Donatas Motiejunas looks pretty good.
Check my Stats replied to YugoRocketsFan's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
He looks like he has potential to be a really good role player in the NBA. 7 footer with a motor that can shoot 3's, well there's always a place for them, or someone who wants them. -
Lakers, Bulls, Suns, Mavericks Interested In Mayo
Check my Stats replied to The Regime's topic in General NBA Discussion
Didn't they renounce his rights? Not sure how it works, but I assumed by doing that they lost his bird rights. Anyways, Chicago is a perfect fit. 30+ minutes a night, 2nd/3rd option offensively (obviously not ideal for CHI, but beggars can't be choosers), and a contender for the next while? Perfect, they both give each other what they are wanting. -
Felton to Knicks close, Lin to Houston?
Check my Stats replied to Real Deal's topic in New York Knicks Team Forum
Felton is a solid player when he is playing to the best of his abilities. At least with him, you aren't investing a bitch load of money into a what if, you already know he is a starting caliber point in this league. I like this from a basketball standpoint for the Knicks. [expletive] the Rockets man. I am dreading when Derozan is an RFA next year. If he puts up 18 points on 43% shooting, Houston is gonna offer a match. -

What Happens With Calderon Now?
Check my Stats replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
I just don't see which teams would be willing to pay 10 million for him, I get that he's expiring, but to me, he is not a starter on a playoff team, or at least a playoff team with a chance to win a series. I guess he could fit on a team like Indiana right now since they stupidly traded away a decent point guard, and they owe us one for the Roy Hibbert-Jermaine O'Neal fleecing. If I had to guess, it would be that he opens training camp with the Toronto Raptors. I'd rather us just buy him out or cut him outright instead of amnestying him, it would be a waste to amnesty an expiring contract if there are no free agents to pursue. The reason he would want out would presumably be to start somewhere else, but I just don't see any possible fits. The only way I see him getting dealt is if he is a piece to a bigger deal (ie. him and Derozan for Iggy rumoured deal, etc). -
This would be a perfect deal for both teams if Oklahoma City was in Brooklyn. That's all it comes down to for Dwight, which is pretty sad IMO.

Negotiations w/ Denver going well for McGee
Check my Stats replied to ChosenOne's topic in Denver Nuggets Team Forum
If they can tap that potential, that contract might wind up being a huge steal. Hell, even if they don't, is 10 million that bad for a player giving you 11-8-3, considering all the other contracts being given out? Lol this league is [expletive]ed. Being part of a legitimate franchise should be huge for this kid though, rather than the Wizards whose locker room seemed to be horrible while he was there. -
Sounds like him getting amnestied is a done deal. So stupid, Scola is a good, quality player that is on a reasonable contract (given what other FA's are getting) that you actually have, in your hands, and you're letting him go for a CHANCE at one year of Dwight. Why the [expletive] would Dwight stay in a situation that is basically the exact same as Orlando, personnel wise. Bunch of mediocre players around him. I hope the Raptors take a look at Scola. EDIT: Honestly Morey is putting together a pretty horrible off-season bit by bit. Seems like their team can't decide what the [expletive] they are going to do. If you wanted to absorb all those contract, why didn't you just NOT offer Asik a huge contract? Retarded.

Wolves waive Darko Milicic w/ amnesty clause
Check my Stats replied to ChosenOne's topic in Minnesota Timberwolves Team Forum
Teams can always use guys who can block a couple shots each game, just not at 4M. He could be a decent pickup as a 2nd/3rd big off the bench on a smaller contract, one more appropriately matched with his value. -
Pacers, Augustin agree to one-year deal

They wouldn't have gotten anything for him. Maybe a 2nd rounder. -
Greg Oden says he wants to play this year
Check my Stats replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in General NBA Discussion
This reeks of "I'm broke" to me. If he was serious about coming back, and being an impact player (maybe not what was expected, but still a player who can contribute), he would be taking the entire year off to rehab, get into top shape. Anyways, if I'm Oden, I try my ass off to get to the Suns. -
POR, CHA and HOU preparing offer sheets for Brook Lopez
Check my Stats replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
In an ideal world he's not. But this isn't an ideal world is it, if it was your favourite team wouldn't be paying max money to two players who don't deserve it either. The reality is that any player with potential to be a first, second, or third option offensively, is probably going to be getting max money. I'm not saying he's a max player, I am saying he is a player who will get max money when he is playing to what he is capable of. This is a league where Omar Asik and Landry Fields get offered huge contracts, where Nicolas Batum is somehow a 12 million player, a player without a brain (McGee) is going to get 10+ million. To act like giving a big with potential to average 22 and 9 a big contract is crazy, well that's just ignorant IMO. You have to consider the landscape of the NBA right now. Giving Brook Lopez max money isn't outrageous when role players are getting a shade under max money. Its not ideal, but its also not outrageous. -
Is this still not allowed? That is hilarious.

