Miami Intensifies Pursuit of Stoudemire
Check my Stats replied to Flash's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
I think if you are trading 4 'depth' guys for a star, quite simply, you do it, no questions asked. Anyways I think value-wise this would be a great deal for Miami, especially since it is Amare's home town and he will likely re-sign. I think the Heat would need to make another move or two after this to acquire a shooter, since they will have NONE, and IMO you can't have a team without at least one good/great outside shooter starting or at least on the bench. They could probably pick up a cheap outside shooter on a half decent contract. I also think you are crazy on Dorell Wright, he is decent but will be a 5th starter at best IMO. JO | Amare | Beasley | Wade | Alston That is a pretty damn talented starting 5, and it would pretty much ensure Wade would stay. -
Cavs, Wiz in intense discussions over Jamison

I can't believe they are so attached to Hickson, I don't see anything particularly special in the kid, I guess I should watch him more. -
Lol that is the dumbest idea ever, the pick thing, there would be no balance at all through the league, and it would force teams to build through FA, teams like the Raptors and Clippers and Bucks would be screwed because they have so much trouble attracting FA's. The current system isn't ideal, but it is better than anything else they could do. A hard cap would restore some balance as well, the top 5 teams in the NBA are also the top 5 highest payrolls pretty much, so a hard cap would allow all 30 teams (potentially) to spend the same amount of money, it would force teams to build teams without overpaying in FA constantly (Rashard Lewis anyone?) and wouldn't allow teams to constantly sit on their roster. I think a Hard Cap would just do a better job of spreading the talent out around the league more evenly, and would help the teams who can't afford to spend with the likes of the Cavaliers, Lakers, Knicks, etc. Anyways the only team legit 'tanking', is the Nets, so this isn't a concern IMO.

Honestly these kids think the Wizards are going to sour their own future just to spoil the Cavaliers. I think they are holding out for Hickson but will eventually fold, they can't pass on the chance to dump that contract off. -
It is different playing in the all-star game when you don't see a 2nd and 3rd defender as soon as the ball touches your fingertips.

Any move the Sixers are rumoured to do lack any sort of direction. Amare for Iggy is a lateral move. They need to decide if they want to make a push and be a competitive team and in the playoff picture, or do they want to tear it down and start over with a youth movement. Either way a deal with the Suns makes no sense. I think they should deal for Beasley if they have the chance to.

You could talk about whether or not a hard cap is a good thing for basketball. It is something that the owners are pushing for so it is relevant and also debatable IMO. -

Wow. -
Apparently the Raptors are still interested in Kevin Martin for Jose Calderon, idk if the Kings are. I don't know tbh, I mean we are hot right now and you don't want to mess with that, but at the same time you can't pass on a chance to add a legitimate second option scorer to this team, someone like Martin, can you? I don't know, Colangelo should just do whatever the [expletive] Bosh wants

Miami Intensifies Pursuit of Stoudemire

Heat won't be getting Amare if Beasley is off the table IMO, they have nothing to offer that is better than Hickson. Maybe if the Cavs fall out of the running they can, but otherwise I don't see it happening. I am happy to see the Heat making an attempt to make an immediate move to appease their star rather than sitting back. -
Allen and Perkins to Golden State?
Check my Stats replied to Real Deal's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
Over under 7 PPG for how much Ellis' PPG would go down on a 'normal' team? Any deal is a bad deal for the Celtics right now IMO, they should stand pat one more year and focus on getting healthy. If they fail this year then okay, make a move in the off-season. Ellis and K-Mart will ruin this team, they are young and used to being featured offensive players, and neither are a quarter of the player off the ball Allen is, and even though Allen has been struggling he is a better shooter than both of them. -
Suns and Cavs talking Stoudemire trade

Who cares what it looked like? That is like saying who cares what this looks like now since we don't know what Hickson will become. EDIT: Ya Marc was a top rated Euro player but don't be crazy, no one knew Marc would become as good as he is now this fast. That trade was highway robbery at the time, just like this deal would be now. -
I know the plan is for 2 superstars but...

nvm I thought this was in the Heat forum. I think the Knicks need a main guy so they should just try and get whoever they can. Their fans have waited 2+ years so just get the biggest name possible. -
Possible Lakers-Blazers trade?

I think it is mostly speculation. -
You can't expect to get a good player without giving anything of value, Dorrel Wright is an extremely small price to pay if it leads to you landing Amare or Jamison.

LeBron.

Possible Lakers-Blazers trade?
Check my Stats replied to The Regime's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
I am guessing the Lakers will begin pushing especially hard to get Hinrich if/once the Cavaliers land Amare. -
I agree Dirk should have taken the final shot, but if Billups took it I wouldn't really be complaining either.
-
Lol at that shot by Melo. Anyways, pretty cool that Bosh iced the game for the East.
-
They should, there is enough talent to build upon on that roster. They don't need players, they need a coach.

Cavaliers Get No Respect, Says LeBron

Agree x100000 I don't think the team you play on should affect you getting into ASW, especially the competitions. -
Suns and Cavs talking Stoudemire trade
Check my Stats replied to The Regime's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
The trade was lopsided, especially since no one knew how good Gasol would be at the time. Luckily Marc panned out and looks really good, the Lakers still got the better end but the deal isn't as lopsided as it first seemed. Lakers, like the Cavaliers look like they are doing, got an all-star without giving anything of significance to them. -

I tend to [expletive] on Amare but Hickson will never be close, he will be great with Nash though, will get a lot of dunks and easy buckets from Nash. Hickson was picked in the late first round for a reason, the kid has a lot of holes in his game and will probably never be an all-star. In terms of the deal this is no risk because the Cavaliers are giving nothing they can't afford to lose, but like BFT said this could mess the Cavs up. I do it just so come playoff time LeBron has an ACTUAL 2nd option at his side, not just Mo Williams. Plus Amare has a nice little face up jumper doesn't he? Like in the 10-13 foot range or something? If he can stick that jumper consistently I am sure this deal will work out fine. I am talking about that jumper Z is always taking, if Amare is capable of doing that relatively consistently he should be fine. Plus having Amare as your starting 4 against the Celtics and Lakers in the playoffs is better than Hickson.
