  1. Can't wait until Davis overtakes the starting job by February.
  2. Beasley would have averaged 10 and 5 on Miami this year. He needed to go to a team where he could play through his mistakes and not worry about getting yanked after a couple missed defensive assignments or a couple bad shots.
  3. I have always been a huge fan of Bayless. He will get his chance in Toronto now with how thin we are at PG after this deal. It really sucks we couldn't unload Jose instead though. Jose has been better than Jack this year, but that contract is a killer. I like this deal, hopefully we buy Peja out though or that is just another guy eating into the minutes on the wing.
  4. if you guys [expletive]ing let Raptors win I am not going to be happy at all.
  5. Sonny's stroke from 3 looks even better than solid at this point. Normally I don't like posting that early in this type of thread, but I want to before I forget. I can't get enough of this kid right now. It'd be nice though, if him and Derozan could find a way to both be effective. It really seems like a one or the other sort of thing. Also, Bargnani is looking relatively impressive on the glass early :o
  6. I'm not asking for thoughts on his production, I am asking for thoughts (from Philly fans mainly) on how he has looked. I watched him vs Toronto and I really wasn't really all that impressed. I am not sure what made him so successful in college (didn't watch) but it doesn't seem to be translating in the pros; mind you, it has only been 10 games, so by no means is this meant to be a troll thread or a thread to trash ET. I just wanna know what Sixers fans think of this kid. What does he do well, what can he do better, etc.
  7. As much as I love what Reggie's done, it is Sonny so far. He has easily been our best player so far this year, and with starter minutes, he hasn't backed down. We know Reggie is a horse on the glass, maybe not this much, but I for one would not have expected Weems to be our best player 10 games into the season. Linas has sucked. I had high hopes for him, but he obviously isn't quick enough or have a good enough handle to be consistent against other starters in this league. I like him as a player, but it is pretty obvious he is just a role player. Sonny definitely needs the minutes more, and obviously Demar too. I had no expectations of Barbosa, but he needs to gtfo.
  8. It is still LeBron James despite what everyone thinks.
  9. Both have been way better than I thought, but for me, so far, it easily has to be John Wall. A rookie at the PG is arguably the hardest spot to come in and be effective right away. If the all-star game was today, he'd have a legit shot. We still obviously have to wait a while to figure out when/if he is going to hit that rookie wall. But the fact he is dropping 18-10 on a respectable FG% for a rookie is amazing. He has only played 8 games though, so I am trying not to get too hype for the kid yet. It is obvious he will be a superstar soon though.
  10. Not sure where the quote went, but I saw it on RealGM. Peddie recognized the more they lose the better the pick they get. He obviously wasn't publicly condoning tanking but at the same time he seemed to have reasonable expectations for the team. My concern doesn't necessarily lie in this season, but the following seasons. I personally really don't think Colangelo's job is in danger. He is still one of the most respected GM's in the NBA, he has actually done a solid job here overall compared to past GM's (a lot of that has to do with the [expletive]ty history obviously). I will be the first to point out his faults (his generosity for one) but at the same time, I'm not sure there is another GM out there I'd be more comfortable with. Despite all the time I feel like killing the guy, there are a lot of times I want to give him my babies (the Hedo trade). This is a pretty good blurb regarding MLSE: It really is so true. You have to believe that MLSE encouraged the Hedo signing. The Kessel trade. The JO trade. They encourage the short term band aid solutions that will = excitement and attendance and a potential playoff berth or at least the push for playoffs, even though that round might only last 5 games. I have to wonder if they encouraged the team being revamped every off-season to bring 'excitement' to surround the Raptors. An 'ideal' season for MLSE is probably the Raptors when they won 47 and 41 games and got bounced in the first round. It is time a team here was built properly here. MLSE needs to understand a winning culture would provide more money and more ticket/merchandise sales (higher prices even). If the Raptors were a 50+ win team yearly they would be selling out easily. The only way that can happen, is if the team is built patiently for the long term; how many teams are built into contenders without a top 10 player? How do you get a top 10 player? By picking damn near close to 1st in a couple of drafts. Hopefully the Hedo signings are behind us, and we can patiently build more than just a playoff team over the course of 2-3 years, rather than a borderline playoff team during the off-season of 2-3 months. But hey, this is MLSE we are talking about, I'm not holding my breath. You lose big before you win big. If you lose small, you will win small, and soon you will be looking like the Detroit Pistons. /rant.
  11. That is why this feud is so sweet because no one knows what the hell is gonna happen. Sucks that I have hardly been watching lately because of my class Monday night, but I might still catch a stream on Sunday night to catch the main event. Like I said before though, this needs to be dragged out a bit longer, because the only place that Cena-Barrett feud can be paid off appropriately, is at the main event of Wrestlemania. I know they want Orton-Cena, but this is bigger/better than that. Having Cena 'fired' then coming back for the rumble might work.
  12. Thank God this is on TSN, three games in a row on TV for me, that has to be a record so far lol. This is an important game for us, we need to lose this game. Barbosa and Linas both being back now, I like our chances (of losing). Sonny should still be starting, he has been killing it since getting those minutes and deserves a chance to keep it up. Triano wants to win, and Weems, right now, gives us the best chance to do that (unfortunately). He is putting up 18 PPG in games when he gets over 30 MPG.
  13. This was just around the time I was starting to get into basketball heavily. Isn't this when Ron tried to start his whole rap thing? I remember an interview with him being like [expletive] it this gives me time to work on my records, or something like that.
  14. Actually it kind of is if someone is deleting them. That is why I am asking. I know for sure a post of mine got deleted in the Raps draft thread as well as the gameday thread for today. It isn't a big problem, I am just bringing it to RD's attention.
  15. Going to be difficult to decide between the Raps game and all these games, it is tempting to just stay home and watch ball . I know for sure I want to catch at least a good portion of the Duke game to see Irving play. Luckily the Raps game is on TSN tonight so I can have that going as well as college games Also I posted earlier (got deleted), not sure if anyone caught the Baylor game or not, but it looked like Perry Jones played really solid. I think he got like 18 points on 9/13 shooting and 8 boards/3 steals or something like that. Was just wondering if anyone got a chance to see him play and if they did, how did he look out there?
  16. There are at least 2 posts of mine that have gotten deleted. Is this just another server thing?
  17. This is probably what MLSE is hoping for too lol. Whether we win 39 games, or 19, MLSE has to realize the seats will still be empty. This team needs a highly touted prospect to get people excited about this team again. I don't think we will win 30 games, but I am concerned we could come close.
  18. It'd be cool if you could see all the members who have a certain rep. The numbers for Raps fans seem like they are getting pretty big here. I remember when it was just like 4 of us.
  19. I would give him a 1 year contract. Like I said in another thread, he owes it to the Blazers to sign there for a reasonably signed 1 year deal first imo.
  20. He isn't particularly big, not a very good rebounder, average defender, not a very good shot blocker either. He is explosive, but he doesn't bring much to the table other than that. He still seems pretty raw, kind of reminds me of Derozan at this point for the Raptors. I definitely do not consider him a franchise player. But is he a piece to the puzzle? Sure.
