  1. Keep: - Wall - Booker - Vesely - Mack - Singleton - Crawford Young is gone after this year, he hasn't played up to his contract demands, and rarely do you see players stay with their teams once they sign that qualifying offer. I'm on the fence with McGee, I like his potential, but I don't know if he will ever put it all together. He's an RFA this summer, if we're unable to get him under a reasonable price, I wouldn't mind seeing him go. Ideally, I'd like to see him back because I would hate to replace him with another raw talent like Drummond or Davis. But out Shard's contract, amnesty Blatche, draft Thomas Robinson, and this team can finally be on the right track.
  2. Shocked that Rubio isn't in the event this year, but a good field regardless.
  3. Sucks that Wes is playing out of position, but regardless, he's nearing Johnny Flynn status.
  4. That is a big if.. Magic are in a terrible situation... you cannot live and die by the three in this league. You'd have to go all the way back to 1995 when the Rockets won with a similar formula, however, both teams are still very different. They have no assets to make significant upgrades to their roster and their financial situation is among the worst in the league. This team has been a pretender in the East for 3 years now.
  5. This all reminds me of that huge month Darren Collison had back in New Orleans. People were legitimately discussing the possibility of trading Chris Paul and build around Collison. The reality of this situation is that Lin will get scouted very soon, and will level off. But that's not to say he will revert back to being a D-Leaguer, as long as Dantoni is in town, his production will still be there. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/collida01/gamelog/2010/ Just go to January of that year and look at the absurd numbers he put up in Paul's absence. I think Melo will make this work. He's one of the top spot up shooters in the league, one would think he would relish the opportunity to get high percentage shots with defenses focusing on the Lin-Amare-Chandler pick and roll.
  6. Agreed completely. His play was erratic early on, but he settled down and started to play excellent defense. I love how he dominated the game without scoring, I have a feeling we'll be seeing that a lot from him in the future.
  7. Kobe played with a lineup like this and managed to win 40 games and make the playoffs. That's a bad example. Before this current stretch, Deron was playing some terrible basketball. We're seeing Steve Nash right now playing with teammates just as incompetent as the one's in New Jersey, and he's still finding ways to get his team good shots, and isn't letting the situation get the best of him. Is he not feeling the same pressure Deron is? How do you explain Nash playing so well? And I've seen about 7 games. Small sample size, I know, but it's enough for me to form an opinion without looking just at stats. Bottom line is I've seen Kyrie Irving play better basketball this season, and arguably the same goes to Brandon Jennings.
  8. Isolation basketball coming to haunt Oklahoma City again.. Kings have really been playing well lately, they've now won 4 of their last 6, and both of those losses were very close games.
  9. I've acknowledged that completely, but again, it's no excuse for him to be playing so inefficiently, especially for a guy who at one point rivaled Chris Paul as the best PG in the league. He has the experience to know taking 6 three's a game isn't a winning formula. Stats may not show me everything, but on top of me watching Deron play a handful of times this year, I watch John Wall play every game under similar, if not worse conditions. Yet I have no excuse for him turning the ball over nearly 4 times a game. The only excuse I have for his poor FG% is that he's a bad shooter. Is Deron? No. I understand what he's going through, but playing on a bad team is no excuse for a superstar playing as inefficient as he has.
  10. Execution late in the second half was terrible for them, still not sold on Murray State when March rolls around.
  11. But he also choked in game 7 against the Knicks in 1970 without a healthy Willis Reed. He lost in 1973 against the Knicks again, but I'll give him a pass there because he was breaking down.
  12. There's no reason for Deron to be shooting 6 three's a game despite the lack of talent around him, especially when he's only hitting 35% of them. That's not exactly fitting for a "true PG".. Steve Nash is in a similar situation, yet is still managing the game very well. The fact is, Deron is forcing the issue far too much, and is averaging more turnovers than John Wall, which should never be the case. Does that really describe an All Star to you? And it's not as if he's even playing his best when the Nets do lose. He's shot himself out of at least 10+ games this year. Kyrie has closed out games, is putting up All Star numbers despite playing only 30 minutes, and isn't exactly in the most ideal situation either.
  13. Remember all that talk about Westbrook playing bad? Yea... not anymore.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaGaMb5LIag&feature=youtu.be
  14. I've stated many times how overrated Wilt is. It's one thing if you're winning the way Russell did in an inferior era, but it's a completely different thing when you're dominant statistically, but can't win in that specific era. The same goes to Oscar Robertson who's only title came when he was playing with a top 3 player of all time.. Think about it, the fact that Kareem won as many titles as Wilt by the time he retired in '73 is enough to prove that Wilt was obsessed with padding his stats and records rather than getting rings. By the time Wilt retired, Kareem already had half as many titles and MVPs. In comparison to Russell, Wilt's winning makes up only a small percentage of Bill's success, despite Bill retiring 4 years earlier. It was always something with Wilt.. Wilt played on better teams than Kareem until of course Magic came to LA. Even Kareem's '71 team isn't better than a lot of teams Wilt was on. He's one of the biggest underachievers ever in the history of sports. Anyways, here's my list.. 1. Jordan 2. Russell 3. Kareem 4. Magic 5. Bird 6. Shaq 7. Kobe 8. Duncan 9. Hakeem 10. Wilt
  15. He's been incredible as of late, but I'd venture to say he's played poorly in nearly half of the games played so far this year. He's averaging a career high in turnovers and a career low in FG%. I don't look at the team record when talking about All Stars, it's the fact that Deron has played his worst basketball in years. And no, the past 2 weeks or so doesn't compensate for his poor play early on. It's the same reason why Pierce shouldn't be in the game as well. I'd definitely take Kyrie's season over Deron's, despite him playing poor defense. What he's done is spectacular.
  16. Speechless. http://cjzero.com/gifs/BrownOpenMouth.gif
  17. Bosh should easily be the starter in the East... D-Will should not be in though. Milsap is a huge snub, as is Josh Smith. Glad to see Roy Hibbert making it, he's come a long way since his Georgetown days. Proved me wrong big time, I didn't think he was capable of playing at this level.
  18. Can't wait to see Linsanity in action tonight.
  19. If you like being disappointed each year, the Caps should be your top choice.
  20. Washington D.C. assuming the Skins can't get RG3.
  21. Predicting a blowout in favor of UNC, but we'll see.
  22. No one can spin this to make it seem like it makes sense for Boston to pull the trigger on this deal..Trading your best young asset is stupid, but doing so for Gasol is even more illogical. Gasol is not Boston's answer this year or in the future, not will he be more effective in games than Rondo. Boston is a team built on chemistry, trading the player who keeps this team together in a compacted season is asinine. It would take a true idiot to trade a top 5 PG that can only grow and is on one of the best contracts in the league. And let's not forget, Hoopsworld is not the most credible source out there.. And don't get me started on Austin Rivers, he's in no way, shape, or form ready to leave Duke.
  23. Happened early in the third quarter on a three pointer. 1. John Havlicek- 26,295 points 2. Paul Pierce- 21,792 points and counting... 3. Larry Bird- 21,791 points 4. Robert Parish- 18,245 points 5. Kevin McHale- 17,335 points Pretty big accomplishment, one of the greatest Celtics ever.
  24. Davis is a great rebounder in college because there's not many players in the country that can rival his elite wingspan. However in the NBA he's going to be forced to box out more and create space to grab rebounds rather than just using his length. Defensively, both are very similar, Davis' instincts are more advanced than I anticipated coming out of high school.
