  1. If he quit that would have been amazing for the Cavs tbh, Gilbert must be pissed that Mo would even say that, it is almost a tease... getting rid of his contract would have been awesome
  2. I don't know why they are so hesitant, that team is winning 50 games and Gallo/Chandler are 2nd rate prospects as far as I am concerned.
  3. Lol quality post as usual. If the Nets HAVE offered that, and Nuggets declined, I really don't know what to say, the Nuggets must be run by chimps. Just because the Nets 'have' those assets, does not mean they have been offered up.
  4. 1. you just contradicted yourself rather nicely there, the contracts in the NBA are dependent on the current NBA salary cap. 2. "The most notable Carmelo Anthony endorsement to date is the deal to promote the Nike Air Jordan Carmelo, part of an endorsement deal with the sneaker giant that reportedly totaled $75 million." Hmmmm.... just by googling Carmelo Anthony endorsements I found this lol. The mid level doesn't just randomly go down lol.....it is based on the average NBA salary. You act as though the lockout talk is so hugely relevant, if there was a likelihood of a lockout it would be more talked about by now. While the possibility of a lockout is obviously there, I don't think it is nearly as likely as you are making it seem. It is an educated guess, however the NBA won't just cut the cap down (the only way that starting salaries are affected) hugely, and then not adjust current contracts as well. The same thing happened in the NHL, and if the NBA goes to a hard cap, you can be assured current salaries will be rolled back in order to help teams comply with the new cap. For example LA's cap is almost 100M, the NBA won't institute a hard cap and then not roll back their salaries lol.... in all likelihood the NBA's CBA will be slightly adjusted (1 year knocked off contracts like RD said), or something like that.... Melo isn't going to be missing on as much money as you think, if he was then his agent would have made a play by now to ensure he would be inked to a long term deal, they wouldn't be [expletive]ing around. Like just about everything I say on this forum, it is a matter of opinion. Unless I am posting stats it probably is opinion, it isn't my fault you take my posts to be a matter of fact lol. I don't think my opinion is better than any 'expert', I am just posting my thoughts on the issue. It just so happens my thoughts are polar opposite to yours, the only difference is that I think yours are based on hope of getting value in a deal, rather than reality. I'm not making rules or fantasies I am posting possibilities and what I feel is most likely, Real Deal posted facts (which is nice, take notes son) so there was nothing to respond to. NBA salaries are dependent on the current NBA salary cap, so they won't go down unless the cap does, and there has been no indication from the league (people that actually matter, not 'experts' who are making educated guesses) that the CBA is going to get overhauled.
  5. I clearly acknowledged my mistake in my 2nd post, this is definitely a thread that should be in general discussion, I just saw it on that little sidebar. Funnily enough you contributed just as much as me to this thread though, congrats.
  6. Nothing on LA would appeal to Denver according to what they want, Bynum is useless to them if they deal Melo, Bynum and Billups is going nowhere fast, they would be better off dealing him to NY/NJ/HOU,.
  7. LOL, he can't ride LBJ's coattails any longer and is scared of fading back into obscurity (where he belongs). This is actually funny.
  8. A quick point who can stick a jumper and get into the paint, and a big you can consistently run the pick and roll with. Knock down shooters off the bench. A banging C or PF to compliment the other big who can score. In all honestly the Bulls have the closest thing to an ideal lineup (in my opinion of course) in terms of fit only, not talent itself.
  9. Meh whoever injured him at the gym deserves to have his knees broken.
  10. Favors for Melo should get it done, it all really depends how confident they are they can beat out New York in the off-season for him, if they are unsure they should just get it done now if he will sign an extension. Nuggets would be so lucky to get a deal like that. They should just tell New York, Gallo+Chandler+First and Curry right now, they won't get better than that... and if New York won't offer that, then I don't know what to say.
  11. I definitely think you could make an argument that KG was as or more talented than Duncan in his prime, it is debatable who was more effective for sure, though it is hard to argue against Duncan's rings. But at the same time KG was trapped in Minny for his entire career. How many times did you see Tim Duncan carry the ball up the floor? KG was pretty amazing to watch in the early part of this decade.
