Carmelo Anthony to the Lakers?
AboveLegit replied to magicbalala245's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Didn't one of the reports (a while ago) mention that Denver wants to trade him out of the West? I don't think it's a good idea to trade Bynum and Odom either. The reason why LA has such an advantage coming into this season especially, is because of their talented front court. The duo of Kobe/Melo sounds good on paper, but I honestly do not know how well they will perform together. They don't seem to complement eachother very well if you ask me. -
It's more than just the running game. I think the three headed monster can work if their Oline straightens up (which probably won't happen this season). It's because of the Oline that Romo hasn't had a good game yet. He has all the tools to succeed, great receiving corps, a talented backfield, and a good arm. The secondary is a huge question mark as well, their corners are overrated if you ask me, and the safeties are suspect. The only reason teams are afraid of that Dallas defense is because of their pass rushers, other than that, they are handled fairly easily. Needless to say, I think they need a win against the Texans. The Cowboys as a whole are talented enough to win the majority of their games and make some noise during the season, but they lack the overall focus and mentality to really be a "championship caliber" team. As cliche as that sounds, it's true. They shoot themselves in the foot with dumb penalties and mental errors, their coaching is all over the place on offense, and this season their lack of depth on the o-line is catching up to them big time.

Jets do a good job disguising what they're doing defensively coverage wise and everything else... as they should defense is their identity. Brady did a good job of getting the ball out of his hands yesterday, but the Jets knew where he would go with the football when under pressure and they knew that Brady couldn't hurt them with anything other than Welker getting 1st downs. Plain and simple, the Patriots don't have enough and they don't run the ball well enough... the Patriots are predictable and what they do offensively can be dictated by the defense. They've been finesse for a while now.

http://www.nba.com/2010/news/features/david_aldridge/09/20/morning-tip/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt1 I just hope he gets fully healthy, he played fairly well for us in those 4 games, and will probably end up starting once he gets back. I'm interested to see what Al Thornton is able to do now as the starter.

Despite my favorite team losing to the Texans yesterday due to Gary Kubiak calling a timeout right as our kicker hit a 52 yard field goal in overtime, I personally like the strategy. It's an intelligent move by the coaching staff, and gives them an opportunity to have an impact on the game. What are your thoughts on it?

Report: Jacobs will ask Giants to trade him
AboveLegit replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
No way this happens. With the way the Giants played last night, they will need him to block in the backfield. That Offensive line is terrible, Eli has no help. When he has the protection, he is able to make all the throws. They have a shot at winning this division, no way will they trade away one of their best offensive threats. -
Those championship teams also had one bench player that made an impact in big games. Believe it or not, LeBron and Wade might not be having great nights because they aren't great shooters, that's where Mike comes into play, and where he most excels. As for the glue guy, no one thought Rondo would emerge as a good player for the Celtics. They thought he wasn't ready to be a starting PG on a championship team, but Doc Rivers gave him a chance. You gotta believe Spoelstra is thinking the same thing with Chalmers. I'm sure when they need to close out games late in the fourth, they will substitute Miller in for Chalmers, and use him as a spot up guy. If all fails and Chalmers doesn't live up to expectations, I can also see Eddie House being inserted into the starting line up. They need Mike to come off the bench and provide some offense in that second unit.

Ed Davis Injures Knee, Out At Least 6 Weeks
AboveLegit replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
Ah, my fault, it was his wrist, not his knee. But what I said about Brandon Roy is true, NBA teams were concerned with it as he entered the draft, and he turned out fine. -
Ed Davis Injures Knee, Out At Least 6 Weeks
AboveLegit replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
He had the same problem in college if I'm not mistaken. But that's exactly what NBA scouts were worried about when Brandon Roy first entered the league, so I wouldn't panic just yet. For his sake though I hope he gets fully healthy before participating in any basketball related activities Would hate to see this as a lingering problem throughout the season. -
Peyton looked sharp, the defense bounced back from that terrible showing last week against the Texans, I think this is a start of a good win streak for the Colts. Their next few games include Denver, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Washington, and Houston.

Dwight Freeney is a monster. He's running through that Giants Oline.
-
Even after his great performance, Andy is making the right decision by starting Kolb in week 3. Just give him a fair chance, I can see him still starting him week 4 regardless of what he does next week. It's going to take a lot from Andy to give up on Kolb.

Prime Kobe and KG vs T mac and Duncan
AboveLegit replied to Hawks Fly High's topic in Player Comparisons
While I do agree to a certain extent, I think you are exaggerating a lot. Mcgrady has played on some historically bad teams and has gone down swinging every time. One of the biggest questions in league history will be what McGrady could have done in that stretch (01'-04') with better teammates. Or even just a healthy Grant Hill. Kobe was indestructible, labeled as one of NBA's top defenders. Tmac was great, extremely elite player, him and Kobe had some of the best match ups ever. But Tmac was more laid back, he was more offense oriented. He just reminds me a lot of Penny Hardaway, both started off great and things just never materialized the way we all expected it to. And to be perfectly fair, the margin of efficiency between Kobe and Tmac aren't as far off as you think. In Tmac's highest scoring season, he was 45%FG and 38% from three while Kobe was 45%FG and 34% from three in his highest scoring season. Kobe has the longevity, consistency, and durability over Tmac, which eventually puts him on top. As for the thread itself, I think you have to go with KG and Kobe. I'll take Duncan individually over KG in his prime, but it's extremely close. -
No way in hell are they overrated. Rose is going to be a superstar very soon in this league. They were the best rebounding team last year, and they only improved that facet of their team by adding Carlos Boozer. This addition also gives them a reliable scoring option, not to mention a guy who can feed off Rose's dribble penetration. Let's not forget, they added actual knock down shooters to the offense, which will only help Rose. He now has players along the three point line, which makes his drive even more scary. Pair that with a post presence, a healthy wing player in Luol Deng, and a defensive minded coach, you got yourself a contender in the East. Their bench has to be one of the best in the league as well. Ronnie Brewer, Taj Gibson, Kyle Korver, CJ Watson, Keith Bogans, and Flip Murray provide them with great depth.

lmao, well it was the owner of BSX, Chitown.
-
This is so gay, we threw this game away completely. Our run game is atrocious and our secondary sucks. I cannot believe this. Double cover the best WR in the game, it is that simple. Pathetic performance in the second half.
-
What a game so far. Our defense has been terrific for the most part, we got a pick on Shaub early on, that definitely boosted our confidence. We're pressuring that line, just gotta watch out for Foster, he's juking out defenders left and right. McNabb is playing great right now, the offense is clicking now.

Is this Bears team legit? Despite having a terrible offensive line, they managed to put up 27 points, and adjusted to what the Cowboys were doing all game long. Having Urlacher and Peppers is a huge plus to that defense, of course it isn't the defense that took them to the Super Bowl, but it's damn good.
-
FUMBLE!!! Thats game folks. Just hold onto the ball, burn the clock, and the Bears surprisingly go to 2-0, while the Cowboys fall to 0-2.
-
Thanks guys. I'll be focusing on adding more discussion to the site, bringing in new members hopefully, and making sure everyone praises John Wall as much as possible in their posts.

Touchdown!
-
Yes! Missed FG! Come on offense, produce something.
-
Good defense by chicago. The offense needs to produce now, they can't afford to have a three and out with the field position they're in.

Come on Chicago...
