Ford: Irving to Return on Friday?
AboveLegit replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in General NCAA Discussion
Just saw this...I wonder how healthy he really is, because if he's close to 100%, I think Duke wins it all. When he was in their lineup, Duke was considered the best team in the country. -
Despite that three by Kurt Thomas, what a great ending to the half. Jordan is playing great for us.

Your Final Four/National Champion?

Just read on Twitter that Kyrie Irving may play for Duke in the tourney.... If so, I gotta make some changes to my bracket. -
Your Final Four/National Champion?

Ohio State Pitt Purdue San Diego State The only sure fire picks for me is Ohio State and Pitt, I think both have fairly easy teams to go through in order to make it to the Final Four. I like the duo of Moore and Johnson A LOT, so I see them winning their conference. I think SDSU also makes it, I like their combination of size and athleticism, I think they have enough perimeter defense to disrupt those Duke shooters (and because when in doubt, I choose against Duke). -
We just got blown out yesterday, it's a back to back game, we're going to lose by 25 points at least.
-
Joakim Noah. I'm basing it off of team needs more than anything else. Defensive centers are hard to come by, he'd be a great addition to the Wiz. But if Andrew Bynum were to remain healthy, I'd choose him in a heartbeat.

I got the Knicks beating the Thunder in my first try. I think it's broke.

Broussard: MJ's ex-teammates say Kobe is better than him
AboveLegit replied to The Regime's topic in General NBA Discussion
You can't just immediately throw out the credibility of MJ's teammates (the one's saying Kobe's the better player). But, I just read yesterday that Phil Jackson said MJ is far and away the better player. -

Oklahoma City at Washington

Ugh, Nick Young in a big time slump right now, hopefully it's just because of injury. -
Ah, that's my fault, I completely agree with you there.

I'm not trying to defend CWebb by any means, but you could see just by the documentary that he desperately wanted to win. I don't think he was trying to use anyone as a scapegoat, when they were showing the replays and the camera focused solely on the Michigan bench, you could see multiple players calling for a timeout. It's only natural, in the situation Chris was in, to call it. No way. Jalen Rose was great, as was Juwan Howard. As a matter of fact, in '91, Jalen led the team in scoring with 17.6ppg, followed by Chris then Juwan. They were not considered the fab five due to how great they were individually, it was simply because they were all highly recruited freshmen that made a huge impact as a whole on college basketball. I believe so. I can't imagine that they would stop their friendship over one scandal.
-
I just checked the boxscore of the game, and I'm kind of disappointed they didn't mention how badly everyone but Chris played in that game. http://www.betting-collegebasketball.com/final-four/1993.php I can definitely understand why Webber has shied away from this whole documentary, clearly he was disappointed with how things went down both years. It was just a real shitty situation for him because a few teammates had signaled for a timeout, and in the heat of the moment, you really don't think straight.

http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2009/04/03/sports/fabfive_span.jpg Who watched the documentary last night on ESPN? I thought it was amazing, and it really taught me a lot about how much they broke barriers in college basketball and how much controversy was surrounding them throughout their two years in the NCAA. It sucks that Chris Webber didn't take part in the documentary, the film in a way seems unfinished, but it did a great job breaking down each individual and showing their importance to the team. I got a ton of respect for Jalen, he was the emotional leader of that team, and he was completely honest throughout the film and even discussed his anger with Chris following that scandal involving Ed Martin. The only downside I have towards it is that they didn't break down their second national championship game enough, it really just focused on the Webber timeout. Yeah Chris made a huge error, but he was their best player those 2 years and played his heart out that entire game.

Yeah....17 out of his 25 years ain't a big deal..

Bout to fill mine out.

Not really, they are a good defensive team and have good rebounders as well, and Nolan Smith is an outstanding playmaker for them and has the ability to control the pace of the game. UNC has a trend of starting games off slow and it bites them in the ass far too often, that won't translate well in the tourney.
-
UNC just couldn't hit the big shot down the stretch.. Duke has too much firepower, and when Nolan Smith gets going, their offense is extremely tough to stop.
-
Nolan Smith is killing them with that dribble penetration.
-
This will be a great game, last time they met up, Barnes played great D on Singler. Let's see if he can take Kyle out of the game early.
-
I see where you're going with that comparison, but he has way too much skill on offense to be compared to Marvin.
-
Harrison Barnes will be the better player in the NBA. I've mentioned this before, but him struggling early on is perfectly normal, not many freshmen can put together a great season with the amount of pressure Barnes had. Roy William's surprisingly doesn't run that many players for Barnes, yet he still is playing great as of late. Kemba on the other hand is the focal point of that Uconn offense. Walker is hard to guard in the half court and full court, and he's a pretty underrated passer. He does a great job breaking down a defense and getting his teammates high percentage shots. And as we all know, he makes plays down the stretch. In college, I like Kemba leading my team because he just seems more willing to take over games and is more assertive (but that's probably because he has less to work with).
