I think the d-league is fine. Not many teams have enough competent talent to field their own d-league team. Plus that is a lot of players to be under contract (d-league players get paid right?). I think it is good how it is that if you want your own d-league team you can but you can also just send your guys down to play for w/e team. But at the same time having your own is good because you can have complete control over how it is run and who is getting the minutes and what not.

Not that their defense was particularly amazing, but they were obviously feeling it and causing lots of turnovers and getting out and running and they forced the Nets to call a timeout because they got like 3 dunks in 3 minutes. Then we bring Hedo and Marco on the floor like wtf -_- Right now I am hating Marco, Bargnani and Jose when he is playing. I am actually liking Weems lately he is playing more within himself it seems even though he takes a lot of bone headed shots (less of a ball stopper than Wright though). He just played a really complete game last night. Personally I have just completely lost faith in Triano, I feel like he is just BC's puppet.

Bosh Says He Won't Look at Nets This Offseason
Check my Stats replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
I am pretty sure he is gonna go to the Knicks then if this is true, but the Nets are an absolute mess right now so I can't blame him. -
My only complaint is Jay's horrible rotations. We got on a great role, causing turnovers and getting fastbreak dunks with Weems and Demar out there, timeout called and he yanks em. I was heated and so were my friends (we were at the game). Demar was playing amazing and got yanked at his usual time, very aggravating. Nets were horrible, the Raptors played with an increased defensive effort it seemed, but the Nets offense was just out of sorts. CDR thought he was Kobe, guys were taking random contested jumpers, Harris went through spurts where he tried then didn't do [expletive] all. Just an ugly game from a Nets fan perspective. From where i was sitting it was nice to see the Raptors pick a team apart on defense, haven't seen the Raptors get that many dunks in a very long time. Demar's on Lopez was amazing.

Was at the game tonight and the Nets offense was an absolute mess, no structure whatsoever. At times it was Harris doing it all, at others CDR thought he was Kobe. Just a mess, turnovers left and right to a terrible defensive team, the Raptors had like a dozen dunks.

Have always disliked Arenas as a person and as a player. I always thought he was 'me-me-me guy' and a hollow stats player and played for himself. He is completely oblivious to what it takes to win and doesn't know what he needs to do for his own team to be successful. The guy will never be a winner and these knee surgeries seem to have taken their toll because he is playing worse than ever, at least he got paid right? Seems like he always had a chip on his shoulder and wanted to drop 50 to prove to everyone, and himself, that he was good enough. Sorry Gilbert, you are a chucker and will never be on a good team as the top guy.

I said before the year I really liked the Mavs and if they managed to get Gortat I would have loved their team even more. They are very talented and deep, and they have a lot of good veterans and they know what it takes to win. They also have Dirk who might be the toughest match up in the entire NBA. I thought the Marion pick up in the off-season was huge for the Mavs, idk if he has been doing anything but I thought Marion would be a great glue guy for them even if he is making a bit more money than he should. Would love to see the Mavs do well this year, I feel bad for Dirk when people call him a choker and what not because he is a top 5-10 player in the league and is an absolute stud.

Bryan Colangelo Contract Situation
Check my Stats replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
He is probably the best GM we have had, he has probably assumbled the most talent on a single roster we have had ever but they just don't mesh together all that well. He is a good GM but I feel like his biggest weakness is his loyalty and generosity. He was always talking about "taking care of Shawn [Marion]" in the off-season. Then he signs Bargs and Jose to 10 mill deals each. I feel like he is really aggressive which is good but has jumped the gun on multiple occasions. The Bargs extension could have waited until after this year and Jose was never worth more than 7 mill or maybe even the MLE alone. Regardless I don't think there is another GM out there who would do a better job than Brian has, I just really hate how he looks at his players and is unable or unwilling to admit their flaws. Jose and Bargnani need to gtfo! -
Paul Pierce Wants Rims Raised

