Role players ftw. -
http://www.slamonline.com/online/the-magazine/features/2011/04/zero-sum-game/2/ Maybe it's my Gilbert Arenas homerism showing, but PART of what he's saying is right. He's not going to put up the numbers he used to in DC playing 15-20 minutes a game. He needs to get back in his rhythm, that's just his nature, you can't expect him to be a Jamal Crawford type presence off the bench, it's not his game. But of course, there's always the issue of proving yourself in this league, you just can't expect a playoff team to hand you the starting job. He needs to work with what he is given, and maybe he can win the job over Nelson. The problem is, Otis Smith loves Jameer, and he's the emotional leader of that team, so I highly doubt he's used as a trade piece or is moved to the sixth man spot. And I hope that 9 represents 9 turnovers...not rebounds. John Wall is a better rebounder than Gil ever was..

Something is telling me the Grizz are regretting the Rudy Gay signing... I know they don't want to think it was a mistake, but I'd take financial flexibility over maxing out a border line All Star. -
Dwight will be a Net on Draft Night
AboveLegit replied to Check my Stats's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
He's going to a much tougher conference where he's probably only going to lead them to a second round exit. If Bynum continues to develop and stay healthy, there's no way Houston can beat the Lakers. Dwight is apart of this new generation of players wanting to team up with multiple all stars, he understands that this is the only way to win in this league. Who is that other star in Houston? A one dimensional Kevin Martin? An aging Luis Scola? You can forget about Lowry because Orlando will definitely be targeting him. His desired team plays a role in this too, and I'm sure he'd prefer NJ/Brooklyn over Houston any day of the week. New Jersey offering Brook Lopez is a start, and they have until next year's trade deadline to get some valuable pieces to attract Orlando more. Right now, sure, Houston has the ability to trump any offer NJ makes, but it doesn't mean much at this point. -
This deserves a much needed bump. I just started getting into his stuff, he's so sick. Everyone needs to check him out.

In order to get Dwight, Orlando will want to package him with one of their bad contracts, such as Arenas or Hedo. That right there is close to 27 mill a year... Patrick Patterson is still on his rookie contract, as is Terrence Williams. You really Orlando will be interested in just those two, along with a few first round draft picks? You don't think Otis Smith will follow Ujiri's ways and negotiate the hell out of teams in order to get what he wants? Stop with the blind homerism and use your head, they're not going to be interested in anything less than a package involving multiple picks and a few good pieces to help build their team around. They're completely [expletive]ed right now, their situation has a chance of being much worse than Denver's before the Melo trade, and especially with the lockout looming, they have no idea how bad their financial situation could be. And that lineup you just posted is a 5th seed in the West right now. -

You guys are in a terrible situation right now. You just fired a hall of fame coach, and are probably going to get an average one at best in return. You have no superstar to pair up with Dwight, you will give up your best assets in the trade, and he'll be stuck in another bad situation. Just think of the Carmelo trade, except he's going to a Knicks team without Amare. -

LA or Chicago would counter Orlando's offer pretty easily. I remember reading a rumor saying Chicago could offer Joakim Noah, and a few other pieces for Dwight. And no, Houston will not land DH12. Not enough assets, small market, etc. -

If they had Arenas and Shard on the same team, they'd be paying the two around 120 million over 4 years... -

I don't understand why Trevor Ariza didn't slow it down after the jump ball....what a stupid play followed by an even more stupid play as he decided to try to tip in the lay up. -

Will there be any first round upsets?
AboveLegit replied to Buckets!'s topic in General NBA Discussion
I never said the series wouldn't have been different, they may have been able to pull off a win or two at home, but that's it. The Knicks were not going to beat Boston, absolutely no way. You were acting all confident before the series started saying the Knicks will beat them, and when they eventually got swept, you began to bring up injuries and gave no credit to the Celtics who pulled off the first sweep of the playoffs after ending the regular season so poorly. This team is simply built to win in the postseason, everyone in that starting line up has so much experience and have tremendous basketball IQ's, you know they will be ready to play in late April. -

What an odd game so far. Chris Paul and Kobe both have 0 points, but Artest and Ariza have 16 respectively... -

They will continue to be in a mess too. I HIGHLY doubt Dwight stays, the trade rumors will start to surface (if it hasn't already), and pretty soon the situation will end up like Melo's. After that, I'm sure Otis Smith will enjoy paying Redick, Arenas, and Turkoglu for the next 3 years. -
I'm brown, but the top looks flat out disgusting. Throw some chicken in there, with some chana and naan, and that's what I call a first class meal.

Melo had a terrible game 1 and game 3. Billups was playing like shit in the first game, and the Celtics defense held them to under 100 points every game. Officiating was pretty bad throughout the series, but it didn't always favor Boston. It as in favor of NYK during the 3rd quarter comeback today, yet they didn't get it done. Boston is just the superior team, when Pierce and Allen are shooting the way they have been, and when Rondo is staying aggressive, they are a legitimate contender in the East. You're foolish if you think New York would sweep them, much less beat them in a 7 game series. The Big Three won't lose in the first round of the playoffs, no way. Stop with these BS excuses such as player X was injured, the fact is, Boston is the superior team no matter what the scenario happens to be. And speaking of the Knicks winning 7 of their last 9 before the playoffs, let's take a look at who they faced. Orlando (won in OT) Nets (won by 4 without Deron) Cavs (won) Raptors (won) 76ers (won by 5) Nets (won) Pacers (won by 1) Bulls (lost by 13) Celtics (lost by 10) Their defense is atrocious. Through that 9 game stretch, only twice did their opponent not reach 100 points. -

Stan deserves to be fired, he's terrible late in games. Was he serious on that last play? Why does he constantly go to Hedo in the clutch? Much less an iso play... You gotta be kidding me. You have all these shooters, yet you refuse to use any off ball screens or curls to free them up? You have the most dominant big man in the game, yet you don't go to him? I feel bad for Dwight, he's been playing his ass off this series, but his so called supporting cast and coach have been terrible. -
