  1. Can't wait to see it next Tuesday on movie night.
  2. Blake Griffin is the kind of player who has no place on team USA. He brings literally no intangibles to the table, and is a gigantic bitch.
  3. Don't ever lose games on purpose as far as I am concerned (aside from tanking, but even that can [expletive] with a team's culture). Aside from how risky it is, I feel like it can just [expletive] up the locker room. I feel like you'd have to be an incredibly veteran team to do something like this, and LA can't really afford to play Kobe more than absolutely necessary. If you can steal one in OKC without Artest (very possible) then things are looking splendid in LA.
  4. It is hilarious how some players have no accountability. How can you get mad when you are a HUGE reason your team has been such a disappointment? His stats this season and post-season are incredibly disappointing. It just sucks because things really looked like they were turning around in New York. And a team with Amare and Melo both playing to their potential should at least be a threat to come out of the east, but unfortunately they aren't.
  5. Whoever coaches this team is stepping into a lose-lose situation. MJ is a stingy prick, and the new coach will inevitably be fired 2-3 years from now because this team is so far away from being competent, nevermind good. I expect a rookie coach to be taking this job, anyone else who does would just be stupid.
  6. James Harden would be a terrific add for this team. Plays within himself incredibly well and brings a lot of intangibles to the table. Would really like to see him get on there but it is pretty unlikely, he will have to wait until the next one when Wade is out, as well as Kobe (well you never know with Kobe lol). This Davis hype needs to stop. Hopefully they show footage of him getting worked in the post by actual big men in the camp. This will be a great experience for him, his first pro practices being against the world's best, but he isn't ready to guard the likes of Pau Gasol right now. He has been guarding 6-8 C's all year who weight around the same as him, put him down there with Pau, Scola, etc and he will be back on the bench immediately with 2 quick fouls, guaranteed. Like I have said, he will be a great shot blocker immediately, but his man defense is going to be suspect. If Davis was 250, then by all means give him a shot, but he isn't. He is a rail, and is going to get overpowered in his first couple years until he either adds weight (unlikely just by looking at his frame) or learns how to compensate for his lack of size. He still needs to learn the pro game before he can play with pros. The college game is incredibly different, especially for big men (fouls). I think in the long-run he is going to be a terrific player, but right now he isn't ready.
  7. When I think of ball hog, I think of Gilbert Arenas.
  8. The environment that he is in has had no help either... horrible coach, environment, etc.
  9. Allen EDIT: More useful, maybe not more skilled.
  10. Torts finally realizing that Kreider is decent....
  11. What makes you think SAC is going to deal Reke for peanuts? Besides, don't want any part of him unless he shows some sort of maturity/willingness to improve. He is basically a better version of Derozan with a way shittier attitude that could ruin our team. This is my dream.. aside from a Davis/Robinson-Val frontcourt. Val-Davis with Amir off the bench would be very solid I think, on both ends. I think Davis is incredibly undervalued by management. I remember hearing rumours that Iggy didn't want to play here (during his draft year) and that was a big reason we passed on him. Again, just a rumour and I could be completely mis-remembering this and it could be nothing... but still. And in regards to being a treadmill team, I honestly don't think it would be that bad. We are probably never going to contend for a championship (at least not in the near future), so some playoff excitement would at least be something. If we could perennially win 45+ games for 3-4 years that would be better than what we have done for the past decade... try to rebuild again after. If we somehow came out of the summer with Iggy and Steve Nash that would be pretty awesome IMHO.
  12. lol surprised Melo ain't on the bench laughing around. Dude is such a joke.
  13. Bradley Beal. Trade down if you need to. Charlotte can't afford to take a risk on a guy like Drummond, but can't afford to play it safe with a guy like MKG. If Beal becomes another Eric Gordon, the Bobcats gotta be happy with that. I think measurements and workouts are going to be key for Robinson. I've heard he struggled against bigger guys in college, and everyone is big in the NBA. Guys like Beal, Lamb, etc I think are going to shoot up boards after workouts... they will look good in an empty gym.
  14. I don't think there is a thing they could realistically do to keep him there. They lack assets and have a bunch of money tied into mediocre players.
