  1. Sheed has the advantage on offense, and he is the better player on defense. I'd take Sheed over DJ any day of the week.
  2. haha, Oh believe me, I generated a good enough opinion of him after watching his first year with the Wiz.
  3. This just hit me, maybe I'm looking too close into this and I'm not noticing the "obvious answer" here, but hear me out. What do you consider a bust? Is it someone who doesn't reach their true potential based on what you saw of them in college, or is it someone who doesn't live up to the hype? Remember, these are two completely different things here. Take Greg Oden for example, he is what I would call a combination of both hype and talent we had seen of him in HS and NCAA, and now he's in his 3rd year I believe, and has not lived up to standards. Is it too early to call him (or anyone in their third year), a bust? How long does it take to generate a proper opinion of that player?
  4. From a talent standpoint, I love this deal for every team. Great move for Boston, it just makes them that much better. Solid deal for Sac town although I hate Slamming Sammy. He isn't worth his contract, but bigs always get overpaid. I love it for Philly as well. It allows them to help clear up cap space with the move and get some ok pieces. It really only sucks from the standpoint because Speights went down and will be out for a month or two. Hopefully the move would allow Brand to get into the swing of things. Financially I hate it for Boston. It will hurt the team's cap flexibility, especially when it comes to resigning Pierce and (possibly) Allen. I would say Hawes is doing just fine, he's around 10/8 in under 30 mpg. His FG% is low but that's because he shoots a lot of 3's. Shoots FT's very well for a big. He needs to show more of that back to the basket game and old school post moves that were supposed to be his bread and butter coming out of college. I think the addition of Dalemert gives them depth and a legit front court rotation. Besides their 2 young bigs, they had nobody that deserved to play minutes in the post. There are enough minutes for 3 bigs to play 32 mpg each if one can play both post positions (which both Hawes and Thompson can if I'm not mistaken) so I think all 3 of them will play around 30, with performance dictating who gets the rest. I really like what it does for their front court.

  6. Welcome to OTR man, you'll love it here.
  7. -_- I guess Gil will have to drop 60 on the Lakers again.
  8. Glad to be affiliated with OTR! Hope to see a few of you all at BTA! I got a few guys from BTA joining up here soon! :glasses:
  9. Yeah, I go to a ton of Wiz games, normally I don't make these threads unless I see major improvements/changes by our team. I'll probably make another one of these on Wednesday when Jamison comes back. I'm going to the Cleveland/Wiz game on Wed, hopefully we bounce back.
  10. I was at the Verizon Center this evening, ready to see the Wizards break their losing streak. Unfortunately, those plans did not end the way I expected them to. Here's some things to note from the game: - Nick Young did not play, further ruining his reputation with the fans, and Flip Saunders' trust. - Deshawn Stevenson needs to leave, not just the Wizards, but the entire NBA. The man is straight up trash, he's horrible on defense, he made one shot the entire game (that being a wide open shot just outside the foul line), and has no basketball IQ. - So good bye to Mike James, and welcome our next back up PG, Earl Boykins. He can play, he lit up the crowd tonight, everyone loves him and embraced him. He's a straight up baller, he came out ready to play. He's a great floor leader, he's a great passer, and he has a good midrange game. Expect him to play BIG minutes for us this season. - I absolutely LOVE the line up of Boykins, Arenas, Miller, Blatche, and Haywood. It's just great, we have great rebounders in the front court, two spot up shooters, and we just gel. When Caron goes out of the game, expect Flip to come up with this line up, because it's clicking. - Caron's shot finally is looking good, he wasn't hitting it in the first half, but he really turned it on in the third when we extended our lead to 10. - Oh yeah, the refs were horrible AGAIN, not just for us, but for the Pistons.
  11. I'm so glad Jennings is playing like this. I knew him since his senior year in High School (saw a lot of footage of him playing, etc) and instantly, I knew this kid would be something huge in the NCAA. He decided to go overseas, and I hadn't followed him since. When he entered the draft, I was very high on him, this kid is a monster.
  12. Yeah I know a lot of people who go to GMU, it's a good school, I'm also thinking of applying there.
  13. I used to be for having Jordan's jersey retired league-wide, but now I'm leaning more towards Bill Russell's case. The ultimate champion in almost every sport, he opened up doors for many, becoming the first ever Black coach.
  14. Wow RD, I was thinking the EXACT same thing. ... so now Lebron will take Doctor J's #6. Sounds good. His dunks look a lot more like Doctor J's. I was just saying the other day how if Lebron is really The King and destined to be the greatest, than he might want to choose his own digit and make it famous instead of dawning Jordan's. Even though its Doctor J's #6, it doesn't resonate like #23 so it's a good move. I find a few things funny about this though. He wants nobody to wear Jordan's number.... but he switched to Russell's number (I think), a player who should be equally revered. Also, I know it sounds crazy, but given that 2 teams with cap room have 23 retired, this could be another way to tease fans and have them speculating if he's going to Miami or Chicago or, dare I say it, a subtle indication that he is already considering the move, a scenario which I doubt.
  15. This is just great, wow. Great job, the execution is flawless.
  16. perfect description RD. hahahaha, I can't stop watching this video. The replays from the different angles makes it look even funnier.
  17. Yeah that was hilarious. Varejao is such a punk, what a dick move on his part.
  18. I used them as an example along with the Wizards, sorry if the thread was misleading.
  19. This isn't about the Hornets, this is about this topic in general.
  20. We have all witnessed the firing of Byron Scott from the Head Coaching job in New Orleans earlier today, in light of this news, a thought just came to me (as I'm sure it has hit some of you). Is it proper to fire a head coach this early into the season? Is there enough evidence to support the decision made my the front office of that respective team? Or should they wait longer before making a decision? You can make the argument supporting the front office by saying "They are trying to save their season." But you can also support the other side of things by saying "The coach is still adjusting to the new season, he needs more time." Last season, the Washington Wizards attempted to save their season (which turned out to be a complete train wreck), by firing their head coach Eddie Jordan after a 1-10 start. This season, the New Orleans Hornets fired their head coach Byron Scott after a 3-6 start. What's your taking on this whole topic?
