Considering the circumstances of being the Toronto Raptors GM, lack of players wanting to be here and lack of overall success the franchise has had, I think BC has been a really solid GM for us. Drafting Bargnani isn't as bad as people make it out to be since I am convinced Gay or Aldridge are jetting this off-season had we drafted them anyways. Overall the only horrific transaction he has made has been the Turkoglu signing, everything else was reversible and either minimal penalty or good reward, he just never hit that homerun transaction like he did in Phoenix with Steve Nash. Also if TJ Ford doesn't get his neck broken again, we probably aren't even having this discussion. I don't think Brian deserves to be fired, but he needs to stop ignoring or being oblivious to his team's glaring weaknesses in Toronto. What is the Raptors record here during his tenure? Around the .500 mark? I think the problem with how BC has had to quickly build these teams lies more in MLSE than it does in him himself. Brian's biggest weakness is his sense of money, does Bargnani get 10 million on the open market? Does Jose Calderon get 9 million on the open market? Would Ford have gotten the contract he did at the time on the open market? Was Jason Kapono really that high in demand for all that money? Besides Bargnani, all these contracts were pretty bad.