  15. Anyways, all of this is moot if that little [expletive]er son of Dan Gilbert keeps going to the lottery.
  16. Probably never, unless they luck out in the draft lottery and pick up a top 10 player. That is just the reality of the NBA, the role of 'contender' is reserved for the big market teams (I know it sounds like I am beating a dead horse by saying this but it is the reality) and the teams who are lucky enough to draft a franchise player (the OKCs, the Spurs, etc). I get that teams need to be held accountable (has anyone shit on the Cavs management for how poorly they managed their team more than me during the whole LeBron fiasco? even I shit on the Raptors management during the Bosh era.), but at the same time I don't see the sense in punishing teams for being bad. For the rest of us who aren't fortunate enough to draft a generational talent in the lottery, our best hope is to be the Atlanta Hawks... that is the reality of the NBA. I would rather just see all 14 teams who miss the playoffs get a 14% chance at first overall and do an entirely random lottery. It at least encourages teams to build and not be afraid to win games... but punish bad teams? Absolutely horrible idea as far as I am concerned and incredibly counterproductive for the league as a whole... how many teams would have to be moved/removed after losing year after year with nothing to look forward to? Even if Milwaukee had the best management team in the world, world class facilities, players wouldn't go there... why? Because it is Milwaukee... same with about 80% of the teams in the league. Honestly, if Charlotte was picking 14th this year... and this rule was in place... what do they do? Honestly... please tell me, because I have no idea. They would probably pick near that spot every year, even if they tried their hardest... and would be relocated in less than 5 years. Unless they overpay for role players so they can be mediocre... And like Fish said, the possibility of teams purposely missing the playoffs to draft first overall (entirely possible) would be so bad for the game it is insane.
  17. As if there isn't a parity problem already. I agree tanking is a problem, but that is just the reality of it, and is for all sports now. I think the Wizards have shown a lot of people that you can't just keep picking in the lottery and assemble young talent and just become good at the snap of your fingers... it takes more than just picking high (unless you get a generational talent like Durant). I don't think the answer is the punish teams for being bad. Realistically who in the lottery wouldn't be there even if they tried their hardest? The Cavs would probably be higher, Washington if they were coached, maybe reordered a bit but probably not that much. The reason a lot of these teams are so bad i think runs deeper than just tanking, they are badly managed, poorly coached, have a horrible culture in their organization (I think is a hugely overlooked part of many organizations). Also, teams like Toronto, Milwaukee, etc, the only way they can get better is through the draft... how is Toronto ever going to not be last if they don't get a good draft pick when they suck and no free agents want to come here... I agree with Van Gundy a lot of the time, but this is a really bad idea. Being good in the NBA is just luck... and that is the reality of it. Chicago is another version of the Atlanta Hawks at best if the ping pong balls don't fall their way. OKC is nothing if they don't bounce up a couple spots and get a generational talent in Durant. This is just the reality of the NBA, to be good you need to be lucky. Good management helps along the way.
  18. I think the west is wide open. The east... well we all already know.,
  19. TD gonna be rocking tonight. This gon be good... hopefully Hunter opens his god damn eyes and plays his best player more than 15 minutes tonight. I know he played 22 last game, but still.
  20. Not sure about everyone else, but I am a lot more interested in what he is going to do, opposed to what he is going to say.
  21. It is going to be interesting. Still think LA is the best team in the west if everything is clicking with OKC right there. SAS are healthy as they have ever been and Duncan is still a stud despite popular belief, so things could get interesting.
  22. Would rather see them bring in someone with more tenure and experience. Not a bad idea in theory, especially against teams that don't have that good of bigs... but Davis' man D is going to be suspect when he comes into the league (dude is an absolute rail).... and he is young. I don't think his transition to the NBA is going to be as smooth as a lot of people think. He is a big man after all, he is going to probably pick up a lot of ticky tack fouls early on. It would be different if he had experience playing against the worlds best players, but he doesn't. Idk, just seems like a huge and unnecessary risk to me. Hibbert, or even DeAndre Jordan might be better picks IMHO. Just stick with Chandler imo and bring in Hibbert.
  23. Lou and Ilyasova will fight it out for the "contract you regret 2 years after you offer it" award.
