  1. 1. Do you believe the NBA will bounce back in terms of fan popularity once the lockout is lifted, or will we see a huge drop off in TV ratings and fan attendance? 2. What are your expectations for James Harden moving forward? Given his play in the playoffs last year, we saw how valuable he is as a playmaker, what exactly is his ceiling (All Star, starter, sixth man)? 3. How do you think Thomas Robinson fairs this year for Kansas? Last season we saw his effectiveness coming off the bench, he was able to "go all out" for 15 or so mpg, but now he is the center of attention and will need to produce big if Kansas wants to compete for a title.
  2. Absolutely hate Duke, but I respect everything Coach K has done. Congrats to him, one of the greatest coaches ever in sports.
  3. Ugly first half, but it's expected. Teague with 6 TO's, if you remember this time last year Brandon Knight had the same problems, so I'm not worried. Teague will be great. Not a huge fan of Terrance Jones, his style of play just doesn't interest me at all. Kidd Gilchrist needs to stick with driving to the lane, I love his potential, but am afraid Jones will take away from his touches.
  4. Did anyone see Keyon Doolings interview? He basically said he has no idea what's next for the players, honestly wouldn't be surprised if they do in fact have no plan in place. No way in hell they win this battle in court. A lot of hardline owners wanted this lockout for a long time in order to squeeze the players as much as they possibly could. Their strategy seemed so clear, they were going to run up the score on the players until some legal action took place, so I guess this was inevitable from the start. What the players don't realize is that suing the NBA doesn't mean a fair deal, in fact, it could end up biting them in the ass. This is a disaster, and when the lockout ends, we'll see just how bad it hurt the league. This could bring the NBA way down, and could take years for it to get to the point it was last year. Stern said the majority of teams were losing money prior to the lockout, just wait till it actually comes back.. Teams could be contracted, lose money, and ratings will plummet.
  5. Not worrying about decertification, all of that talk is being used strictly as a negotiating tactic, much like Stern's ultimatums.
  6. If that's the case, we're all [expletive]ed. Stern doesn't want to negotiate anymore, it's bad enough that we have so many hardline owners.
  7. Yeah, ball is in the players hands now, they better accept this deal. We can get a 72 game season starting on Dec. 15 according to Adam SIlver, which would be great.
  8. Yeah, and the way the university has handled his decade long retirement is evidence of how much power he had over the program.
  9. This is the biggest scandal to hit college football, of course this will be all they're talking about.. IllWill basically said it all, but I'm really interested in seeing what's next to be revealed involving this scandal. I'll go as far as saying Paterno is just as culpable as Sandusky in this case. He could have ignored the problem and simply made Sandusky a pariah around the program, but he did neither, which I think set the tone for everyone else. I have a feeling people wanted to come forward, but feared the idea of tarnishing Paterno's legacy.
  10. Not THAT impressed with it on the first listen, going to give it another run after MNF.
  11. Kevin Martin: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/sam_amick/11/07/kevin.martin.nba.labor/index.html#ixzz1d47JTZwG
  12. So glad Alec Baldwin turned down The Fugitive. One of my favorite movies ever, Harrison Ford was amazing in it.
  13. I hope we stack the box and force Alex Smith to beat us. But we're losing this game no matter what, we couldn't put up a single point against Buffalo, I got no faith in this offense. The defense has been great, the offense is just pathetic.
  14. He also talks shit about Dwight Howard, and talks about how the Lakers were disrespectful towards Brian Shaw by letting him go. Clearly he's just trying to sell his book, but he's having a tough time not being the center of attention anymore.
  15. Well I'm not only directing this to Mike Brown, I think everyone knew he was a push over from the start, but it's the franchise itself that's a joke for saying that no one was allowed to be confrontational with LeBron. It's a joke, they were completely afraid that he was going to leave town, which is beyond me, because quite frankly, they put themselves in that position by not surrounding him with better talent. I can't remember, but wasn't Shaq the one that blamed Jerry Buss for his weight gain? Didn't he say the organization asked him to do so? This really sticks out to me That is awesome.
  16. Deadspin has a few interesting excerpts from the book. http://deadspin.com/5854904/ This one about LeBron in Cleveland is definitely hilarious. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/216276/Shaq_Cavaliers_Allowed_LeBron_To_Do_Whatever_He_Wanted#ixzz1cZfsbf2j What a joke..
  17. Ovie's start to the season has been somewhat of a disappointment, looks like he lost some explosiveness. Backstrom was amazing today, his game has really picked up as of late. 8-2, heck of a start to the season.
  18. I don't think using the amnesty on Lewis is a slam dunk at all. Michael Lee makes a convincing argument about this. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wizards-insider/post/should-the-wizards-use-amnesty-clause-on-rashard-lewis/2011/10/31/gIQAjj51ZM_blog.html Is the cap space really that valuable? If the Wizards were contending, sure it would make sense, but they're not, and so at this point, cutting him won't make sense. He's a good locker room guy, and our projected payroll next season is going to be on the lower end regardless. We don't have any stars to replace him with right now. If our salary was above the soft cap level, then yes, we would amnesty him. Keep him now, who knows, there might be a team in need of trading their DPOY/MVP candidate for some good young talent, cap relief via expiring contracts, and high draft picks...
  19. Miller is a very odd man, he has the ability to drop 20 when he wants (maybe not now due to all the injuries he's faced), but he's just too passive. Even in Washington, he was one of our main weapons on offense, but failed to produce because he wanted to pass, and more often than not, it would lead to a missed opportunity.
  20. That would be amazing, and I'm sure they would look to trade Noah for a more offensive minded PF. Having Howard in the paint is probably the only way Korver gets to start, DH12 is used to playing with below average defenders.
