Do you think lbj will win back his fans?
Check my Stats replied to reno's topic in General NBA Discussion
Cleveland fans will never forgive him (rightfully so), Kobe stans will continue to hate him, everyone else will kind of put it in the back of their heads unless he rings off 5 straight titles and they will just look for reasons to hate on him lol. -
Eleven types of obnoxious basketball fans on the Internet
Check my Stats replied to Lkr's topic in General NBA Discussion
It would be interesting to see how many Laker fans there would be if Kobe actually got dealt in that year he demanded the trade.... I think he is stanned upon more than any other NBA player... there are more 'Kobe fans' than any other player. I think everyone falls under each of the categories at least once in a while, it is hard to root for your team and argue while at the same time always being 100% impartial and not a homer. You can most definitely sign me up in that tanker category this year. Also this entire board is pretty much an LBJ player hater, it is kind of funny actually. -
Raptors Sign Kleiza To $20M Offer Sheet
Check my Stats replied to Doc's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
Looks like a struck a nerve, I don't care how old you are it doesn't get rid of the fact your opinion is flawed by your hate. When was Hedo an all-star? For all I care Barbosa could never suit up in a jersey, the fact we turned that horrible 4 year deal into 2 (and less per year at that) is enough for me, him potentially playing well would be a bonus more than anything. Kleiza vs Warrick isn't a discussion? They both averaged a similar PPG in similar playing time last time, they are both good for what they do, the only reason the Kleiza contract is much worse in your eyes is pretty obvious. If Linas can give us 25 solid minutes a night (when we are trying to win in a couple years) I have no problem paying him 5M (it'll be less by then, like I said before it is front loaded), there are far worse contracts out there, this is a really manageable deal. I'll be the first to wish we didn't sign him to it, but it isn't worth crying about because it isn't a crippling deal like the Hedo one was. I am well aware we aren't a desireable place for a superstar to play, but neither is Milwaukee, neither are a bunch of NBA cities for that matter.... all it comes down to is money (which we have if MLSE is willing to spend it at the time) and if we are able to put a winning team together... we will never be able to sign a franchise player like Miami or New York could, but that isn't how you build a team anyways, you build teams through the draft, you add your complimentary pieces via FA, which is something the Raptors can do. It comes down to winning and money, if both are there I am sure they can put the icy arctic image in the back of their head Demar has had more than 5-10 solid games, he had a rock solid rookie campaign. He shot 50% from the field which is pretty impressive for a rookie, he played well within himself and was always a last option offensively. He has dominated the summer league and has been easily the best player so far, only Hickson is in the same league, he looks like a man among boys out there.... I don't think he will be a superstar but if we are bottom 3 this year or whatever, and add a highly touted prospect, he is a really solid complimentary piece moving forward. I don't know much about college ball but I do know that at the end of the College year 2 years ago (the year before this one) Davis was slotted as a top 3 pick, he broke his hand and it went downhill from there... If you are a big, can block shots, and hit the glass, and finish with a nice touch around the rim consistently, you are a piece moving forward... not to mention I read somewhere the Spurs were looking to obtain him somehow, which is always a good sign if you draft a guy the Spurs want. Sorry for the long response again, I keep on rambling smh. -
Adding another top 5 pick to this core would be outstanding... teams should take notes because this is how you build a championship contender long term... through the draft, not patching up through FA. They have a nice start but they still need a 3rd main piece with Cousins and Reke, hopeffully for the Kings sake Cousins turns into the player people think he can be, if he does they have a very bright future.

Can the Suns still make the playoffs?
Check my Stats replied to Poe's topic in Phoenix Suns Team Forum
I think Nash has the LeBron or Wade effect with the Suns because of the system they play... they will win 45+ games again... they have a bevy of shooters around Nash and another solid creator in Hedo.... they don't have that deadly pick and roll player in Amare but they still have enough shooters to win them a lot of games. -
Stop using Vince as a jumpshooter, his skills are falling off but he can still be a good player imo... anyways you start VC because he is still the superior player, but you get Redick more minutes this year, play him at the 1 at times too with VC in the lineup. He needs to get 30 minutes a game this year.

Raptors Sign Kleiza To $20M Offer Sheet
Check my Stats replied to Doc's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
If they are still in Toronto? Considering the Raptors are always bordering the top 10 in attendance and are owned by one of the richest ownership groups in the league, I don't think they are going anywhere anytime soon.... all of this is in spite of mediocrity at best over the past 15 years, if the Raptors ever became contenders the attendance would be awesome. The Suns aren't wasting money? Are you kidding me? They just took one of the worst contracts in the league, signed a big man who is scared to go inside, can't rebound and can only hit 3's, to a huge deal... they signed Warrick to a deal comparable to Kleiza and both are role players... I don't think the Raps wanted Kleiza based on his Euro experience considering we tried to get him before he even went over. Demar and Ed Davis aren't throwaways on other teams, maybe Sonny Weems is, but Demar is far from a throwaway and Davis was a top prospect before he broke his hand if I remember correctly. You are clearly a Raptors hater, I've seen your type before, one of the kids who doesn't cheer for his local team and would rather rip on them for their mistakes. If you are going to [expletive] on the Raptors you should get your facts straight first. -
Need more topics, I come back and the newest threads thing is always the same.

