What a play by Pierce to get his feet set quickly to draw the charge. -

Shot just aren't falling for the Celtics now, Knicks are getting back in this. -
Well, most people around this area thought, of all the bottom seeded playoff teams, the Rangers matched up with us the best. They are a solid defensive team with a terrific goaltender. And they absolutely destroyed us twice in the regular season, which made us apprehensive about playing them in the first round. I think without Callahan, their offensive woes become apparent. But it did seem like they relied too heavily on Lundquist to bail them out. Staal had an average series at best, Girardi clearly out played him. As for Ovie, he's been around 50 assists the last couple of years...but a major improvement from last year is that the Caps leading offensive players are all sacrificing their scoring in order to be better team players. Ovie's turning into a much better all around player and captain.

GM4: Miami at Philadelphia (MIA 3-0)
AboveLegit replied to Real Deal's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
Evan Turner has a ton of potential, Philly fans should be excited for this kid. I think he will have a break out year in 2012 (assuming there is a season). Doug Collins said it earlier in the season that it will take some time before he fully adapts to the NBA game, and he did have some struggles earlier in his college career at OSU, so I fully expect him to breakout in the next season or two. The hype around him is gone now, and I think that takes the pressure off him. -

Boston is playing great defense, and Rondo is having a great game so far. Hopefully they keep it up. -
If he has truly matured, then he wouldn't be saying these bogus statements and beating around the bush. He claims the city wasn't built on LeBron James, but the team most certainly was. And we all know it was his team, he had such a great influence on everything that team does, from the front office, to the coaching staff, to how the players played the game. It was his city, similar to how Miami was Wade's city. I agree, he has been more focused this year, and really does seem better than ever, but he still hasn't matured to the point where I can fully respect him.

Lol yeah that was cool, I don't think I've ever seen the stadium this loud before. Incredible game by Neurvirth, he continues to impress. This team is much different from years past, we're much more disciplined on defense, and it seems like we're never out of games.

GM3: San Antonio at Memphis (TIED 1-1)
AboveLegit replied to Real Deal's topic in Memphis Grizzlies Team Forum
Gay is a great go-to guy down the stretch, but I personally don't like him in this offense. He's too much of a ball stopper, and the one thing that has helped them more than anything else is their free flowing offense. I can't imagine this team playing any better than they are now with Gay in the line up. -

Pretty shocking that the Spurs lost on a mental error... This game was huge for both teams, Memphis is playing some great basketball right now. -
Noah: Rose League’s Best Closer
AboveLegit replied to The Regime's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
I'd take Melo and Pierce over Wade in the clutch personally, but I'm sure you can make the argument for Wade. I'm not refuting anything you're saying, I'm simply focusing on your flawed logic. You just can't use the Finals against Rose, because it completely contradicts what you're trying to say. You seem to be underrating Rose's ability to finish out games, he always finds a way to pull through in the clutch despite not being a great pull up shooter. He can get to the rim and finish almost anything he wants, and he hardly ever turns it over. -
Where Does Kobe Rank in All-Time Greatest?
AboveLegit replied to LakerNation94's topic in Player Comparisons
Jordan Russell Johnson Abdul-Jabbar Chamberlain Duncan O'Neal Kobe Bird Olajuwon He needs another title or two in order to get in the top 4 if you ask me. If he gets his sixth in a dominating performance in the Finals, then I'm sure he's in the top 4, but I highly doubt that happens. The sixth title will undoubtedly put him above Shaq, Duncan, and Wilt without much room for argument. Once he does all of that, we can focus on sliding him up the rankings. -
LeBron will be a top 10 player ever, you gotta go with him. Not taking anything away from Dwight, he's a top 5 player in the league right now, and has the ability to change the landscape of a franchise, but he's not on LeBron's level.

GM4: Dallas at Portland (DAL 2-1)
AboveLegit replied to Real Deal's topic in Portland Trail Blazers Team Forum
Dallas has never been a mentally tough team, but I don't think Dallas blew this game as much as Brandon Roy took it away from them. This has to be one of the best playoff games I've ever seen. Hopefully Roy is back (knocks on wood). He still doesn't look too explosive going to the basket, on a lot of the plays I saw him driving into the lane and kicking it out when he could have gone up for the layup or draw contact. Regardless though, that was a terrific performance from him, I couldn't be happier for him. -
Noah: Rose League’s Best Closer

By your logic, LeBron isn't much of a closer then. How so? If you're going to make these statements, back them up. He did say Cleveland sucks, so he does have some credibility. -

What are you referring to as the biggest stage? The Finals? Because I remember LeBron playing in the Finals once, and it wasn't pretty. The playoffs is the biggest stage, and Rose has closed out every game this series.. I agree with you, I'd definitely take Wade, Kobe, and Bron over Rose any day of the week, but let's not act like Rose hasn't proven himself in the playoffs since his career started. He took the eventual champions in 2008, as a rookie, to 7 games, and played GREAT (remember that game winning block on Rondo?) He has proven each season that he can perform on the biggest stage. -
GM3: Orlando at Atlanta (TIED 1-1)
AboveLegit replied to Real Deal's topic in Atlanta Hawks Team Forum
Why does Hedo always shoot in the clutch? Nelson should be getting some touches, not a guy who is 3-11 from the field. If that's Ray Allen who is having the shooting night Hedo had, then I'd make an exception, but Hedo isn't the player he was 2 years ago. And Dwight needs to get more than 14 shots against the Hawks, come on... I saw way too many 1 on 1 opportunities where he was guarded by Zaza or Collins. -
GM3: Boston at New York (BOS 2-0)
AboveLegit replied to Real Deal's topic in New York Knicks Team Forum
Knicks seemed rather lethargic, and just flat out didn't play with a whole lot of effort. I've said it before, if Rondo keeps attacking the basket, the whole offense opens up, and with all the weapons he has around him, their offense becomes deadly. Can't wait for them to play the Heat, who are also looking great, that's going to be an epic series. -
He's an interesting prospect. A great defender, decent rebounder, but has a terrible offensive skillset. He doesn't have much of a postgame, and doesn't have a shot. The first time I saw him play, I was surprised at his ability to defend 3's and 4's, so he may be a solid addition to a team picking late in the lotto or late in the teens.

GM2: New Orleans at LA Lakers (NOH 1-0)
AboveLegit replied to Real Deal's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Hornets won't win another game this series, I just cannot see it happening. Too many things were working in their favor in game 1 and the Lakers have made the proper adjustments. -
That was an amazing game, those OT periods were just killing me.
