  1. I think it's an indication that Dumars at least expects a solid top four or five seed next season, which further indicates he's planning on some noteworthy free agent moves. If you're waiting on free agent moves till next year, you don't bother firing the coach.
  2. I think the best SG/SF for the dollar that's now unrestricted is Marquis Daniels. Good on ball defender, good rebounder, gets his baskets inside the arc. He is not a good perimeter shooter, but Cleveland doesn't need him to be. He would be able to be the first guard off the bench and provide instant playability for the team. Delonte and Mo could handle the point guard duties, with *cough* *cough* Gibson playing a LIMITED role. He would be the option A for the guard position. If they have a shot to get Villanueva, and its unlikely that MD takes the LLE offer, then Grant Hill or Parker would be their next option. If they got Daniels, though, I would imagine seeing either Channing Frye or Chris Wilcox come to Cleveland as well.
  3. Very nice write up Erick. Always was a fan of your writing. I just don't see how you can give Washington a C, they basically traded two worthless players and a fifth pick (if we drafted Rubio, there was no guarantee he would stay in D.C.) for two productive, developed players who will make an impact on our squad. If there's one thing we lacked other than size, it was inconsistent guard play, and in previous years when Gil was healthy, it was a another scorer in the backcourt. Foye brings a lot to the table, for one, he fills in the hole at SG, he gives us instant offense off the bench, and most importantly (and God Forbid), if Gil were to get injured again, we would still be a playoff team with the roster we have. Now we also acquired Mike Miller, who currently has 9 million left in his expiring contract, we can do two things, start him and add size and a shooter to our backcourt, or use him as trade bait to acquire a big man this off season with another one of our expirings Mike James, which also shortens the amount of guards we have.
  4. Gordon, at the end of both careers, I think Ben Gordon will end up he more successful one. He will eventually slide into the starting line up on a different team, prove how good he actually can be as a starter, and win games. He is a legitimate 20+ppg player.

    Shoutbox

Yeah, but it was taken off.
  6. Eh, I don't think the Wizards deserve an A. When I first heard about the trade, I was puzzled, and didn't think it was the right move. I still believe we could've waited, and listened to more offers as they came along. I think the Amare based deal could still be in the works without Caron in it, we could've fiddled with it to please the Suns front office more. I will give them a B.
  7. RBS went downhill, I think it was Danny who posted the link to here, I saw it, and registered.

    Shoutbox

I don't think we should add it this early, I think RD wants to keep this level of activity around the board, installing a shoutbox would only lower the activity rate.
  9. I'm entering my Junior year of H.S. right now I'm looking at University of Maryland College Park, which I'm probably going to go to.
  10. As long as he doesn't put anyone important on the team in trade rumors, he won't be fired. He has pledged his allegiance to the big 3, so we won't be seeing them in any trade rumors. The only thing stopping us from having a successful season is, like always, injuries.