POR, CHA and HOU preparing offer sheets for Brook Lopez
Check my Stats replied to Real Deal's topic in General NBA Discussion
People sleep on Brook Lopez imo. Is he a max player? No, but a healthy Brook Lopez is getting max money from SOMEONE 10 times out of 10. 20 point big men don't grow on trees. And even though he is a bad rebounder (he is a better rebounder than 5 boards per game that he got 2 seasons ago, and last year is a wash), he is still a very solid player in this league. I haven't heard anything about his health at all, but if he gets back to 100%, the Nets should still be a threat in the east with him at the center position, and Hump at the 4 grabbing every board possible. Lets say the Nets get an 18-8-1.5 season out of Brook Lopez this year, is that not going to get max money from someone? The biggest concern for Brook is his health at this point, but as a basketball player, he is a very good player. -
What exactly are the Mavs doing?
Check my Stats replied to The Regime's topic in Dallas Mavericks Team Forum
Biding their time. They will have room for 2 max contracts next summer (with an amnesty and moving Marion - very possible), and Chris Paul and Dwight Howard are free agents. A lot of people just assume CP3 is going to stick with the Clippers, but the owner there is a cunt, and their coach is incompetent, two facets the Mavericks are top notch in. The Mavs have the best owner in sports, and will get to the top again. Its just a matter of whether it is 1 year, or 5 years. All their eggs were in one basket and if not for the Joe Johnson trade, this thread definitely doesn't even exist. I'd expect them to make a huge run at CP3 and Dwight next summer, and if that fails, they are going to have to reassess what they're doing. As of now, I'd be pretty surprised if the Mavericks made the playoffs. But really, a lottery pick to play with next summer, and a ton of cap, might not be such a bad thing, would it? This team has won over 50 games for a decade. A DECADE. Lets not act like they can't afford to have a couple of down years. -
I get not wanting Wesley Johnson, for the fact that he sucks. D-Will on the other hand, at least has potential, and is a bit of a saving grace, and maybe a better idea than paying a king's ransom for Batum.

Report: Camby S&T to Knicks nearing completion
Check my Stats replied to Teletopez's topic in New York Knicks Team Forum
It is absolutely inexcusable to me that Miami did not go full out to bring in Marcus Camby instead of Ray Allen. -
And 2012 too, stupid.
-
Rashard Lewis was an utter scrub last year (the last couple years actually). That is why you "haven't heard much from him". At least he is a decent rebounder at the 3, that's about all I'd give him at this point. Its almost like Riley is ignoring the actual issue on this team right now, and if Steve Nash really has as much of an impact for LA as he could, then LA is a serious, serious threat to Miami.

Why....?

Raptors Re-Sign Gray to 2 Year, $5M Deal
Check my Stats replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
You don't need to start to develop. If anything it is probably best for Jonas to come off the bench and play with our backup point guard who thrives in the screen and role, and not have him guarding the best centers in the game to start. He is going to foul a lot when he gets into the league, and having him on the first 6-9 minutes against all the best centers of the league, and him picking up 2 fouls in 4 minutes all the time, is NOT going to do anything for his development. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes the starting job at some point during the year, because he is clearly our most talented big, but playing in the pros is going to be a big adjustment, and it doesn't serve any non-superstar prospect well to just be thrown to the wolves, but especially so for a big man IMO. -
You don't win with guys like JR Smith.

If the rumored Howard-to-Nets trade goes through...
Check my Stats replied to Real Deal's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
That team is a championship contender. Dwight may not be Hakeem offensively., but he would still give the Heat fits inside, and not to mention on the glass, where Miami is already pretty suspect. Not to mention the Nets' 2 best players, are where Miami's worst starters are every game. Lets see if Bosh is okay with being the starting center in a 7 game series against a force like Dwight, who will make Bosh look like an absolute bitch on the glass. Not to mention Wallace is a player who could actually attempt, key word ATTEMPT, to give LBJ some fits defensively. At 6-8 220 he obviously wouldn't be able to body LBJ, but you'd have to think he'd do a better job than most SF's in this league. I just think the Nets are scary because they have elite offensive potential with a top 3 point guard, a SG capable of dropping 25 any given night, and a big man who has managed to be a 20 and 14 force playing with a crap PG for 7 years... imagine what he does on the screen and role with Deron? But not only do they have offensive potential, they have defensive potential. We saw Dwight make the Magic a top 5 defense every year with incompetent players around him like Jameer and Hedo, he would surely be able to do the same in Brooklyn. So yeah, I think this team will have a chance to contend for an NBA championship the moment they are assembled. And they are easily better than Boston, Chicago, and everyone not named the Heat in the east. Its like people forget Dwight was winning 50-60 games a year playing with role players. Put him with a superstar point, and all-star shooting guard, on paper, you have to imagine this team contends for the title immediately.
