  1. They are definitely coasting, but that doesn't mean these numbers aren't concerning. The perimeter defense seems brutal at times when I watch, guys get into the paint at will, and that not only is a concern since Bosh isn't really a rim protector, but it is causing the defense to collapse, and right now their opponents are hitting those open 3's. I am honestly surprised that Miami's opponent 3P% was so bad last year. I still don't like this whole small ball philosophy; at least for anything beyond extended stretches. You can get away with it when Tyson Chandler is your 5, but Chris Bosh? I don't know... Yes, I get it, LeBron's numbers are good as a 4 (calling him a 4 is a huge insult to Battier by the way, who is usually the one with the responsibility of actually defending opposing teams 4's), and the Heat won the title last year, but I just don't like it long-term moving forward. I don't have substantial reason really, I just don't like it. We've already seen what a big team like Memphis, whose bigs can make that pass out of the paint, can do to Miami when their guards are hitting those open 3's. I don't care if LeBron is getting you 10 boards a game, the Heat are bottom 5 on the offensive glass because their center stands 15 feet from the hoop and their supposed power forward isn't actually a power forward, and their defensive rebound rate is right in the middle of the pack. Blaming Allen is also bullshit. Is he a great defender? Not even close, but Wade is literally a huge minus at times on defense, especially in transition. Its frustrating for me to watch, I can only imagine how Miami fans feel (probably don't even notice). Couple that with his brutal shot selection and ball stopping at times, he can be a minus on the court when his shot isn't falling, which is ridiculous for a player like Wade. I think we can expect Wade to turn it up 10 notches defensively in the playoffs, but that's bullshit to me. You don't have to play your nuts off, but give the effort. Overall I think the main problem is that only 1 guy cares right now (or is playing like it), and its the best player in the league.
  2. CP3 is such a [expletive]ing stud. Crawford has to rank up there in the all-time 'funnest to watch' players list. Its like the ball is glued to his hands. Half the shots he takes you're just like ..... wtf, then it drops. I'm not 100% sold on these Clippers yet, but they are very, very scary, that is for sure. Watching Wade play at this point is bordering on sad when you consider 3 years ago he was right in that discussion for saying a player is the best player in the league with a straight face.
  3. Also I doubt Arison is interested in losing money on two teams. He is already taking a hit with the Heat, which is pathetic to be honest, but besides the point.
  4. Its easy to say Anthopolous is the best GM in Toronto, but lets not act like GMing in a cap-less sport isn't a gigantic advantage over the other 2 sports in Toronto. Glad he finally made the move he has strung Jays fans along for what seems like 2 off-seasons now, and got out the check book. Not a Jays fan, casual at best, so not sitting here acting like I've been die-hard all these years, but I am glad for the true Jays fans, because a ton of my buddies are fans, and I hope the Jays can make a run at the playoffs because they support this damn team as bad as i do the Raptors. This city needs it in the worst possible way, even if it has to come in my least favourite sport, and this move has everyone buzzing. Funny night though. Was sitting with my 2 roommates, and we were on twitter for like 3 hours straight sorting through this shit. We were there from it being a rumour, to unconfirmed, to finally confirmed. It was hilarious because my buddy refused to believe Reyes was in the deal until Rosenthal confirmed it. Hopefully it works out. Sounds like AA isn't done yet either, need a left fielder and apparently he is probably going to tinker with the pen a bit still.
  5. Last night was a real gut check win. I honestly can't believe how bad the refs have been. I try to be the last guy to complain about the refs, but this is actually incredible. Last night was the first time I've really ever thought the refs were going to be solely responsible for the loss (had we lost). It really is incredible how much the Indiana bigs get away with, and then Hibbert has the nerve to go talk to the ref after a foul call. I haven't been so pissed off watching a sport in a while. We also suck balls in the clutch. Need Lowry very badly.
  6. What are the Bobcats doing... Warrick has 2 years at 4M left. I always liked him tho, not worth more than the minimum obviously, but hes a big who is mobile and is somewhat athletic.
