Report: NFL Will Not Suspend Andre Johnson
AboveLegit replied to htown11's topic in AFC Conference Discussion
It shouldn't matter what Finnegan did to provoke Johnson, Dre threw punches that landed on Finnegan. You can make the case that Finnegan deserved it and AJ was justified in the eyes of every spectator of the sport, however, AJ throwing punches on the field is a clear violation of the rules and should be suspended. I agree that Finn is the bad guy of the whole situation, he should be suspended. If you think Finn baited and cheap shotted AJ all game, then suspended him for multiple games, but for the league not to suspend AJ a single game? That's ridiculous. This league is attempting to clean up the violence within the game such as roughing the passer, defenseless receivers, helmet to helmet hits then I guess you can't use your helmet as a weapon, but your fists are apparently ok.. And BTW, Seymour should have been suspended also, the league dropped the ball on this one. I can't understand how anyone can argue against this. -
Lol I realize that, but this is the second straight week that we've had success on third downs, at least we're showing signs of improvement.
-
Well at least our offense is looking as good as it has all year. 6/8 on third downs!
-
Right now Joe is averaging around 17PPG on 40%FG and 26% on three's(career low). To put it into perspective, last year he averaged 21PPG on 46%FG and 37% on three's. Will he put it together and prove he's somewhat worthy of that ginormous contract he received this past offseason? What is going on with him right now?
-
Ugh, AP is killing us as expected, gotta find a way to stop him.
-
I'd give our offensive line more credit, it looked great and it seems like they're really improving. Minnesota had a solid pass rush on that one play where McNabb lost the ball.
-
OMG, easily the best drive I've seen all year by our offense. McNabb looked great.
-
Whoa, two wildcat plays early on, we haven't ran that all season.. It hasn't been too effective thus far, but nice to see some new play call.
-
Vikings are 0-6 on the road this year, but Favre is 4-0 against the Skins in his career, not sure what to predict today. LaRon is out again, and we always struggle against fast receivers like Harvin, not looking forward to that. We're also 32nd in the league against the rush, so I definitely won't be surprised if AP gets 30+ carries. Let's see if the Skins can extend that win streak to 2, we definitely need it.

I think the only thing that throws a major roadblock is that Riley has been forcing Spoelstra on everyone for now 3 seasons as some sort of savant. If he fires him halfway through the season it's a signed confession that he screwed up. It's the Dumars/Darko corollary. The shot distribution is very poor, although that will improve with better chemistry. When we saw that roster we pictured them running a certain style and winning a lot of games doing it, and they haven't run that style at all and they're not doing nearly as well as everyone expected. I think it's weird that the Heat have decided to run such a slow system. It seems like all their players are better suited for up tempo. Their deficiencies in interior defense would be countered by all their fast break points. Use a mentality like: if you're going to throw the ball into your center every play, we'll swarm, steal, and fast break. Their wing players are so good at stealing the ball, you'd think they would try to do that more. Yet they're 22nd in steals? I don't understand what Spoelstra is trying to do.

Crushing defeat, last night was vintage Arenas, 9/23FG, 31pts and 5 assists, looks like he's regaining his form.

Blake Griffin's Top Ten NBA Dunks
AboveLegit replied to Oliver P's topic in NBA and College Basketball Media
The scary thing is, this list will probably change in a few weeks.. I agree with what Kenny said on Thursday, if Blake gets a consistent jumpshot, he will be a superstar in this league. -
Which coaches do you think would be successful in the NBA? Which NBA teams would fit their style of play the best?
-
Bought some clothes, that's really it. Wasn't looking for anything else tbh.

1. Do you still miss McNabb despite Vick's MVP caliber season? 2. If you could redo the 2010 draft, would you still take Evan Turner? 3. Eagles Superbowl champs or Sixers winning the Finals, what do you want to see more? 4. What would you like to see the Eagles focusing on in this upcoming draft? 5. Come up with one trade scenario involving Iguodala? 6. Did I just add that question mark at the end of #5 so it could look like it's a question? 7. John Wall or Michael Jordan, who's really better? 8. Where do you think Wall will rank amongst PG's in the next 5 years? 9. Will LeBron crack the top 10 greatest players of all time list at the end of his career? 10. Who wins the ROY award this year?

Wow, Bosh with back spasms, return is questionable. Heat cannot catch a break. EDIT: Looks like he's back now.
-
Jameer Nelson is killing the Heat with his dribble penetration.
-
Bosh is hurt, not sure what exactly is wrong, but I doubt it's anything serious. EDIT: Looks like it's his back, he's headed to the locker room.
-
Wade looking good early, so has Orlando's offense.

It really depends on a lot of things. A running back-by-committee can be very effective behind a good ZBS O Line. A #1 WR can be effective even when the OL isn't playing great. Taking into account the landscape of the NFL (a more passing league now) along with teams like the Redskins and Browns, I think a WR is a more valuable commodity. Serviceable HB's can be found anywhere, especially in a system like Shanahan's who has a proven track record of turning average HB's into stars. I still believe a good Oline is the hardest to acquire commodity in the NFL, but WR's are right behind them. Plus, who was the last elite "feature back" to win a Super Bowl or a Super Bowl MVP? Jamal Lewis? Marshall Faulk? An elite WR stretches the field, takes the safety out of the box, helps QB's perform better (young or old), and typically have longer, more productive careers than RB's.
