Why does Billups insist on shooting every 3PT shot? It didn't work last year, it's not working now... 2-7 from three so far.

That third quarter was surgical by CP3.

Orlando is choking big time. Jameer Nelson with two huge turnovers that led to 4 easy points for Portland.

Terrible call by the ref on Raja Bell...

I just don't see it. Not only has he stated he doesn't want to leave Phoenix, the organization itself won't get much back for him. Chances are, contenders will go after him, and they won't want to give up a major piece in order to entice the front office. It's why I suspect the Suns are better off keeping Nash, who's clearly one of the best players in their history, rather than trading him for cap space and low picks in future drafts.

What an abysmal night shooting the ball... that was so hard to watch.. Wall's man defense is atrocious, he continued his trend from last season of getting outplayed by mediocre PG's tonight, this time by John Lucas. Our bigs need to learn how to boxout and get positioning in the paint.

Masterful game from Kobe, however, Lakers defense has been terrible. Pau cannot guard on the perimeter.

Flip Saunders on the Hot Seat
AboveLegit replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
Haha, maybe it's me, but I don't see Ted as the type of guy that would pull a Donald Sterling on Flip. I was never sold on Flip's job being in jeopardy in the first place, it's not a move Leonsis would make. He understands this is a process and that things will get ugly at times, but he will stay the course because he was able to make it work with the Capitals. It just goes against everything he believes in, and it wouldn't make sense for him to pay two coaches this season. -
I understand where you're coming from, that definitely wasn't Toronto's best game, as soon as we built a 10+ lead, I just knew it was an off day for the Raps. However, I wouldn't say Toronto lost it as much as Washington won it, simply because this was a completely different effort from the Wiz. When you're not playing hero ball, not forcing the issue, and instead relying on teammates to make plays, good things will happen. This was the first game in which we had over 20 assists, everyone that played today scored, it was a total team effort.

Rose had a great game, but Rubio proved that he could stay in front of him. Love what I saw from Anthony Randolph, the combination of playing with Rubio and playing for Adelman has really helped him grow. He scored efficiently tonight and attacked the basket. Needs to improve his rebounding, he doesn't box out properly.

Flip Saunders on the Hot Seat
AboveLegit replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
His job is safe, Leonsis confirmed it multiple times, and told Flip not to believe anything that has been said. -
Great game tonight, it just makes too much sense to have Booker and Singleton as the starters. Jan proves to be a solid pick for Ernie in this weak draft class, it's clear to me he won't bust, if anything he will be a good role player off the bench, which is fine to me because we really couldn't get anything better with the 6th pick (maybe Markeiff Morris, but I'm not convinced yet). Jan just has great basketball instinct, he knows what to do on the court, and has active hands. He keeps his hands up, gets a lot of deflections, and runs the floor well. He has no identity in the halfcourt set, but that's fine for now. Wall was much more under control today, I think he had 2 turnovers tonight that came very early in the first. He found guys off the screens, and they finally hit their shots. But he must learn how to play off the ball, with his quickness, he needs to cut better to the basket.

Is Kevin Love a superstar?
AboveLegit replied to Check my Stats's topic in Minnesota Timberwolves Team Forum
You're not a superstar unless you play hard on both ends of the court. -

76ers #1 in Hollinger's Power Rankings
AboveLegit replied to Need4Sheed's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
Miami should be #1, but Philly is playing well.. frankly that should be expected of them. People slept on them leading up to the season, but they are coming off a breakout season, have all their core parts back, and Hawes is in a contract year. Doug Collins is on pace to win coach of the year. -
Well BFT looks like you will miss out on seeing the great Andray Blatche tonight. https://twitter.com/#!/cmillscsn FINALLY! Booker and Singleton should be starting regardless.

Flip Saunders on the Hot Seat
AboveLegit replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
He isn't a bad coach by any means, but he isn't the right man for the job. He's not great at developing our players, nor does he help with our lackadaisical defense. We need a young, defensive minded coach.. Either that, or I expect Sam Cassell to be promoted. -
Tickets for this game are .95 cents.

BCS National Championship: #2 Alabama vs. #1 LSU
AboveLegit replied to Cobb's topic in College Football
SMH at me thinking that LSU offense can score 10 points. Alabama's defense is going down as one of the all time greats in college football, what a performance today. -

16-10 Bama over LSU. I think Bama is ready for Jordan Jefferson, and I see Trent Richardson having a good game. -
What coach benefits younger teams?
AboveLegit replied to AboveLegit's topic in General NBA Discussion
His defensive schemes have, and that's the type of coach I want in Washington. Uptempo offenses are great to see, but I've seen it all in Washington, from the Princeton offense to a broken down, simplified motion offense, nothing has worked consistently. Time to focus on defense, and let the offense come in naturally. -

That's a harsh assessment of Flip, if anything he overachieved in Minnesota. 8 straight playoff appearances speak for itself, and the fact that most years they were entering the playoffs as a lower seed. It's safe to say that he got the absolute most of those Wolves teams in the regular seasons and fell to superior teams in the playoffs. I guess you can put the blame on his inability to coach defense, but he simply didn't have enough talent other than 2004, and that's the year Sam Cassell got hurt. Let's also remember Flip had to coach through the Joe Smith debacle, which resulted in the loss of 5 straight years worth of first round picks. They were never able to bring in a star next to Garnett, and it crippled their chances of winning. As for Washington, I would love to bring in a disciple of Greg Popovich's coaching tree, every single one has impressed me to this point. Mike Buldenholtzer, the Spurs lead assistant coach would be perfect.