The only two guys who I can think of at a clear disadvantage due to their athleticism and dunking is D12 and LeBron. This is a very weird proposition but I like the way he is thinking I guess. -
Bosh Unhappy With Toronto's Strategy
Check my Stats replied to NJNJ's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
Toronto doesn't try because there are no repercussions from the coach for lack of effort. Guys half [expletive] night in night out and it is hard to watch because I feel like they are wasting my time, I don't even want to go the games because I only feel like a handful of guys on the Raptors really care so why the [expletive] am I paying money to watch these guys go out and half [expletive] it? While we shouldn't be a great or maybe not even average defensive team, we should at least be competent. Our coach isn't getting the best out of roster and should be fired, sadly we have already gone through a coach and Toronto either is unable or unwilling to bring in an established coach. It is really frustrating to be honest. We need an actual big man, but BC is either oblivious to this or has too much pride to admit the Bargnani experiment is going to fail. You can't have two finesse big men and win IMO, we have no presence in the paint defensively and with the amount of times our wings get blown by it all starts from there. You get inside and then that opens up the kick outs, teams just get easy points off us because Bargnani and Bosh can't anchor a competent defense IMO. Triano seems like a nice guy, but he also seems like a terrible motivator. At least with Mitchell it seemed like the players generally respected him and he got effort out of his team on both ends, if not he at least had the balls to send them to the bench (see Bargnani during Mitchell era). Mitchell was a bad coach too but I am just saying, both are bad coaches. We need someone who is going to demand the respect of these players and make them play hard every game not just when the [expletive] they feel like it. /rant. -
They don't fear or respect their coach. They need a coach who can get the best out of their players.

Getting rid of Jose is better because we are paying 10 million to a backup PG.

Who should make the All Star team from Boston?
Check my Stats replied to Celtics3420's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
You can be an all-star caliber player, but the guys having all-star seasons are the ones who should be in the game. I wouldn't suggest Lee make the C slot if he wasn't listed as a C, check ESPN dummy, unless ESPN is not a credible enough stat site for you The fact a 12-7 player might be considered for the all star game says more about the lack of big men then it does about his season. Lopez is easily the best C in the east and having easily the 2nd best year, if not the best, he should most definitely be in the game but he won't because his team stinks. Dwight is having a pretty mediocre year by his standards, 18-12 compared to Lopez getting 20-10. I have no problems with your opinions besides the Perkins one, he isn't an all-star, not now, not this year not ever. The best players are supposed to be in the all-star games, not guys who average mediocre numbers and are being considered just because he is on a good team. -
Missed the game but it looks like Jack was effective. I am still confident that if Jack gets comfortable in the starting 5 we are most definitely a better team with him starting or getting the more minutes at PG than with Jose playing. This should allow Turk to get more touches with Jose the ball whore out and Jack is a better hustle, defensive and slashing PG than Jose, all things this team has lacked at PG the past season with Jose starting.

Melo might very well be the toughest guy to guard in the NBA right now.

Who should make the All Star team from Boston?
Check my Stats replied to Celtics3420's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
Perkins is definitely not making the all-star game lmao, Shaq will get the nod over him based on his resume alone. Perkins is nice, in fact better than I probably give him credit for. But he is a role player at best, not an all star, give me a break. Lee would get in before Perkins did. In order I would go Pierce, Rondo, Allen, KG. Honestly Perkins seems to be as useful as KG is at this point, KG looks like a shell of his old self from what I've seen, still effective none the less. In actuality if the Celtics have more than 2 all-stars then someone else in the East is getting robbed, I wouldn't be surprised if the big 4 all made it though even though there are way better options out there. Celtics kinda remind me of the Pistons a few years ago, when they had no all-stars statistically IMO but still had 4 guys in there somehow. I hate seeing second rate stars or mediocre players even get considered for the all-star game just based on team success, sorry but guys like Jameer Nelson, Mo Williams, Kendrick Perkins are not all stars. Rondo should only get in because of how weak the East is for PG's. The best players should get in the all-star games, not the best players on the best teams strictly, while I agree that should be considered someone like Perkins shouldn't get in over Lopez or Lee who are having tremendous years, almost both are 20-10 players right now. And it's not as if they are chucking, they are both playing as efficiently as you could want. -
True, I would hate to play against someone like KG.
-
For having to defend someone it has gotta be LeBron. The guy can flat out bully you with his size, Kobe could pick you apart but LeBron could flatten you or demolish you.

This could be an ugly game.

Cavs: Contenders or Pretenders?
Check my Stats replied to Cleveland's Finest's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
They could easily wind up in the finals but are they the favourites? No. Frankly I believe any of the top 4 teams in the East could wind up in the finals, but the only team I see beating the Lakers are the Celtics. -
What is Yi doing this year? Why is he not up there?

I don't follow college basketball at all, but that sounds like WAY too many teams to me.

Rondo Deserves to Be an All-Star
Check my Stats replied to NJNJ's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
Rondo should be an all star before KG or Allen are.
