  1. Looks like Nash is definitely gone in the offseason, absolutely no way he stays with them next year. And I can just see it now, Aaron Brooks averages 23 3PT attempts per 36... Good trade for the Rockets though, nice to see them finally rebuild.
  2. I was freaking out about this earlier, but the Celtics did go 33-10 without him, so obviously they feel like with his contract issues and his knee problems, it's better that they get some value for him while the demand for a player of his caliber is still high. I'm actually more shocked that they traded Semih Erdan to the Cavs, I thought he was a serviceable backup that could get some minutes come playoff time, because Jermaine is useless. Broussard was just talking about how Shaq still looked unhealthy and was limping around during all star break, so it's obvious that the Celtics will explore opportunities to get a guy like Troy Murphy or even Sheed to strengthen that frontcourt. And I fully understand that the Celtics were concerned that with Marquis possibly being out for the rest of the season that they needed to make a trade for a SF. But I'd much rather see them go after a specialist type player to back him up, ala Shane Battier or Josh Howard. Jeff Green is a terrible rebounder, has a pretty low IQ, and his shot selection is poor. I don't know if going after him was the best idea. But it's obvious to me that Danny Ainge knows something we don't.
  3. Yes because Hubie Brown watches every Wizards game..
  4. Awesome win for us tonight, really needed it against FSU. Jordan didn't have a particularly good game, but our guards played great, been impressed lately with the play of Stoglin, the kid can play. Let's keep on rollin and get that spot in the tourney. Sucks to see Chris Wright go down with a broken hand, terrible timing. 3 weeks before the tourney too. Georgetown is in big trouble now, someone needs to step up.
  5. Well I honestly don't believe the Wizards would accept it without the pick being included, it's what we're looking for most out of this deadline. You all had to overpay to get Hinrich because he is a significant upgrade over Bibby on both ends of the court. If they can move Jamal for some depth up front, it would improve the situation there a ton.
  6. Well when the coach is giving a lame ass excuse for another pathetic performance by saying it's because of the trades that we didn't come out to play, then yes, you gotta believe some of it lies on the coaching.
  7. You're acting as if he's a 15 year vet looking to win championships... he's 26 years old with a lot of basketball left to play in his career. And look, I'm not saying he will sign the extension because frankly, the Nets are a long ways from being a legit contender in the East, but you gotta believe they made this trade with a plan to negotiate an extension. They wouldn't have made this trade without being 100% certain they can extent his contract. Like I said, you're right and you're saying all the right things here, this is a risky move, the Nets really will have trouble surrounding D-Will with great talent. Hell, it doesn't even guarantee them a playoff spot next year because really, what are they going to turn to in free agency? David West? They can't add an immediate impact player through the draft either. We'll see what moves they make in the next year.

  9. Just a terrible performance, we just don't have a vocal leader in this locker room. We gotta start holding everyone accountable, something is wrong with the culture of this team. It still amazes me that we're able to do positive things in the first quarter, and completely ignore it for the remaining three quarters..
  10. It's not an opinion dude, it's a fact, Hilton Armstrong is terrible. He doesn't rotate well on defense, he isn't a good rebounder, and he hardly knows what to do on offense.
  11. I remember Mustafa Shakur playing well against Boston and New York, but now he's off his 10 day contract and in the D-League... One game proves absolutely nothing.
  12. This isn't a sim league, Prokhorov knows what he's doing, he's been patient with the Melo drama, he was patient with the 2010 FA, so what gives you the idea that he desperately made this move just to obtain a superstar? You're making no sense here.
  13. Yeah it was. Love the deal for us though, we save some money (not a whole lot, but I'll take it), we bring in a young guy (I really wanted Jordan in the draft), and a first rounder. I would have much rather preferred a 2012 first, but it's whatever, I'll take it.
  14. And they also put the Heat big 3 in our division. -_- This coming from a man who has witnessed 4 titles in the last decade..
  15. You don't think the Nets realized all this before pulling the trigger? It's obvious they know something we don't, so don't assume Deron will leave. Everything you're stating is true, but it's obvious as well.
  16. Not finalized yet, too many different ideas being thrown around. Hopefully we get a draft pick out of this deal.
  17. He can't sign an extension till July... It's a genius move simply because of the idea of bringing in a top 3 PG.. We all know it could all end up a huge failure if he doesn't sign an extension, but from what I've been reading, it looks like the Nets are confident that he will.
  18. Hopefully Dwight goes out West when his contract expires. The NBA just doesn't care about the Wizards... -_-

  20. Very happy for Nets fans, they waited and waited to get Melo and it never happened, got screwed over because of the draft lottery, and didn't get anyone through free agency. It's great to see them finally getting that franchise player they always wanted. I'm a huge fan of D-Will and believe they can successfully build a contender around him. But the problem here is that this trade doesn't come with the guarantee of him signing an extension. I haven't seen anything regarding Williams being unhappy with going to New Jersey, so the deal is still up in the air. But if he does go for the extension, this is a great deal. It looks like Utah will begin their rebuilding process. They have some nice pieces to work with. http://jocksandstilettojill.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/mikhail-prokhorov.jpg What a boss.
