  1. Amazing finish, this team last year would've easily choked this game away. Props to Rex, despite two interceptions in the first quarter (one should've been called pass interference), he came through in the fourth and delivered some great passes. This team is just so much more disciplined now, which says a lot about the new guys Shanahan has brought in. Kerrigan has to seriously be considered a candidate for rookie of the year, he has been unbelievable. The LB duo of Orakpo and Kerrigan will be dominant for the next few years.
  2. Yeah, boxing in general has been pretty poor the past few years. Either way though, it seemed clear to me that Floyd was going to win, Ortiz kept trying to go for the head, and missed a ton. He would've been tired by the 8th, and Floyd knew it. He knows a Pacman fight will happen soon, and if that's the case, he needs to have a win streak going into that match.
  3. I hate Floyd, but man, Ortiz is a complete fool. How many times was he going to apologize in the ring?
  4. Kevin Garnett:Game 7 of 2004 West Semis against Kings 46 mins, 32 points, 21 rebs, 4 stls, 5 blks I'll always remember KG for his days in Minnesota when he literally had to carry his team. This game in particular was amazing, his stat line was absurd, but best of all it happened in a pivotal game 7. This was KG at his best and it was his MVP season. Tim Duncan: Game 6 of 2003 Finals 21 points, 20 rebs, 10 assists, and wins the championship. Allen Iverson: Game 1 win over the Lakers in 2001 Finals 48 points, 6 asts, 5 stls. Despite being heavily outmatched, talent wise, and being on the road to the clear favorites (and eventual champs), Iverson came into Staples Center and managed to pull of a game 1 upset. This definitely defines his career.
  5. I've definitely been slacking, doesn't really have much to do with school because I usually have a few hours to just chill. I guess I kind of lost interest, but it'll pick up for sure.
  6. Yeah I was thinking about this one for a while, but decided to go with the Flu game for several reasons. For one, it was essentially the clincher for Chicago in that series. Let's not forget, the Bulls were down by 16 at one point in that game, and Jordan scored 15 points in the fourth quarter alone. He also played stellar defense, and had a clutch three pointer to seal the victory.
  7. Use one game to define/represent a player's entire career. It doesn't have to be their best game, but a game that represents that specific player the best. Example being Game 5 of the '97 Finals aka "The Flu Game" for Michael Jordan. For Kobe I would probably choose the 81 point game, the second highest scoring output for a player in a single game. But I'm sure someone can make a good argument for his 62 point outburst against Dallas in only 3 quarters. How about Shaq? Duncan? LeBron? Feel free to name any other players.
  8. 1. Bill Russell- Has to get the nod here, the ultimate winner, and IMO the second greatest player ever. 2. Larry Bird 3. Bob Cousy 4. Havlicek 5. McHale
  9. Unseld Hayes Gus Johnson Monroe Arenas Honorable mention: Phil Chenier The bottom three are very tough.. Basically the line of thinking for me is this, while Monroe and Chenier are clearly better all around players than Gil, would they have found the same success had it not been for Wes Unseld? Is their defense a little overrated because they had Wes in the paint to hide their deficiencies? It's also worth nothing that Chenier and Monroe played with better talent.
  10. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) - 8 X-Men (2000) - 9 X2 (2003) - 9 X-Men: First Class (2011) - 10 X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) - 6 First Class was definitely my favorite. Wolverine was a real disappointment to me.
  11. Had a good feeling about this game for a reason, I expected a win here. Rex played great, but our Oline was very inconsistent, especially in the run game. On 25 rushes, Hightower only had 70 yards, that's not impressive at all. As for the defense, they were amazing, against a fairly healthy Giants offense. Our linebackers are amazing, Kerrigan, Orakpo, and Fletcher are going to perform very well this season. Can't wait to get LaRon Landry back healthy, he will make our D even better.
  12. So excited for this game, cannot wait. Our secondary is weak (Otogwe is questionable for the game, Landry is already out), so I'm expecting Eli to pick apart our defense if we don't get a good pass rush going. I think we will end up on top simply because of all the injuries NYG is dealing with, but as always, I wouldn't be surprised if we lost.

  15. Love the move by both sides, Drummond picked a great program, but when is the last time Calhoun had a featured big man in his offense? As for their prospects in regards to their repeat, I'm not sure this puts them over UNC. He's very raw, and at times, shies away from contact, in the Big East, it will be a problem. But you gotta love the length the Huskies have now in the frontcourt, not sure any team in the nation matches up to that.
  16. Lol at this thread... Jay Z is the GOAT? GTFO, remember this thread? http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/topic/20195-top-3-5-10-rappers-of-all-time/page__st__80 Thanks for the laugh though. Jay isn't even better than Nas.
  17. MD is expected to get hit soon (within the next 2 hours).. I got a lot of trees near my house, hopefully nothing happens.
  18. Expecting a power outage over here, so I got my Ipod, laptop, and phone charged and ready to get me thru this storm.
  19. I know it's stupid to base anything off the preseason, but for once I'm going to be optimistic and say we finish right around .500. Last year I had us going 8-8, and we came close to it, my prediction is basically the same once again. A lot of people are calling us the worst team in the league, I just don't see it. We have the best safety tandem in our division (Otogwe and Landry, both complement each other well), the corners are very solid, our D-line is great, and our linebackers are solid (two pro bowlers in Rak and Fletcher, one rookie, and one question mark). As far as the offense goes, it has drastically improved. The offensive line is more athletic, healthy, and we finally have depth at those positions, all of which is essential for the ZBS. I like our receivers, Moss is a good #1, Gaffney is the perfect #2, and Armstrong is coming into his own as a deep threat target. Our tight ends should be good as usual, as will our running backs. We have 4 RB's who I think we can carry into the regular season, they all bring a unique element to the run game, it should be interesting to see how they perform. And of course, the QB's... Beck played well, but he was very complacent throwing the ball, he rarely tried throwing it deep, while Grossman is more of a risk taker (could be good or bad). Right now I'd lean towards Beck simply because I like his instincts, he plays smart and doesn't try to do a whole lot in our offense, which is acceptable given our run game. vs. Giants W - Only reason I'm saying this is because the G-men have a lot of injuries. vs. Cardinals L @ Cowboys L @ Rams W Week 5 - BYE @ Eagles L @ Panthers W @ Bills W vs. 49ers L @ Dolphins W vs. Cowboys W @ Seahawks L vs. Jets L vs. Patriots L @ Giants L vs. Vikings W @ Eagles W - Philly will probably rest starters, we should be able to win. A lot of winnable games for us this year.

  21. My point is, no matter how much money you spend, you won't build a winner till you have a plan in place for you to succeed. A true winner is built through good scouting, and putting the right pieces together. I've witnessed first hand what Snyder tried to do every offseason, and the end result wasn't pretty.
