Wow you have got to be kidding me. The 49ers had a great drive up until that fumble... all that momentum they gained was just lost on that one mistake.
-
Big win for us, I didn't get a chance to watch the second half, but from what I've been hearing, LaRon Landry played a spectacular game. He's playing like a top 5 safety in this league, and he's finally living up to his potential.
-
Chase Budinger is a beast, I really like him as a player and I think he has a chance to make a name for himself in this league.

Just saw this, and man was it impressive. Fincher has reentered the race for most important director of this generation.

Magic, Mavericks Flirted With Trading For Arenas
AboveLegit posted a topic in General NBA Discussion
Read more: http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/69485/20101009/magic_mavericks_flirted_with_trading_for_arenas/#ixzz11t9auZ00 Which team would have benefited most from having Arenas? I'm going to say Orlando since their best players isn't a pure scorer, they would have definitely been better off IMO. -
Finally Flip decided to rest Wall (he played only 28 mins), but we ended up losing. Didn't get a chance to watch the game since it wasn't televised.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=mc-cousinskings100810 I love Cousins' competitive spirit, I remember on draft day Coach Callipari was saying how Cousins will want to drop 40 on every team that passes on him in the draft. This kid is going to be great, I do believe he's going to end up better than Favors when it's all said and done.

Patriots Exploring Mankins For Vincent Jackson Trade
AboveLegit replied to The Regime's topic in AFC Conference Discussion
I don't see this happening. Both teams are reluctant to shell out cash, so why would they trade for each others cash demanding players? -
Matt Ryan. I just don't trust our backfield right now, Portis may not be having a great year running the ball, but he comes up big with blocking. And Trent Williams isn't 100% either. McNabb may have to run the ball more than he likes on Sunday.

Wizards win big despite John Wall not having a great night. Good to hear.
-
Yeah definitely, I don't expect him to drop 20 and 10 every night (hell I don't even expect him to average 20ppg or 10apg lol). He doesn't have the offensive skillset to maintain consistency in his scoring.
-
Well Wall missed his first 9 shots, but ever since, he's been 5-7 from the field. Kind of hard for me to analyze his game right now since it's not on TV.. -_-

Great song, love Dilated Peoples. Here's my favorite song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QZUkdAmuNc

Terrible night for Wall, 1-10 from the field entering the fourth quarter. :wallbash3:

Should the NBA count assists on made free throws?
AboveLegit replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
It's also not going to be done because it's simply not a good idea. It would require completely redefining what qualifies as an assist. It's a pass that leads to a basket, not a pass that leads to points scored. If we do it that way we might as well make assists on three pointers worth 1.5 points. -
Wizards changing name back to Bullets?
AboveLegit replied to Newman's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
It's under consideration, and many people here want it to happen, but personally, I don't mind keeping it at the Wizards. Despite the Abe Pollin thing and showing respect to him by not changing it, people just want to bring back the glory days of our franchise (which happens to be when we were called the Bullets). -
Hakeem Olajuwon & Dwight Howard Training Sessions 2010
AboveLegit replied to htown11's topic in Orlando Magic Team Forum
Love the video, Hakeem still has the moves. If Dwight can pick up a few go to moves in the paint, he's going to be unstoppable. -
Yeah you're right, Minnesota is a legitimate Super Bowl contender for sure, but to say they aren't desperate is a little off if you ask me. They have a one year window right now, this is it, all or nothing. Favre is going to be gone after this year. They will do whatever it takes to win now. Does this mean they won't be a playoff time next year? Of course not, because they still have a talented group. But losing Favre hurts them big time. Moss is in a good position right now in terms of solidifying his mark as one of the greatest receivers ever, after this year we could see him going to another Super Bowl caliber team with a great QB. And lets not act like Sidney Rice's injury is the only problem with the Vikings, and that Moss will alleviate all their problems. Their secondary is terrible, they have aging DT's and O-linemen. They also have to extend Sheppard, Henderson, Greenway, Leber, Moss, Rice, Ray Edwards, and Pat Williams at the end of this season.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/wizardsinsider/2010/10/gilbert-arenas-says-he-is-not.html#more It's nice to know where Arenas stands with this situation, but I'm sure trade rumors and speculation will continue to pop up till the deadline.

Finally watched the game, and I'm impressed. I think JeVale is finally learning the NBA game. He's looked much more aggressive on the boards than he did in his first two years with the team, so I wouldn't be totally surprised if his rebounding rate increased significantly this season. With Wall at PG, the team will attack the basket more, which will make rebounding much easier for McGee and Blatche. Last year most will recall me criticizing McGee for constantly falling for the shot fake, but now he's not jumping as much and is instead, looking to utilize his wing span to disrupt shooters. He's more selective with leaving his feet, and is timing his jump better. Blatche looked superb last night. There were a few plays where he took it straight at Brendan Haywood, Tyson Chandler, and Dirk Nowitzki, and used his footwork to score in the paint. He's picked up on the fundamentals, isn't over dribbling now, and is feeding off of Wall and the rest of the team. There were a few instances last night where Arenas looked good in catch and shoot situations. I'm not going to get overly optimistic, but I will keep my eye on how he works without the ball. And what else can I say about Wall. He's everything I expected. He's lightning quick, a great passer, and is a smart decision maker. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsDK6ZBB-zY&feature=player_embedded I think only a handful of NBA PG's can make that pass with ease. Rondo, Paul, Williams, Nash, and Kidd.

With Moss gone, it kind of hurts Welkers' value within the offense. Defenses will now focus on him, so it should give the young WR's and TE's an opportunity to shine. I think Tate is ready for the big time, and the coaching staff there is really high on him. Before he was hurt in UNC, the dude was beasting. He led the NCAA in all purpose yards for the first 3 or 4 games, and was amazing as a returner and as a deep threat receiver. It was him and Nicks doing work in that offense, Tate got all the press, and Nicks was the possession receiver. I believe he has recovered, and is gonna be a pro bowl type guy next year. The Patriots saw a desperate team in Minnesota, and took advantage like they've done in years' past.
-
Let's not forget Bellichek has won a few Super Bowls without stud receivers, but that was when the Pats had a dependable defense...so I'm sure they will focus on that during the draft and in the offseason. I'm surprised, but its not out of the ordinary that the Patriots did this. This is a team that released their pro bowl safety and captain Lawyer Milloy on the eve of the regular season a few years ago. Vikings are going for it all this season. They haven't offered Moss an extension, and I really do not see him sticking in Minnesota after this season.

Idea for new award/modifying the MVP award
AboveLegit replied to Nitro's topic in General NBA Discussion
Agreed with ECN and RD. I believe the NBA should have an MVP award and a Most Outstanding Player award. This gives players that aren't fortunate enough to play with 50+ win teams a chance to get recognized for their accomplishments that season. -
Yeah right now people are saying he is a better defender (and is capable of being on Rondo's level), better vision, passing skills, and has better shot mechanics than Derrick. If he can improve his jumper, which I'm sure he can with his work ethic and commitment to the game, he's going to be a superstar.
-
Well I think it's safe to say that in 3 years Nash won't be a top 5 PG anymore, so it isn't much of a stretch considering how good he already looks to be.
