Shaquille O'Neal to Retire
AboveLegit replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
At the time, it was his best option. -
http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22748484/29715779 Not sure Ellis is a good fit alongside Rose, if I was Chicago, I'd go for Mayo which wouldn't require giving up a major piece for him. As for the Grizzlies, they've proven they can succeed without one ball stopper, Rudy Gay, what are they going to do with another offensive minded player? They need to keep their core intact, don't make unnecessary adjustments to the roster.

Shaquille O'Neal to Retire
AboveLegit replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
Perfect time for him to retire, I don't think he could last another season in the league. He will definitely be missed on the court, while I wasn't able to watch Jordan in his prime, I was able to see the second most dominant player ever in his heyday. One of my favorite players ever, and easily a top 10 player in league history. Sucks that he couldn't win another ring to end his career, I know that's what he ultimately wanted to do. It would be awesome to see him, Kenny, Charles, and EJ all on Inside the NBA. -
I think Carlisle sat Kidd down on the bench for too long, especially in the fourth, I think Jason came in around the 7 minute mark. He's gotta play more in the fourth, Barea was struggling big time. Props to Spo, he completely took JJ out of that game, Miami's pick and roll defense was incredible tonight. Jason Terry made some terrible decisions out there, he jacked up too many three's when Dallas didn't need it. Overall though, it was more of Dallas not being able to hit their shots. Dirk missed a ton of his shots that he normally makes (i,e. the impossible one's). Maybe it was Miami's pressure, or maybe it was just that they cooled off. Spo made some key adjustments throughout the course of the game. He ended up putting LBJ on Terry which was brilliant, and they did a great job keeping Chandler off the offensive glass.

Biggest problem for the Mavs will be covering Dwyane Wade. Carlisle might end up keeping Stevenson in the lineup just to guard him, which will limit Terry's effectiveness, and might also go with Corey Brewer at times, which will definitely hurt their offense. If they end up putting Kidd on him, it won't work. Kidd cannot keep up with Wade despite how good of a defender he is. Jason isn't great at covering players with quick first steps, he's only equipped to guarding players that rely on shot fakes and high post moves. Another problem is Chris Bosh. Similar to what Chicago did, if you put Dirk on him (like the Bulls did with Boozer), he will expose you big time. He's too versatile and too much of an offensive threat for Dirk. If you put Chandler on him (like they did with Noah), you're eliminating your rebounding advantage because Chris will play more on the perimeter. I'm sure Carlisle will use his zone defense like he did in the regular season, but I'm not sure it will work out since they played Miami twice before Christmas. On offense though, LBJ and Wade won't be able to cheat off their man because Dallas has such great three point shooters. If Dirk is on his game, and Miami tries doubling him, they will get in trouble. I'm guessing Spo plans on throwing different players at him, Joel Anthony, Haslem, Bosh, and LBJ will probably spend some time covering him. Should be an exciting series, can't wait.

Did Anyone See The Hangover 2?
AboveLegit replied to MainEv3nt's topic in Movies and Television Forum
Just saw this, very disappointed in it. I think Todd Phillips tried too hard with this, and tried to emulate the first way too much. Instead of being original and creative, he simply took parts from the first one, and added a small twist to it...nothing special. Galfinakis' character is too played out and predictable, his stuff is really getting old. But oh well, sequels are rarely successful. -
Pippen: LeBron 'Probably Greatest Player To Ever Play Game'
AboveLegit replied to SRV's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
Even if you're analyzing both of their games, and taking titles out of the equation, I don't see how LBJ is better than MJ. When Jordan was 26, he was just as good of an all around player as Bron, but was a much more dominant and talented scorer. He had already established various aspects of his game, and was impossible to stop. We often see Bron using his size and strength to generate offense, which doesn't have much to do with skill. Jordan excelled due to his ridiculous athletic nature and arsenal on offense. And Cleveland's Finest, stop hating on Pip. The man has been at every Bulls game, is a huge supporter of the Bulls and shows more support to that franchise than Jordan himself. He constantly praises the Bulls on his twitter account, and is a huge fan of Derrick Rose. -
But even then you didn't exactly show a lot of faith in him. Throughout the whole season you were very impatient with his approach to the game.
-
It really is amazing how he completely ignored all that criticism regarding his missed shots in the final minutes in regular season games, and closed out multiple games this postseason.
-
And then a few months later you call him a dipshit. http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/topic/21866-spo-theres-a-couple-guys-crying-in-the-locker-room/ There's a reason why Riley has so much trust in him, he's a damn good coach that has a tremendous understanding of the game.
-
One of the more impressive moments in the playoffs. Starts off with LBJ hitting a three, then Wade's 4 point play, then LBJ with another three, and then he hits another 2. The Heat big three scored the last 33 points for the Heat. Crazy.
-
I think it's safe to say he's backed everything up. His play this postseason should be more than enough to convince everyone how great he is. He seems completely locked in right now, similar to Kobe the past 2 years.
-
I've said it before, Miami's halfcourt defense is amazing to watch.
-
Was just about to bring up that game. Definitely choked there.
-
What a meltdown by the Bulls. Rose just has not played well down the stretch. LBJ is so clutch.
-
Can Rose play any worse on D?
-
Wade could not have had a more frustrating half. 6 turnovers is ridiculous. Bulls have a good rebounding edge, love what Deng has been doing thus far. Rose is doing a good job finding people.

GM5: Oklahoma City at Dallas (DAL 3-1)
AboveLegit replied to Real Deal's topic in Dallas Mavericks Team Forum
Dirk was 59-61 shooting free throws in this series. Amazing. Another comeback in the fourth, that's huge for the Mavs. They gotta stay confident when/if they are down to the Heat late in the fourth, gain their composure, and feed Dirk the ball. Huge performance from Marion as well. -
91 degrees right now. Feels good, I remember bitching about cold weather all those months.
