  1. Should be an easy win for us, I'm interested in seeing how Trent Williams plays after his injury. Hopefully we get a chance to see Haynesworth in the game as well. Expecting big things from our offense tomorrow as well.
  2. It's not true that the Lakers won game 7 because of their size? That Perkins injury was a huge loss for the Celtics, and the Lakers exploited it. While Drew may have been a non factor that game, you can't deny the fact that he is a vital piece to this team, and in years to come.
  3. I think that Bynum's injuries for the most part have been freak accidents, with this I mean, yeah, he's injury prone but some people make it seem more than what he really is, after all, Bryant crashed into his knee and Lamar Odom was part of his first big injury, this last one was his "fault" but it wasn't a biggie, the timing was the crappy thing about it. I'd rather see him miss time in the beginning of the season than seeing him get hurt midway through the year. I watched the PJax press conference and he mentioned that he's going to experiment with Bynum playing in 7-8 minute spurts throughout the games and see how he handles himself. We're probably going to end up seeing them take the approach the Rockets are taking with Yao, and that's completely fine, because like you said, we know the Lakers don't need him. When the playoffs roll around, the Lake show will be going strong and will have a much stronger bench as opposed to last year. The Lakers are built so that they don't need one man exerting all his energy night in and night out. It's why Bryant still has a good 5 years or so left in his career. Pau, Ron and Odom are near the same age, Fish already has his replacement set with Steve Blake, and if the Bynum experiment works out in their favor, they will be set for a long time. I am a big fan of chemistry, I absolutely hate bringing in players when it's not necessary. The Lakers are the defending champs, they shouldn't even consider bringing in a big name guy. Everything is set in place for them to three peat, and I'm going to go ahead and say this team coming into the season is stronger than last years.
  4. Yeah but what's better than having two 7'0 centers on a team with a 6'11 point forward on the bench? It really doesn't get better than that. They're the only team with that much versatility, and it's scary. The Lakers are set at every position, and there's no guarantee that Bynum will be injured every season. Yeah you can base your predictions off his track record, but as soon as he plays one full season in this league, they will regret it completely. And while I agree the Lakers have won plenty of series without him, they also managed to win game 7 because of their size. If they face the Heat in the finals (which is likely), you're going to need all the size you can get to stop LeBron, Wade, and Bosh, all three that rely on attacking the basket.
  5. Yeah but it's also smart on Melo's part. He knows how much leverage he has on the situation, and he's using it to his advantage. If I were the Nuggets, knowing that all he wants is to go to New York, I say just deal him there and get whatever they offer you.

  8. Interception....wow. Choke job by Arkansas.
  9. Way to go Arkansas....if they don't score now, this is going to be a major let down. They had this game.
  10. The reason why the Lakers have the advantage on so many teams is because of their size. They have to keep Bynum because he feeds off of Pau and Odom. They don't need a great PG, they don't need a Melo type player.
  11. Picked off again! But I must say, it wasn't a terrible throw, just better coverage.
  12. Highly doubt that would be convincing to Melo. They needed more than just an aging SG....
  13. Picked off! Huge play by Arkansas, they need it.
  14. Mark has 12 rushes this season, 3 of them are for 45 yards or more... Wow.
  15. Wow, Mark Ingram TD, he's scary good. What a stiff arm.
  16. In 2005-06, the Suns were without Amare Stoudemire the entire season and managed to win 54 games with Nash and Marion leading the way. I'm not trying to compare that team to this years' team, but I do feel like it generates a solid comparison. Boris Diaw had a career year that season averaging 13-7-6, most notable for a few triple doubles he had that year. Hedo's game is quite similar to Diaws, a big guy that is a very good playmaker, but with a much better shot that can stretch the floor and better passing ability. I'm interested in seeing how he plays alongside Nash. Hedo doesn't like playing off the ball, his impact on the game relies on whether or not he has the ball in his hands or not, and he's pretty average without it. I think anything effecting Nash's game will have a negative impact on this offense as well. But that pick n roll with Hedo and Nash will definitely be a huge plus to this squad, and I'm sure it will cause a ton of problems for opposing defenses. Where do you see the Suns this year? Will this Hedo-Nash duo workout or will this lead to the front office thinking about rebuilding?
  17. Love what the Terps are doing today, the run game has been a problem, but that 56 yarder was nice. Offense is looking good and Danny O'Brien is looking good under center.
  18. This is probably just an attempt to seek more opportunities if anything. Eventually this deal will go down. I like the aggressiveness this new GM is showing, he wants to get as much value for Melo as possible, can't say I blame him. Update:
  19. My guess is college. But he did lose interest in this site after being attacked by a few members here. If I see him around, I'll try to convince him to come back. With Gyula disappearing every month, this season is going to be a very boring one for me as a Wizard fan on OTR. -_-
  20. It's either that or staying with Denver because Chicago and New York didn't have the pieces to pull off a deal. And it seemed pretty clear that Denver didn't want to deal him to Houston or LA either... This is a great move for Melo. New Jersey is in a great position right now, they have the financial flexibility to sign future FA's, and it's no guarantee that they're done with trading for players. They have an up and coming big man who has a good chance of making the All Star Game this season, a proven head coach in this league, and now a guy who they can successfully build around.
  21. It's a combination of a few things.. - Seeing his good friends forming a trio convinced him that he needs to do the same in order to win now. - There's not many good centers out there, and the Nuggets don't have the proper pieces to get them one that can put them over the Lakers. - He wants to go back to the East coast.
  22. So basically, a team has to step up to the plate or else Melo is headed to Jersey. He should start packing his bags because I honestly don't think another team will make a serious run at him in the next 3 days.
