  1. What a great performance by the Caps, 5-0 to start the season, it hasn't been pretty but I'll take it. Probably the best game I've seen them play in a long time. No defensive lapses, and very few unforced errors, not it's time to show some consistency. Vokoun looks very comfortable out there, he's playing much better than the first couple of games. If he keeps up this level of play, I'll feel a little better about our chances.. although I don't want to get too ahead of myself. Our defense still needs work.
  2. I'm really not sure what these rankings are based off... Is it from last season alone? If that's the case, Rose should be in the top 5 right? But if it's from a more objective perspective, then I agree with Paul being in the top 5 ( I think you guys know my stance on CP3).

  4. Griffin is not a top ten player in this league, give me a break. I find it funny that they rank Durant at #6 and leave Melo out of the top 10 despite both being relatively average defenders. Melo is a top 3 scorer in this league alongside Durant and Dirk, and one of the top clutch players in the league.

  6. That was one amazing drive by Brady. Wow.
  7. Disgusted. Our offense is terrible. Our receivers are solid, we have great route runners and possession receivers, but no one that puts fear into an opposing defense. Not to mention our redzone play calling is atrocious, not sure what Kyle Shanahan is thinking... If there's any silver lining behind Grossman's benching, and our weakned offensive line, it's the fact that Beck is actually mobile and gets the ball out of his hands faster. This is one of the rare instances where 100% of the blame goes on one player, Rex [expletive]ing Grossman. If we don't put an emphasis on skill players in the draft, I will be pissed off. Draft a legitimate franchise QB, I'd trade EVERY pick we have for one. I'm tired of seeing below average QB's behind center, this better be the last year of this nonsense. Our defense was solid, it's tough when you're getting hammered with TOP 22-8 as was the case in the first half.
  8. Vokoun really impressed me tonight, aside from that late goal in the first period, he was very consistent in his play. Another one of those games I'll take, we finally didn't go into OT, but our defense needs to improve.
  9. Tannehill was amazing today, what a performance. He can make every throw on the field, and has great pocket awareness. RG3 was playing great up until that interception, very uncharacteristic of him to throw off his back foot in double coverage.
  10. Very nervous about this game, I really hope this game erases the memory of the Monday Night Football disaster last year. I don't care what Philly's record suggests, they have a lot of weapons on offense, our defense needs to be on point Sunday. As for the offense, let's pray Rex has a good day, we can't afford to let our D carry us, we'll end up losing if that's the case.
  11. 3-0, it just doesn't feel like it, but when you have 6 shots COMBINED in the first and third periods, I'll take the win. We beat our biggest rival on their place with our new goalie who stopped 39 of 41 shots.

  13. Trading Brandon Jennings would be a good start.. He's not a player you are going to win with, at best he'll get you a first round exit. Stockpile on draft picks, and find some luck in the lottery.
  14. Good news: I got a job Bad news: I work on weekends, which means I'll miss the Redskins game Thank God for DVR.

  16. Can't wait for his next album.
  17. So your telling me only 6 teams were well run in the past decade? Detroit is one of a handful of teams that won without a legitimate superstar, so they're irrelevant in this discussion. Fact of the matter is this league is driven off of superstars, and the nature of these stars is that they want big bucks and fame, which resides in large markets. Why did Shaq go to LA? Because they offered more money. But the amount of power these superstars have is also a huge problem in todays game. But with real revenue sharing, with a lower % for player salaries would ensure competitive balance amongst the league. Add that with a hard cap system, one team such as the Mavericks wouldn't be able to spend $90 mill while another team such as the Kings spend only $46 mill. Not to mention the owners already admitted to the fact that their non player expenses (such as paying coaches, fired coaches still on salary, front office salaries, advertising, etc) has risen at a greater rate than their player salaries. So it's not a huge stretch to assume that the league will be profitable under a BRI split. With the NBPA not agreeing to the split, they lose OVER 160 mill as opposed to losing 120 mill from the split. That is money that they cannot get back. Regardless, they're losing salaries.
  18. But at the same time, this system has also resulted in only 6 teams winning championships in the past 11 years. I don't really have a side on this issue, all I truly care about is a full year of basketball. Stern is essentially allowing for teams with large markets to dominate the league this past decade, superstars being literally above the law, and many teams losing cash. A 50/50 split of BRI would have been perfect for both sides because it would eliminate a good deal of the $300 million losses the league is claiming. I guarantee you if you poll every player in this league, the majority would accept a split in BRI right down the middle, because the overwhelming majority cannot afford to miss paychecks.
  19. The past two days they didn't talk about anything but the system. The owners essentially gave the NBPA the same system they have right now, except with a more favorable BRI. Since the players balked at the offer from hindsight, the owners will probably go back to demanding a hardcap among other things.
  20. It is for fans. And btw, there's no guarantee we even have a season yet..
  21. Every DC sports team finds a way to give their fans a heart attack... This game had no business going into OT, Vokoun has to do better. Still waiting for Ovechkin to explode and have a huge game.
  22. So now the Owners go back down to 47%, players better be prepared to miss paychecks. Here's more depressing news:
