  1. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-heat/sfl-miami-heat-jerry-stackhouse-s102210,0,6143259.story Luckily for them, they managed to sign Eddie House over the summer as well, so they at least have one guy capable of hitting threes on a consistent basis. If they cannot get Stackhouse, is there anyone else the Heat should be interested in?

  3. Redskins are just beating teams up. Add Clark to the list of players they have injured. Michael Vick Lesean McCoy Half the Green Bay roster Dallas Clark Greg Olsen better be ready this weekend.
  4. This sucks, I really wanted to win a championship this year. But really, I thought he did have a decent shot at making the roster. But he is extremely slow, it's like watching someone in slow motion, and with Flip's idea of us being a running team, I knew this had a good chance of happening.
  5. I would have to give Phil Jackson the nod as he won it with two teams that were slightly different. Chicago won it without a low post offensive threat. The LA teams that won it were stacked like the Boston teams. Jackson is a master motivator and his players buy into him constantly challenging them. When Jackson walked away from the Lakers, he had lost the ear of Kobe. When Kobe and the Lakers spiraled without him, they openly welcomed him back. Love him or hate him, Red was an absolutely great GM first, with coaching being secondary on his resume. He could have easily stayed on longer as a head coach to win more titles, but decided to step down as the coach. As a GM, he made brilliant moves in drafting Larry Bird and fleecing Golden State that netted Robert Parrish and Kevin McHale. He was also very progressive in breaking the color barrier for head coaches when he promoted Bill Russell to player / coach. If Len Bias and Reggie Lewis had lived to have long productive careers, Red's legacy would have run through the 90's.
  6. Ray Allen For some strange reason people still think Ray hasn't had great playoff runs in his career...Then what exactly was the 2001 Eastern Finals? Did Allen not average 27 a game and shoot 55% on threes, including THIS game in a do-or-die Game 6? Did he not set an NBA Finals Record for threes made in a series in 2008? Did he not put LA away with a barrage of 2nd-half threes (7 total, including 4 in the span of 7 possessions) in Game 6? Or how about 2009 in Round 1 against Chicago? Did he not hit a game-winning 3 in Game 2, a game-tying 3 in Game 4 to send it to overtime, or a game-tying 3 in Game 6 to send it to triple overtime (a game he scored 51 points in, by the by)? And I also hate the fact that Millers' career gets so glorified because of his series against the Knicks. It was great, they had a 30 for 30 on ESPN dedicated to it, but that seems to be the reason why people pick him over Ray. Allen was/is the better player, Miller's career just sticks out more because of his battles with the Knicks. Let's not forget, for all the great playoff performances he has had, Reggie went 2-10 in the fourth quarter of Game 7 against the Knicks in 94 and scored 12 points game 7 against Orlando in 95 or when he went 3-18 in game 6 against the Knicks in 99. Yet people never seem to acknowledge it. Ray Allen has come up clutch in multiple situations both in the regular season and playoffs. He has the sweetest stroke in the history of this league, is going to catch Reggie in all time threes made, and is already the more efficient shooter out of the two.
  7. Yeah I don't think anyone can bring up a better rivalry than Magic-Bird.
  8. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=5706315 I've just gained so much respect for Mark Schlereth.
  9. Agreed, I think having an offensive force like Tampa in our division might actually help us stay focused and maintain some sort of defensive flow. I know that's saying a lot about an opponent, but whatever -_-

  11. They are undefeated in the preseason (7-0) and had some nice wins. Against the Lakers on Sunday, Gordon Hayward dropped 26 and looked great out there. Deron Williams is also playing well... Will the Jazz be under the radar this season like they always are? I hardly ever see people talk about them, but it's basically a given that they will make the playoffs, as long as Sloan is the coach.
  12. I love what we did this offseason. I believe in Ted Leonsis completely, and I like his method of building through the draft and obtaining nice, young pieces moving forward. Obviously luck played a factor in our success this offseason, but other than that, I think the front office did a good job managing Gilbert and the rest of the team. He does a great job connecting with the fans, he's familiar with DC and its' fans, and knows how hungry we our to win. He knew our weaknesses when he bought the team from the Pollins, and has done a good job thus far in correcting them. We had to get bigger, so we spend 3 out of our 4 draft picks on big men. He knew we were a poor defensive team, so the front office brought in Kirk Hinrich. I'd give the front office an A after seeing this team during training camp and the preseason. I think we had one of the best offseasons in the league.
  13. Who's in your top 5? Here's my list: 1. Gasol 2. Duncan 3. Al Jefferson 4. Garnett 5. Bogut But I think when Yao is healthy, he's top 3 easily.

  15. I love this song, been in my rotation for a long time now.
  16. If it takes Gallinari in order to get Melo, they have to do this. The goal is to create a contender in NY, they have been in the gutter since Ewing retired. They need some hope in the city, Paul is already interested in the Knicks, Melo will be there, Tony Parker will be a free agent, and Rubio will be off his rookie contract soon and has expressed some interest in playing in a larger market. Hell I'll also say a guy like Deron Williams may push management harder if he doesn't like what he see's in Utah. There is not a single player more interested in NY as Melo, go get him now.
  17. Carlos Rodgers has a better chance of catching an interception than Willie does coming back and making an impact on an NFL team.
  18. Looking forward to a new season of Caps hockey. We gotta focus on defense this year. Hopefully Varlamov doesn't miss too much time, but Michal Neuvirth has been looking terrific out there for us in the preseason. The biggest problem I've noticed from him is that when he's playing bad, he's playing BAD. Luckily you get a lot more good than bad from him, but when he has an "off" night, you're going to notice it. Should be another great season, was tough the way it ended last season in the playoffs.
  19. I watched almost every game I possibly could of him last year at Kentucky, and I knew he'd be a great player. But I'm still in shock, he's such an extraordinary player, especially watching him live in person. I think him being around guys like Gilbert, Kirk, Flip, and Sam Cassell will help him tremendously throughout his career. I think he fits the mold of a Rondo type player (with more potential) than a Derrick Rose. I think John already has Derrick beat on a few things- court vision, speed, and defense. He's going to be a top 3 defensive PG real soon, and will probably be near the top in APG. He's also a decent scorer, his jumper looks solid, obviously it needs a ton of work, but I like the mechanics of his shot and have been saying this since I saw him first play at Kentucky, his work ethic and dedication to the game will make him an above average jump shooter. In 2 years or so, we will be hearing John's name being mentioned with the likes of Paul and Williams.
  20. Rumors were that the Packers offered the Giants a 4th round pick in exchange for Jacobs....I don't see why NY would do that considering how good they have been looking as of late.
  21. Yeah, we have a mature community, I don't see cursing being a huge issue. And I agree, just keep the N word censored.
  22. What bothers me more than anything is that even with the number of injuries that have occurred this season and in years past, the league still wants to extend the regular season to 18 games.... It seems to me that if the NFL is trying to protect its' players, they they need to reduce the amount of games played, not increase it. An 18 game season defies all logic and makes the league look hypocritical. And as to what Steve Young has said earlier, it's not just about the helmet to helmet hit. It's about altering the perception of what you're seeing (thus, the reason for the"devastating hit" idea in the new rules). They are forcefully taking out the violent nature of the game, even if the hits aren't causing an injury of any kind, the perceived notion is that it's barbaric or overly aggressive. I actually appreciate and love the hard hitting nature of the game and don't want this to happen to the game.
