some kind of rumor that Grigs was 20 years old or something. Don't see any truth in that. As far as Luongo, I'm really struggling to decide whether I want him or not. We NEED a goalie, and he's a top 10 tendy in the league for sure. When he's at his best he's top 5. Problem is he's getting older, he has a massive contract, and he folds under pressure. If he thinks the pressure is bad in Vancouver, wait until he arrives in TO.

Best current athlete without a championship?
DunkinDerozan replied to Cobb's topic in Other Sports Discussion
I would have said Ovechkin a season ago. Now its probably Durant, Philip Rivers, Stamkos. Durant and Stamkos I would really count though because they're so young. I think the question should be best current athlete who has played 7 or 8+ seasons without a championship. -
Lol uhhh
