[Completed] NBA's greatest small forward?
AboveLegit replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
No, it shows that AT THIS POINT, Bird is the better player. Statistically he is, and he's more successful than LeBron. If I were to create a greatest players list, who's more likely to be in the top 10, LeBron or Bird? Would it look good to have someone who has accrued less stats, less MVP awards, and less rings over a player who we all consider to be the one who brought back excitement (with the help of Magic) into this world? -
lol Like what?

[Completed] NBA's greatest small forward?
AboveLegit replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
Why not? We're talking about all time, right? What else am I supposed to bring up then? It's everyone's career we're putting into perspective, I won't shorten Bird's career just to make it a "fair" comparison. If people are willing to consider LBJ here, then be sure to look at the disadvantages, or I will just bring them up. -
BREAKING NEWS: No Jail Time For Gilbert Arenas
AboveLegit replied to The Regime's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
He still needs to win back my respect, I still support Gil and I'm very happy for him, but what he did was just not right and it hurt the team, but more importantly, it was the opposite of what Abe Pollin supported. -
[Completed] NBA's greatest small forward?

Take out the championships, and please at least try to look at this more objectively. In 13 NBA seasons, Larry Bird has... - 21,791 points - 5695 assists - 8974 rebounds - .496% FG - .376% 3PFG - 3 MVP's - 2 Finals MVP Aside from total career points, Bird doubles LeBron in every other statistical category... So what exactly were you saying no to? It's absolutely erroneous to even think a player who has 1 MVP on his belt and 7 NBA seasons can compete with a player who is considered a top 5-10 player of all time. I understand you grew up watching LBJ as I did, but respect what the legends of this league have accomplished. So don't give me this bull[expletive] about people constantly talking about rings, because even without the rings argument, this whole debate favors Larry Bird. -

Very nice, good for him. Now hopefully he can live up to his word and win back the respect of the fanbase and his teammates. Not surprised he didn't get jailtime, I knew he wouldn't. He's continuing to rebuild his reputation. -
Pullen is so clutch. My god, this kid is some talent.

Pullen is so clutch. Damn he was so close on that three at the end of the fourth. He had a nice look at it.

[Completed] NBA's greatest small forward?

Stop being so narrow minded... It's clearly obvious there's more to it than just rings. There's not one thing you can legitimately say in this type of argument that supports LeBron. Larry Bird has him in almost every statistical category. He's just as good of a defender, better shooter, just as good of a rebounder, close to LeBron when it comes to passing, and he's a better leader. -
I assume living in Kansas, you're either a fan of Kansas or Kansas State, but never both? That's just like here where I live, there's a good mix between Redskins and Ravens fans, but you never ever see a fan of both. I hate the Ravens, and Baltimore is like 20 mins away from me.

Amazing. Butler ftw!

Kobe still has Durant (and LeBron) on defense. Kobe still is a better leader as well. Durant however, is the better scorer.

Blatche benched after spat with coach
AboveLegit replied to JWaLL's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
IF he's in the NBA, playing the way he has been, he won't be a role player. -
I've listened to most of his songs, I heard about him before he blew up, and I never liked his music. No substance in his songs, his lyrics are boring as [expletive], and his rhymes are whack. But of course, it is my personal opinion..
-
In other words, underground rap is irrelevant in this world?
-
lol I don't listen to [expletive]ty mainstream music if that's what you mean..

What an ending, wow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNpsgXrQwzQ The arena exploded.

Rubio's assist numbers will be insane when he comes over, no doubt about that. He already has like 6apg in Europe... and it's way tougher to get assists over there. In the NBA he's capable of averaging double digits. Still, his defense is suspect as he mostly gambles for steals... on the other end he can't score consistently to save his life. Facing much more athletic opposition will be tougher for him as his body is not as NBA-ready as you'd want. He's a team player, he's a true PG with a pass first mentality. He's a Steve Nash in the sense that he could make players who are OK look good. I watch his games on NBA TV, and I'm pretty impressed with his basketball IQ and creativity. Not very turnover prone, so kill the Jason Williams comparisons. You're going to see him put up Rondo-esque numbers till he improves his jumpshot (meaning he will be averaging 5-10ppg, and 6-10apg with a few steals). How many true starting PG's are there in the NBA exactly? Let's make a list... - Steve Nash - Rajon Rondo - Jose Calderon - Jason Kidd I might throw Deron Williams and Billups to the list, but I'm a bit hesitant with the amount of points they're capable of racking up. The NBA as we know it is filled with combo guards, there isn't many pure PG's out there, which tends to throw off defenses. These PG's are able to expand potential on the floor, they bring out the best in their teammates, and they know how to run an offense. Assuming Rubio starts when he comes to the US (let's not look too much into this, focus on the topic please), will his ability to pass the ball and run an offense give him an advantage over most international players coming from overseas? Does he need to improve his jumpshot in order to be an effective player?

Another pathetic third quarter for us. Granger lit us up. 13 losses in a row.... wow.

Blatche benched after spat with coach
AboveLegit replied to JWaLL's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
The difference is, Roy is smart and mature.. Saunders said that Blatche wasn't playing D. Given the potential level of idiocy we're dealing with here (Blatche) he's probably just too dumb to realize he was playing bad D, or has his head up his [expletive], so Saunders is definitely right on that topic, but it seems Blatche's criticism (of Saunders) is mostly focused on the fact that Saunders claimed he refused to the go back in the game afterward, something AB denies. Also, Saunders alleges that there were 3 coaches sent over to talk to him and each time he shut them down. Blatche is definitely an idiot for his remarks regarding the earlier parts of the incident, like when they took him out and he "wasn't hearin' none o' dat." However, given what we know, I don't know what to believe about the situation as of now. Blatche is still responsible for his actions, but for all we know, they might not be as bad as they appear right now.... but they very well could be. -
Halftime... Dray is playing, played nearly the whole first half, and has 16 points. Not bad.
