Next great international Big man(Predicted to go number 4) This year
AboveLegit replied to Years's topic in NBA Draft History
People call him the next Arvydis Sabonis, which is a pretty stunning comparison. If Sabonis had come over when he was drafted (the second time by the Blazers when it was legal), it might have changed the NBA landscape a good bit. All of sudden that Trail Blazers team has a core of Drexler, Porter, Kersey, and Sabonis (plus they probably still make the trade for Buck Williams), that's an imposing line up. Even Whatifsports has them beating the Bulls in '92 with a 31 year old Sabonis (with playoff adjusted minutes). Anyway, this kid looks to have a lot of skills but the scouts at the Nike Hoops Summit seem to be split on him, ranging from not that impressed to the best European prospect that they've seen in ages. Probably needs to add another 20-30 lbs. but I did like what I saw from him. One thing I liked in particular is he isn't too unselfish in the post like so many Euro guys are. He knows when he needs to score and when he has the perfect advantage on the block. I'll wait until we go too far on him, but I can see some similarities. However, he has a long way to go in every way to reach Sabonis status. -
According to hoopshype's front page, Devin Harris is no longer the centerpiece of the New Jersey Nets and is available for trade. This is an interesting situation, they want a star player in return along with some expiring contracts. Do you think the Wizards can go after him? I've never been a fan of completely rebuilding, I always thought it's better to build around a young guy rather than finding that core piece. We can easily take on his contract, shed the rest of our cap space by trading Jamison and a few others, and work from there. Devin is only 26 years old with loads of potential, the Wizards can build around him through the draft, and we will be a good place for free agents as he would attract some. We are in a big market, and I'm sure we can pull it off with the way we love to overpay players... http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yfopsyg Butler goes to New Jersey, and hopes they resign him to a longer deal to help attract free agents. They get an expiring contract in Mike James, which will help their chances in 2010.

I was watching ESPNEWS this afternoon, and they had some guys who were at the court house speaking to them right after his court hearing. They were saying how everything is beginning to sink in for Gil, and at one moment, he was standing completely still with his arms to his side, with a complete blank face looking at the ground. They say that's the first time they have seen Gil like this. It's so hard for me to accept this personally, because of how much I admired him these past 5 years, it's tough on him, the fanbase, and the Wizards organization. I'm just worried about his children and his well being right now.

I'd put Kobe, JR Rider, Barkley, and Pippen over Gerald Wallace with ease..

This is just disgusting, I'm still in shock, as is the rest of our loyal fanbase. The worst part is, we're not even sure we can void his contract.

Really liking your style man, nice work.

Did you ever consider Arenas an elite player?
AboveLegit replied to B-Marsh>R-Moss's topic in General NBA Discussion
No. He never played defense, he was just a great scorer and one of the best clutch players in the league. -
Arenas charged with felony
AboveLegit replied to The Regime's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
He can still plea bargain though, so the chances are, he's charged for a misdemeanor I believe. -

Saunders wants commitment from all
AboveLegit replied to JWaLL's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
He needs to get more strict with guys like Nick, Dray, and JeVale. Only then will we see their true potentials. -
Andray Blatche Suspended One Game
AboveLegit replied to JWaLL's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
Blatche is an idiot. He has so much potential, I wish he went to college for a year or two. -
Hope your surgery goes well B.

Wow, just wow. Keep fighting, you don't deserve to go through all this (even when you're away from school and work, you're faced with the Wizards and Redskins. ) I hope you get this stuff taken care of.

Arenas Furor Perfect Example of the NBA's Image Problem
AboveLegit replied to NJNJ's topic in General NBA Discussion
It also worsens the whole situation when Gil says it's his fault and that he meant it as a joke. -
Arenas' Conduct Insults Memory of Pollin
AboveLegit replied to NJNJ's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
Abe means everything to not only the Wizards, but DC. He's done everything for us, and to see someone like Gil, the man Abe trusted and loved, to do something as dumb as this, makes me sick to my stomach. I just can't believe Arenas would do this, I'm literally at loss of words. -
