Jordan Crawford - Another Beast
AboveLegit replied to The Truth's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
Far from awesome, if anything we have a solid core with Wall, Crawford, Booker, possibly Young and McGee. I still do not support keeping Blatche past this year. Because Washington would not give up Kirk Hinrich without getting Jordan in return. Had he stayed another year at Xavier, he would be a lottery pick in this year's draft. I've watched every game Nick Young has played in since entering the league, and I can honestly say he would never be able to perform at the level Jordan played at last night. He showed maturity and the willingness to be unselfish for the betterment of the team. He played a completely different role from the previous games as a starter, and that speaks volumes towards his potential. Crawford shows some upside on the defensive end as well, and is overall the better guard. I fully support him being the starter along with Wall in 2012. But all of it depends on how much Nick asks for in the offseason, if we get him cheap, he's likely to remain the starter. Either way the way we were constructed, we would have been one of those marginal teams like Atlanta, good enough to perennially lose in the 2nd round. The rebuild of this team has been amazing, I truly believe the gun-gate saved this franchise, as it forced us to demolish the tragically flawed roster. Big props to Ted Leonsis, he sent the message to Ernie to rebuild properly, and Ernie has reacted by stockpiling on young talent. -
Congrats India, World Cup Champions!

Looks amazing, nice work.

Thank God Rondo is making his shots, Ray Allen hasn't shown up at all today. He needs to get out of this shooting slump.

Celtics need Shaq and JO fully healthy ASAP...their interior D is horrific right now.

Two teams I love to watch the most, no ball stoppers and all are unselfish players that have fully bought into their respective systems. Sucks that Garnett got two fouls called on him early on, Ginobili definitely flopped on that screen.

Oh God..please no. As for Rose, I don't particularly hate him, but the fact that he still thinks all black players from Duke are Uncle Toms just shows how stupid he still is.

I rarely see guards being referred to as tweeners, if a player is an undersized off guard, he's referred exclusively as a combo guard. Tyreke Evans, Monta Ellis, etc fall under this category. I like describing these players as the "lead guard" or the "off guard" because they aren't specific to one player in the backcourt, but rather defines the role that player has on any given possession. The mid-80s Celtics is a prime example of this, on any given possession, Dennis Johnson or Danny Ainge would be the lead or off guard.

Tough miss for Dwill had a great look at the basket.

Honestly, I know it's a bit early for this and I know it won't happen because Leonsis wants to keep our young guys, but with Nick Young's contract being up this summer, I wouldn't mind letting him go and giving Crawford the starting spot. Better defender, playmaker, just needs to work on taking better shots like what Nick did this past offseason.

Thanks for jinxing us RD... Never again are you allowed to post in a gameday thread involving the Wizards.

Yeah, Wall just got too aggressive there and lost his cool, I remember hearing that this was a huge problem with him during his childhood. Z did throw an elbow or two, and it clearly frustrated Wall, but he shouldn't be throwing punches...thats just unnecessary and immature. And I believe Wall asked the coaching staff early in the season to fine him $50 each time they see him show frustration during games and in timeouts...wonder if they will increase it now. Regardless, I'm loving the effort from our young guys tonight. Crawford is finally playing a well rounded, efficient game.

My friend got me hooked on Odd Future just a few days ago, like their music.

Nick Young is out still, and Trevor Booker is out for the season.. Dray is also coming back tonight. Hopefully Wall keeps looking for his shot and staying aggressive, even if it isn't going in.

Meh, I don't really consider Steph Curry a tweener. He's a very solid playmaker and doesn't take a ton of shots a game. I do agree with the rest of your post though.

NBA to investigate Jay-Z's celebration with Kentucky
AboveLegit replied to The Truth's topic in General NBA Discussion
Yup, damage is already done. Terrance Jones to NJ. -
A tweener is a player that is built for one position (usually a player who is built like the prototypical small forward) but has the skill set of another position (usually a prototypical power forward) but has trouble playing both positions. In the Raptors draft anticipation thread, BFT expressed his disinterest in tweeners, so it got me thinking, would you support your team drafting or trading for one? Do you think they bring more positives to a team than negatives?

Derrick Williams Entering NBA Draft
AboveLegit replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in NBA Draft History
Eh, I think he's quick enough to cover SF's in this league. People worry about Sullinger playing in the paint because he'd get blocked so much due to his size, the same goes for Williams. He stated himself that he prefers playing the 3. This is the guy I want the Wizards to draft more than anyone else. He gets to the line a lot, has the ability to create his own shot, and loves to get on the break..he'd be the perfect fit next to Wall. He isn't a great ball handler, but has a quick first step and most importantly, isn't a ball stopper. He keeps it moving, and rarely do you see him hesitate with the ball in his hands. Best part about him is that he mixes up. You never see him fall in love with the three, he can post defenders up, is an exceptional catch and shoot player, and is a smart player. -
RD just went ham.