  13. You had to know this would happen with the requirements China put on him in his career to play for their national team. No one that size can go so many seasons playing an NBA schedule and for a countries national squad. It was inevitable and I'm surprised he lasted this long without serious long term problems.
  14. Exactly, KG won't be playing a full 82 game season anymore, they need Glen playing heavy minutes once again if they don't make any moves in the off season. I still cannot believe Danny put Rondo on the block still, it's so foolish of him.
  15. 1. Dwyane Wade 2. Brandon Roy 3. Joe Johnson 4. Ray Allen 5. Manu Ginobli
  16. Well if we do decide to trade for a starting big man (which seems pretty evident at this point with the recent moves), we will be moving Mike Miller and Mike James, two expiring contracts (Miller: 9 mill, James:6 mill). I would love to go after Chris Kaman or Camby, they would give us a reliable post presence. I do think Haywood is being overlooked a lot, if you watched him play prior to his injury, he was playing at a high level, much to the liking of Eddie Jordan and Ernie Grunfeld. He will be guaranteed the starting spot if they decide to stay content with their roster, he was great on defense, and was developing a solid hook shot in the paint. I think he will do well in Flip's offense.
  17. 1. The Dark Knight When I first saw the movie, I couldn't believe how well it was done and how well they cast and crew handled the passing of the late great Heath Ledger. Not only did it surpass all predictions, it did it by a significant margin, and thus, was the most successful movie of 2008. 2. Slumdog Millionare Slumdog Millionaire is a very good but it is in no way original. They've been making the same movie for decades. Have you ever seen a Frank Capra film? This type of film was one of his staples (the poor kid makes good and finds his true love). It's filmed a local that isn't used very often but don't mistake that for originality. People do not realize that this movie has been out for a while (before it got popular) and movies like this are constantly produced and released in foreign countries. This is the first movie Americans have got to watch that truly makes them realize the adversity suffered in the slums of many countries. It isn't the number 1 movie of 2008. 3. Ironman Ok, I do not know how this movie cannot be in anyone's top 5, it is everything you want in a real superhero movie, Robert Downey Jr did a fabolous job on the movie, and has been overshadowed tremendously by Heath Ledger's performance in The Dark Knight. This movie really jumpstarted Downey's career, and made the character of Tony Stark a true hero. 4. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button One of my favorites from Brad Pitt's long resume of movies, the award winning movie gives the audience a great insight on the life of Benjamin, as he faced life, death, and love. 5. Wall-E One of the best animated movies of our time, a great movie for the younger audience, and it has to crack my top 5. It is a Pixar masterpiece, and is definetly not going unnoticed in my list. 6. Tropic Thunder The star studded cast of Robert Downey Jr, Jack Black, Ben Stiller, and Tom Cruise, it is no wonder this movie was a huge hit in the boxoffice. It has to go down as one of the greatest comedies of all time. 7. The Wrestler A great drama about a wrestler who is lost in his world. This movie really opened my eyes, Mickey Rourke has an amazing performance. 8. Frost/Nixon Another one of my favorite drama movies about a british journalist by the name of David Frost who has captivating interviews with the impeached President Richard Nixon. I think this movie was a result of the amazing job done by the director Ron Howard, a true masterpiece of 2008. 9. Man on Wire After watching this movie, I was outstanded, and wanted to know what the critics has thought. According to a few movie websites (IMDB, Rottentomatoes, Boxoffice Mojo) it is the best reviewed movie of all time. I highly suggest this movie to you all. 10. Richard Jenkins and Hiam Abbas did a magnificent job on this movie. An inspiring movie about a 62 year old economic professor sleepwalking through life, learning to play the piano, the drums, after losing his motivation in teaching and writing. After getting sent to Manhattan by his college for a conference, he learns that a young couple is living in his apartment from a scam, but allows them to stay with them. After a few series of strange events, Walter's life is reinspired and eventually is opened up to a new world and a new life. 11. The Reader 12. Role Models 13. Pineapple Express 14. Gran Torino 15. 18. It wasn't nearly as good as Transformers, but it definitely not as bad as the reviews said it was. All of the critics are Michael Bay haters for sure, I think we all know it. He is overly obsessed with explosions, but I believe it worked well with the sequel. I give it a 6/10, not a great movie, certainly didn't live up to the hype, but the fight scenes were intense.
  19. Steelers or Pats for me. But I have to choose the Steelers at this point only because I have yet to see Brady in action after his injury, I want to see how he performs in the pocket before I make my prediction for the Super Bowl. The Steelers haven't lost much, they still have their core guys returning.
  20. Favorite Team: Washington Redskins Favorite Players: Clinton Portis, LaRon Landry Least Favorite Team: Dallas Cowboys Least Favorite Players: Tony Romo, Eli Manning Anything Else: Redskins will win the NFC East in 2009/1010!
  21. Nas, I don't see how you can choose anyone else. He clearly is the best lyrically, and his albums are nothing less than amazing. He is and always will be better than the second best rapper alive, Jay Z.
  22. Team no doubt. Though I must admit, I only followed KG when he was in Minnesota, but the Wizards and Celtics were always the teams I followed throughout my life and always will be those two.
  23. 1. Wizards/Celtics 2. Celtics/Wizards 3. Rockets 1 and 2 can be flipped, I really cannot decide which team I like more.