  7. I literally hate watching Dwyane Wade play now.
  8. Allen's gotta drop that one off to LeBron. Awesome play by Bayless though, kid is so underrated.
  9. The way he was starting to play, he was well on his way to being a negative on the court. Seemed like he was slowly losing grasp of his role on this team. The play he got injured on never should have happened in the first place. Kind of fitting really. Mikael Pietrus would be a good pickup for us. Not even kidding, its that bad.
  10. Is he still the MVP? Assuming the Heat win in the high 50's at least. Are these MVP numbers? http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/1966/lebron-james 22 a night, 10 boards, 6 dimes, 56% from the field and only 2 topg. Also only 33 MPG, his lowest ever by far.
  11. Hopefully this makes the rest of the league realize he is not head coaching material.
  12. I feel like they were better today, at least in terms of us getting calls on the offensive end. There weren't many times I was like 'what the [expletive]...' with our players getting hacked. People might want Bargs to get calls, but he is driving to the rim out of control, you aren't going to get calls playing like that. I think its clear this team is totally different without Lowry. Calderon is the only point guard I know who will get into the paint, then retreat to the 3 point line (almost at his own will) all within a 2.5 second time frame. Its just brutal to watch. Hopefully Lowry isn't out any extended period of time. On the bright side, Demar put in another really solid performance, maybe the best all around game he has ever put together (can't think of better, could be wrong though). It was nice to see him being assertive, there was a play where he posted, kicked it out, and Bargs (shockingly) threw it back in for a repost. If he continues to commit to being a high post threat against smaller wings, he is going to be a solid player for us. Worth 10 a year? Probably not, but at least its a step closer. But yeah, please come back Lowry. Please.
  13. I would ask you to explain, but then I realized it would be pointless.
  14. Mike Brown would be the perfect assistant. He was a brutal hire even before this team was stacked. Mike Brown is not going to coach a team to an NBA championship. Its just that simple. Its not 'weak' to blame him. Just watch the offense run of all the teams he has ever coached. Its pathetic to watch really.
  15. Chris paul is better than rajon rondo in every single facet of the game besides being a step slower, which he more than makes up for with his high IQ, incredible handle, and unreal timing defensively.
  16. Yes, this needed its own thread. EDIT: why won't it embed? used the media tag, mod edit please. this must be seen by everyone.
  17. Very hard game to watch, not unexpected, but still just hard to watch. Hopefully nothing serious with Lowry. Not saying it affected the game, but I honestly feel the refs have been brutal almost every game we've played. Again, not saying it impacted the game, but Demar has been getting hammered this year and still not getting any calls. its infuriating. Also, Bargnani is brutal, just brutal. Its almost like he is scared he isn't going to get the ball back if he passes it away. Its [expletive]ing ridiculous. EDIT: Fields is literally just hilarious to watch. I feel bad for him, don't get me wrong, but its hilarious.
  18. Honestly this [expletive]ing franchise can't catch a break.
  19. I honestly find it hard to believe any team is better while getting rid of a legit first option offensively, especially as a big man. I don't get why Melo can't play like he is right now, at the 3. Its not like Amare and Chandler clog up the post on offense (Chandler is a non-threat and Amare plays face up mostly it seems), why does he need to settle on offense just because he is at the 3? Especially come playoff time, where you can't get by if you don't have a legit 2nd option on offense, which the Knicks do not right now without Stoudemire. I have been one to hate on Amare over the years, but I still can't help but feel if this team somehow meshed, they could be a huge threat. On paper, this is a sick team (after adding Chandler). I think the addition of Kidd has been huge for this team offensively. I pretty much agree with Nitro. Lets see him on the floor with Kidd and Felton. Simmons said it vs. the Heat, people sometimes underestimate the value of having a competent PG at times, not good, just competent. With that said, Amare needs to be more committed defensively and on the glass obviously, and play at a higher level. When I watch the Knicks (admittedly not too often) I see Chandler shaking his head or just looking right at Amare after scores right where he was supposed to be.
