Prime: Shaq and Kobe VS The Miami 3
Check my Stats replied to Hawks Fly High's topic in Player Comparisons
If you mean Kobe and Shaq, both in their individual primes, I would take them because they would be the 2 best players in the league probably. Shaq would molest Bosh worse than Wade and LBJ would outmatch LBJ 2-1. I take them slightly, not to the same extent that Kingfish does -
obviously that 'theory' (it isn't even a theory just common sense really) would only apply to points, or wings really. At the end of the game the point is the person who's hands you want the ball in, but Rondo is a putrid shooter and shoots a pathetic 62% from the free throw line, as far as I am concerned that is absolutely unacceptable, he has actually managed to get worse from the line since his rookie year. the importance of a wing being able to shoot (not just free throws) is so much more than a big man, it isn't even comparable which is why I was unsure why you even brought it up. I'm not asking Rondo to be steve nash but the fact his jumper isn't getting better is pretty bad.

move this to general NBA discussion imo

"I'm a Nuggets right now" At least he finally addressed it halfway professionally. It seems clear as day this dude is done in Denver.

not even going to respond to that.

Heat undecided on starting point guard
Check my Stats replied to magicbalala245's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
I figure it'll be Chalmers, all he needs to do is play his good defense and hit a good number of all the open 3's he will get. No way anyone else starts the year, I doubt Spo wants the SL to consist of 4 players who have never played for him before, I figure Anthony and Chalmers will start the year, but that could change as early as within the first month. Whoever is point, unless LBJ or Wade play there, won't really be playing the point, just defending opposing point guards. -
This is the least excited I've been in a few years. The past 3-4 years we have come into the season with something to work towards, some sort of expectations, but now this year we find ourselves basically cheering to lose. My biggest fear is that we win 37 games and get a useless player in the late lotto, we need an impact player either through the TPE, or more preferably, through the draft. I am excited to watch Demar develop, I think he is going to make major strides this year, I am nervous that Weems and Amir are going to press and try and do too much. Ideally Demar puts up 16-17 a game on solid percentages, Amir learns how to play his game without getting in foul trouble, and everyone else plays within themselves, and Ed Davis shows some nice flashes. A top 3 pick is what I want so badly.

if he had half a brain he would have learnt how to shoot a jumper by his 5th season.

Rondo? that seems kinda random to me I don't know. Steve Nash has to be up there for sure, Jason Kidd as well, most white players seriously usually have a pretty good basketball IQ since they don't typically have that natural athleticism to make them naturally effective.

Can the Heat win a championship this year...
Check my Stats replied to Multi-Billionaire's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
let my check my crystal ball he has 1 year to do it, if he doesn't win it this year he's done. He is a solid defensive coach and the offense will take care of itself you would think, it's just there is only a few coaches who would unconditionally get respect from a roster with as much stardom as this one, but it seems all these guys are on the same page so they should be fine. even if they lose game 7 on a buzzer beater in the finals, Spo will get canned, it really is a shame. -
nice, welcome.

Cuban sees no threat in Lakers

If Caron and Haywood didn't make them champs surely a broken down Chandler won't either. -
NBA's Fab Five: Small Forwards

I like Granger more than Wallace but it isn't something worth arguing about really, I can co-sign that list. -
isn't prostitution illegal? if you don't pay her, her pimp is gonna find you and [expletive] your [expletive] up.... they aren't going to the cops lol....

I heard that dude from Home Improvement maybe, also the guy from the British Version, he might be the one guy who can save the ratings.... even though the show will still be good after Carrell, I think he is the hugest draw so they are probably cooked after one season without him.
-
It might suck with that stigma of knowing Steve Carrell is leaving at the end but hopefully they can do a good job replacing him somehow, I honestly have no idea how they are going to do it and I don't think they do either. I trust their writers though, they do a great job... I would seriously love for Daryl to be the boss but his only real funny interactions are with Michael.

Sixers Emerge as Anthony's landing spot
Check my Stats replied to magicbalala245's topic in Philadelphia 76ers Team Forum
Unless Evan Turner was going to Denver I don't know what they would be sending. I guess maybe Jrue+Speights and picks might tickle their fancy but that would be kind of the opposite direction Philly should be going, and they would probably have to send Brand too unless they have the contracts. I doubt Philly is making a play for Melo since I doubt Melo would want to sign there long-term after getting there, but you never know... Iggy-Turner-Melo could be fun. -
No GM we hire will be better than BC, now that the Euro experiment is officially over I think he will give us the best chance to win moving forward. I love the pieces he has in place now, that Kleiza signing seemed meh but it looks like another sick Jarret Jack type of pickup that will help us moving forward. Ideally for Toronto we put an exciting prospects on the floor that still sells tickets to keep MLSE happy, and we pick in the high lotto after winning tons of games. I don't know if MLSE understands how important it is that we add another top pick, sure ticket sales and stuff might suffer this year and even for a couple years, but the dividends could be so huge if we add a top prospect to this roster with the already good pieces we have in place. Right now everything is in place, we just need to add a franchise player through the draft (yes, 'just' lol). Demar, Bargnani, Sonny, Kleiza, all these guys are awesome complimentary players, we need a guy who can be 'the man', it is imperative we get a top 3 pick this year, I fear that isn't going to happen though. If BC's future lies in our record this year I don't really know what to say, his future should really be dictated by if he is able to continue to shed salary or not and continue the rebuilding/retooling direction.

Durant in an elite group of scorers
Check my Stats replied to Real Deal's topic in Oklahoma City Thunder Team Forum
lol.... he takes way too many jumpers to EVER put up close to 60%.. and if he is averaging close to 40 a game I doubt they are winning 50 games.... hopefully his scoring just stays as is and he starts learning how to make his teammates better. -
Yao Ming will only play 24 minutes a game

he should just retire if this is true. -
Dampier released by the Bobcats

give me Dampier over Anthony all day everyday, it isn't even a debate as far as I am concerned. -
Worst losses suffered as a fan?
Check my Stats replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
VC and the Nets beating us after arguably the best season in franchise history. For the older fans it would definitely be the Sixers series, if we win that series we probably go to the finals and this franchise is completely different. -
Bryant and all-time Lakers records
Check my Stats replied to Real Deal's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
I think Kobe has pretty much destroyed the whole can't do it without Shaq thing the past 2 years but beating Miami would finally put an end to it. Kobe is great but I'm not sure he will ever surpass MJ in the majority's eyes because his first 3 rings will always be discounted.
