  1. Sorry I wasn't on to read the PM magicballa sent me. If I was, I would have joined immediately. I'm up for the league still however. I suggest just making a new one since we now know who's committed.
  2. Nah that's not what I'm saying at all, you misinterpreted my post dude. All of the lights are on Dallas this week (and almost every week), they have to win. I'm the last one to put much emphasis on a week 3 win (because you are right, it is only week 3 and Dallas can still bounce back), but according to history, only 3 teams have. And are you telling me pressure doesn't get to players? Do you think they are super humans?
  3. http://www.bulletsforever.com/2010/9/24/1708606/report-wizards-andray-blatche-agree-on-three-year-contract-extension Here's what the guy who broke the story on Bullets Fever had to say about it, it basically summarizes exactly what I'm thinking: Getting Andray Blatche for what basically amounts to the value of the mid-level exception? Wow. That's a flippin' steal, regardless of the new CBA. The fact that they've restructured it to lower the cap hit in the post-CBA years makes it even better. Ernie Grunfeld and his team deserve major kudos for this one.
  4. The East definitely has more of the upper echelon of teams in the league. The Heat, Magic, Celtics, Bulls, Nets (if they get Melo), Bucks, and possibly the Hawks can win 50 games this year. As for the West, the Lakers, Thunder, Blazers, Jazz, Mavs, Rockets, Spurs, and possibly the Suns can make a run at 50 wins this year. I'd give the advantage to the East due to the amount of power houses and contenders they have.
  5. Oh come on Fish, records can potentially make a huge impact on a players' mindset during games. Especially for the Cowboys, who had such high expectations this year. Only 3 teams in the history of this league have made the playoffs after starting 0-3.
  6. Happy Bday RD, I'll buy you a Gilbert Arenas jersey because I know how much you've been wanting one.
  7. I really wish DJ panned out in the NBA, but his game just never translated. Best of luck to him, he was fun to watch during his days in Maryland.
  8. It's about time, Merry Christmas Warrior fans. Now this franchise can finally move on and build their team.
  9. The Heat trio has virtually no interior defense, while the Kobe/Shaq duo beats them on both perimeter D and interior D. We're talking about two of the top 3 best players at their respective position. Most talk about the numbers and Shaq's superior efficiency, but it's hardly brought up that Phil expected a young Kobe to guide a heavily pressured Laker squad down the stretch of close games. Real man to man defense can't be put into numbers, casual fans can't grasp what Kobe brought on that end. Kobe was without a doubt- the best defender on that Laker team and the league took notice of a young/energetic Kobe Bryant's consistent defense by tabbing him an All-NBA defender And I don't even need to discuss Kobe's offensive game in his prime, the numbers speak for itself. And as for Shaq, he's quite possibly the most dominant player ever. Give me the dominant big man (which is a rarity in this league) and one of the greatest offensive threats in league history to build my team around. You've essentially added two significant aspects of basketball, a post player, and a wing. All that is left are players that can shoot the ball. With the Heat trio, you still have a huge issue with your interior. Shaq would take Bosh out of the game without breaking a sweat, while wrecking havoc on offense. Not to mention he would cause problems for Wade and LeBron when they decide to drive in on him and Kobe.
  10. http://www.xxlmag.com/online/?p=92041 Looking forward to both albums.

  12. http://dc.sbnation.com/washington-wizards/2010/9/23/1706667/wizards-jersey-colors-red-white-blue-ernie-grunfeld Finally. Wizards fans have been asking about this for a while now.
  13. Probably Bynum, he's the most recognized player of the three as of now. But if Oden is able to stay healthy, I think he will put up the better numbers.
  14. Good move for Philly, I like Craig Brackins, he could end up being a solid role player off the bench.
  15. In 94 and 00, two of Scottie's youngest 3 seasons without MJ, Scottie placed 3rd in MVP voting twice. Scottie Pippen stifled some of the greatest players of all-time in key playoff moments. Magic, Stockton, Payton, Drexler. They all got theirs, but he took them out of their game like no one could. The fact that he could do this to such a great range of players was amazing. To cover Magic is one thing. To turn around later down the line and make Gary Payton look like a SG with bad PG skills as he tried to dribble to halfcourt is something else. It's one thing to be a great defensive player. Dennis Rodman was. But then to turn around and lead a 6-time champion in ASSISTS from the small forward position... that's something else. The 1994 Bulls lost to the Knicks in fact because they suffered massive scoring droughts. Scottie Pippen was very good, but he was unable to be the guy who could come down and get you the sure basket when you needed it. He was more of an overall facilitator. But again, that's something you can't completely knock on him for, he had the greatest player ever for most of his career taking over games. When you're in the situation that Phil Jackson was in, you have to go with your best shooter, not your best player. Not every great player will hit that shot, and your more than likely to win the game with your best shooter. It should be noted that Pippen missed 10 games during the '93-'94 season. The Bulls went 4-6 in those games. The year prior he only missed 1 game. It would be completely reasonable to assume that Pippen would have equaled the 57 win mark without Jordan had he not missed those extra 9 games. And without Jordan, who knows how good Pippen would have been in the playoffs? The only true fact we have in this argument is that Pippen took the Bulls to game 7 of the second round. I'd say that's pretty good for a guy who was never a true #1 option before.. And who's to say he doesn't develop an aggressive mentality if he was the #1 option for multiple years? Things could have been a lot better for Pippen statistically and individually if he had been the franchise guy all those years for the Bulls.
  16. Not sure how I feel about this one. At some point, Dallas is bound to break out for a big game, it's just a matter of when. I do feel like Romo has the ability to really tear apart this Texan defense. He has the mobility to move out of the pocket which is a huge advantage against that great Dline and the receivers around him to exploit that extremely weak secondary. But the Texans can do the same, if not better, when they have the ball in their hands. Going to be an interesting game indeed, for now I'll go with the Texans in another shootout. No one in that Cowboy secondary has the ability to cover Andre Johnson.
  17. Yeah it's something I've been pushing for ever since these VJax out of San Diego reports first came out. We lost out on Boldin, Owens (although I was never pushing for that disaster), and Houshmanzadeh. We need a reliable passing attack now more than ever due to our terrible backfield.
  18. I think the Redskins are still trying to put together an offer for him. We could definitely use him as we gear towards our potential playoff run (I don't want to get too ahead of myself, but I feel somewhat confident). They should have traded him, their asking price was way too high, now they're probably looking at a third rounder.
  19. He's one of the greatest two way players ever. Pippen's easily one of the all time greats. Without him Jordan doesn't do it, without Jordan he doesn't win it either. However, the Bulls did a great job during that one season during Jordan's first retirement where he led them through the playoffs, coming fairly close to even being a finals team. The next year when they lost to the Magic (Shaq and Penny), Jordan was not in his prime. Anyone who watched the Bulls after Jordan came back can tell you that, however, once he had a summer to fully get back into shape and shake off the rust he was the same old Jordan. Anyway, as for Pippen, the guy not only put up excellent all-around statistics, but the guy ran the team as well like a point forward. He played a very smart game and never tried to play past his limits when he was in his prime. When he was needed to he could always step up and make things happen.
  20. Wow is he retarded? Did he honestly just say Jordan made Pippen and that Pippen would not be this hall of famer that he is today without Jordan? He is on crack.
  21. You guys really value talent, and that's fine and all, but when we're talking about the best WR, you can't stop Andre Johnson's overall play.