Not really, I don't like the signing but it is a manageable contract for a role player. The fact that it is front loaded is good for us long term as well. -

It will be cool to watch him and Sonny fight for the starting job at the 3. -
Can he hit a 3 consistently? Can he play defense still? If so sign him up.

You are clearly misinterpreting my posts. I said the reason it was worse for him (from his personal perspective), because he would probably have the ball less, I didn't say he would have a worse year lol.. with the extra shots he will get he will get more points on his usual 41%. I just said, from his perspective, I asusmed he would be less happy with the ball in his hands potentially even less. In regards to his spot up shooting, his spot up shooting ISN'T what makes him an effective player, I don't know what else to say to you if you think his shooting is what makes him the player that was signed to a 50 million dollar deal. It is a part of his game, but it isn't his strength which is all I was saying lol. Hedo, like BFT said, is better shooting off the dribble and working off screens, opposed to taking a pass from Nash and launching a 3... he is at his best with the ball in his hands, not playing off of others. I don't see how I changed my mind, I initially said (after news on this deal broke a while ago) that Hedo would be playing even more off the ball, which I figured wouldn't make him happy. After reading that article it seems they are going to play Nash more off-ball than I initially expected, but it didn't change my opinion. I don't call people who disagree with me and have valid points idiots, if BFT disagreed with me I wouldn't call him an idiot because I can see what he is saying... but if you are going to sit here and tell me that Hedo is at his best as a spot up shooter, chances are I will call you an idiot. You seem to read my posts and take different meanings from them than I intend, I will try and make my posts more straight forward to you from now on so you stop taking them the wrong way. Anyways I am done rambling on, I hate making posts this long.

Hopefully the wait before the finals to utilize him this year

Lol at 'nothing'. While just about everyone will have their doubts in what I am about to say, I believe he was sincere about wanting to return to Cleveland, but Bosh being adamantly against going there with him, and going to Miami, sealed his fate. I think he was reluctant to play there for an extended period with that mediocre cast. If they wanted to keep him, rather than taking him to finance meetings, getting his friends jobs, and bowing to his every demand, they should have put a team around him, that, IMO, is all that it His comment about the Lakers (Kobe shooting 6'24 and still winning because his team) pretty much summed his decision up for me, he wanted to be on a team where he was able to have a bad game and still win, he wanted to be on a team where he could win multiple championships, without Bosh, that was not Cleveland. If he stayed, they might have won 1 title in the next 5 years, if he goes to Miami, or even CHI, he will win multiple titles.

Such a big contract. -
This is what was interesting to me on this read, if they are serious about playing Nash off the ball some, then bringing in Hedo could really pay off for them. Hedo passing to Nash for the shot would equal more success than Nash passing to Hedo for the shot. Anyways I have no doubt that Hedo will see an increase in his PPG, his efficiency will definitely leave a lot to be desired but due to the extra usage (probably) and definitely more shots, he will definitely gets his points back. I hope for the Suns sake, he comes into camp in shape and ready to go, he can be a difference maker if he is motivated, him waiving his trade kicker to go there is a good sign to start. If the Suns are going to win 55 again this year Nash is going to have to have a HUGE year though.

Jefferson is the better player than Boozer overall to me. Korver is definitely better than Bell at this point. Utah won't be able to utilize the pick and roll with Al Jeff as much as they did with Boozer.. but with Al Jeff they have someone they can throw the ball down into and let go to work. Adjustments are goign to have to be made by both the Jazz and Jefferson if this pairing is going to be a success.... you can definitely expect Al to be a 20-10 player again this year. This Hayward kid has game though, will be interesting to see if he gets run his first season, don't be surprised if Bell doesn't play more than 10 MPG this year. To answer the question, I think they might struggle out of the gate, but in terms of overall talent they added better players (or assets at least, I am considering age here too), I think their record might be worse but Jefferson is a player, he got traded for KG for a reason.

We have all the pieces set up for to put around a superstar at any position if we are bottom 3 this year, that would be awesome, the entire culture of the team is being transformed. The Euro experiment is all but officially over, our team is littered with athletic players who can run the floor, the addition of Kleiza is a nice tough nosed player along with potential Dorsey as well. Also Poe always puts words in my mouth, I said that Hedo was unhappy last year with Jose holding the ball so much, from his perspective this kind of sucks (apparently not though since he waived his trade kicker) because he will probably hold it even less. I never even said that he would be worse next to Nash, I just said their skillsets don't particularly compliment one another, which I didn't think was too far fetched, but apparently it was. And yes I will admit I almost disagree with him 95% of the time, besides his T-mac comment the other day. Also Poe is Barbosa the type of value you expected we would get for Hedo? I thought he had trade value around the league? Also in regards to Triano I don't think he is a terribly bad coach, I think it is unfortunate that he is pretty much BC's puppet though. He was really solid in developing Demar this past year and slowly helping get used to the league, hopefully he just throws him to the wolves this year though. Bargnani became better almost instantly playing under Triano opposed to Smitch (admittedly this might say more about Bargs than Triano -_- ). I think he is a solid x's and o's guy, but I think he is way too soft to be an NBA coach, our players clearly didn't respect him (clearly evident in Hedo) and there were hardly any repercussions for bad plays, especially on the defensive end. Overall he obviously isn't great, or even ideal, but I think we could do a lot worse.