  12. Get your facts straight before you insult me you moron. If the owners/teams are losing so much money why did the cap go up 0.3M this off-season from last year? If the cap is shrunken it will be minimal at best, you are misguided if you think the NBA is in some sort of financial peril, only small market teams are. And even if the cap is shrunken hugely, it is very likely current contracts will be rolled back and optimal buyout rates will be given, that is if a hard cap is instituted at least. I know Melo wants his money, it is why he signed the 4 year extension instead of 3 years like the big 3 (I think everyone and their mom's knew he'd be kicking himself at the time once the big 3 expired and he was stuck in Denver). The fact is that Melo will get his money next off-season whether it is in Denver, New York or New Jersey, you are overestimating the negative potential of a new CBA. If Melo doesn't get as much a full max as it stands now, the difference of a new contract would be marginal (minus the extra year he would get in Denver). The fact of the matter is this, with a new CBA, the big market teams will still have the resources to offer big money, and the small market teams still won't, and unless the salary cap is shrunk to 40 million (it won't be), everything you think you know is thrown out the window. I am almost willing to guarantee that Melo can get a starting salary in the new CBA of 15M just like LBJ and company got. If Melo cared as much about money as you thought, he would have demanded a trade by now so he could get an extension hammered out somewhere else. You keep on making a fool of yourself in every topic I see you in, you are the one who doesn't know what you are talking about, seriously.
  13. Too bad Shaq is too garbage to make a difference vs LA lol. If Boston does manage to make the finals somehow, it will be fun to watch Kobe win his 6th ring vs Shaq. I still think the ultimate shot would be Kobe basically telling LA to sign Shaq so he can mooch a ring off Kobe.
  14. It sucks that this happened at a pickup game too, hopefully he can get healthy soon I want to see this kid get minutes.
  15. It depends really... I think having Chalmers on the floor makes it easier, you have to imagine he will shoot better than last year from 3 with all the wide open looks he will get this year, and he is pretty good defensively. Starting Miller is good in theory but I heard Wade doesn't want to play the 1 (you have to imagine the reason is defensively not offensively). Chalmers and Miller will have identical roles, shoot the 3 and play defense, the only difference is having Chalmers on the floor makes it easier for defensively matchups. Not to mention I doubt Spo wants to have 3 new faces in the starting 5, better to have 3 guys who are familiar with his system at the start of the year starting the games, Miller should probably be in the game at the end, and maybe he will even start 10 games into the year. But I think to start the year you keep it simple, start Chalmers and if he sucks again then you switch it. I would even consider starting House instead of Miller, I just don't want Wade/LBJ defending 1's for the majority of the game, especially at the start of the season. There are a ton of options for this team, it will be interesting to see how it works. I still imagine the starting 5 opening night will be Anthony-Bosh-LBJ-Wade-Chalmers, but that could change as quick as 5 games into the year.
  16. Kobe was, and always will be, superior to T-Mac in just about every way. It goes beyond just stats, T-Mac has always been relatively inefficient and inconsistent. Plus T-Mac is fragile, even in his prime he was always missing games here and there, meanwhile Kobe is a warrior. We are talking about who we are building a team around, and it is Kobe without a doubt in my mind. Plus do I even need to bring up his playoff virginity
  17. Cool, the more people starting good topics the better.
  18. Easily Kobe and KG. Change Kobe to VC and this would actually be a good debate, Kobe just smashes T-Mac.
  19. Lol you're a fool if you think the CBA is playing that much of a role, if the NBA goes to a hard cap or cuts the cap drastically, all current contracts will be rolled back as well. Even though I don't think the cap will even go down, Melo will get his money wherever he wants it.
  20. I think the difference is now they don't just have a handful of talent thrown together, this year everything fits properly, almost even perfectly. If Rose actually has improved his jumper out to the 3 point line then he could become a superstar this year, his jumper will be key running the p n r with Boozer.
  21. I would be pretty surprised if Bryan won the first match, I expect Miz to win unclean, then Bryan win at the next PPV. If Bryan wins then I figure Miz will cash his thing in tonight. I think the Miz-Bryan match will steal the show, I am a huge Miz mark and Bryan is one of the best workers around, plus their feud is the hottest going right now imo.
