  1. He will without a doubt opt out, what he does after, well that's up in the air. If he wins a ring this year and next, maybe he ducks out.. definitely don't see him leaving if he is still ring-less though. Between the attention, the extra money (term-wise) and the flexibility, he would really be stupid not to opt out when he can, seeing as he will likely still be the best player in the league at that time and about 30 years old, getting what will probably be his last huge max contract.
  2. That is awesome news that Rocky is sticking around... he is going to definitely boost some careers by putting guys over; Punk and Ziggler come to mind for me.
  3. Crazy. Definitely thought he would be a Clipper. Feel like the Clipps are closer to a title than the Knicks are.
  4. This would be a pretty stupid trade for both teams in all honesty. I would imagine Kobe being livid if this deal went down. Good sim league/2k trade (for LA), not a good real life trade imo. Bad trade for the Wolves no matter how you slice it. You only make a move like this for Pau if it makes you a contender, which it doesn't.
  5. With Jonas coming over next year, and Bargnani not moving anytime soon (presumably), and us probably not getting Drummond or Davis, which guy do you think we should keep? http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=0&p1=davised01&y1=2012&p2=johnsam01&y2=2012 Ed is 22 but only in his 2nd year, whereas Amir is 24 in his 7th season now. Davis is also only in the 2nd year of his entry level contract where Amir is in the 2nd year of his 5 year deal paying him more than 5M per season on average. Davis showed nice upside last year averaging a really solid 8 points and 7 boards and 1 block in 24.6 minutes a night. Only problem is that it seems he has taken a step back this year, shooting .483 from the field (.576 last year) and going down in every other category. Per 36 Amir and Davis are almost identical, both around 10 and 10 players, the only difference is that Amir literally cannot play that many minutes because he averages almost 6 fouls per 36, where Ed averages 4, but Amir is the more efficient of the two this year. On the trade market though, you have to think Davis is the more valuable of the two, and their production is seemingly the same. This raises the question, do you try and move Davis along with other pieces in a package to fill a hole (point guard?) in the off-season, or do you hold onto him and hope he can become that Antonio Davis type of big man in Toronto (statistically), which would in all likelihood spell the end for Amir.
  6. 20 ppg over his last 7 games, including 25 vs Miami, 21 vs Boston and 29 vs the Spurs. Shooting .466 over that stretch, and around 5 free throws per game. Only taken 12 threes over that stretch, 6 if you minus that 4-6 game against Milwaukee. He is also averaging 2.6 APG, which obviously isn't good for a guard, but a step in the right direction for Demar. I literally haven't been able to watch a single one of those games between TSN being the only sports channel I get and school. But it looks like he is starting to get back on track. So what has changed in these past 7 games that has resulted in him looking like the Demar from the 2nd half of last year (statistically)?
  7. Nash & Carter (and Tyutin too, but who cares?) held out of practice today, probably not going to help the speculation around Nash, who I still doubt is dealt until the summer. Carter is a guy I seriously want the Leafs to make a push for. It's sounding like Kubina could be moved too. There are also some rumblings about a Kane for Miller deal between Buffalo and Chicago, which would be absolutely insane. I'd be shocked if that was much more than talk/speculation though, I don't know how you trade a guy like Patty Kane, or Ryan Miller for that matter. I don't know, just something to chew on I guess. I am hoping a big trade does go down in the coming days so we have something to talk about.
  8. BFT, what are your thoughts on Lamb? Haven't watched more than 2-3 college games this year but haven't been able to watch him at all (stupid cheap ass student housing cable). I like the sounds of him, but his assists numbers scare me, Derozan-esque almost, at 1.8 APG to 2.2 topg. Do you think he is an option for the Raps? Would he probably come in at the expense of Derozan, who I doubt he can be a 3 long-term. I just ask this because it seems like we aren't going to be in the Barnes, Davis or Drummond sweepstakes without some lottery luck, which we are definitely due for lol.
  9. I am excited to be home this week so I will have some free time from school and more than 1 sports channel so hopefully i can finally watch this kid play. I am reluctant to crown him an all-star after 6 NBA starts, and there are numerous other players who should be at all-star weekend before him.
  10. Too bad you couldn't give McGee a brain transplant. Even a player as stupid as Arenas would help. The fact he produces like he does, being as stupid as he is, really tells the whole story. He could be so much more impactful than he is. I realize he is an idiot, but a 7 footer with rim protecting potential who can jump out of the gym, I don't think I would be the only one reluctant to give him up in hopes that he eventually turns into a basketball player, but I get it, how long can you wait for him. So to answer your question, Wall and McGee probably, unless McGee was either A) getting huge RFA offers or B) someone offered me a decent piece for him. I'd probably keep Jan too, you drafted him top 5, so he is way more valuable to the Wizards than he is to any other team. Might as well hold onto him and hope he can be a good role playing 5th starter.. better than trading him for a 2nd round draft pick or something, because that is basically all he is worth right this minute. Blatche would be the absolute first guy I would try to get rid of. Dude is an absolute cancer imo (obviously I am no expert, don't watch the Wiz often).
  11. I don't want any part of Nash either if it is going to cost us Gardiner and multiple other pieces. Pretty overrated, I get he is skilled and without a doubt a first line winger, but I just don't think he is worth what the asking price is going to be. I also get that the fact he is still only 27 and has term remaining on his contract makes him more valuable, but that term is also near the top 5 in the league pay-wise, and I don't think going to a different team is going to all of a sudden make him produce at a top 10 player clip. I would love a Rick Nash on this team, don't get me wrong he is a really good player, but not worth clearing the cupboards for. Would rather just see us make a move for a cheaper Jeff Carter (who is also a hugely better fit), or swing for the homerun on on Ryan Getzlaf (who I would literally tell them take your pick of pieces to get a deal done, but I just don't think we have enough) or Bobby Ryan in the summer. If we are going to overpay for someone, Derek Roy is someone I would like to see the Leafs make a push for rather than someone like Nash.
  12. Your GM needs to make up his mind on what he is doing. If you're going to trade for Nash, why did you even move Richards (or Carter) in the first place? I realize they play different positions, but still, you're going to have to give up the same assets that you got for Richards in the first place. Not to mention Nash is one of the most overrated players in the entire NHL.
  13. The grass is always greener mentality of the NBA never ceases to amaze.
  14. I feel like that two teams are as independent of one another as any teams. If anything, Dwight is going to ease the Heat/LeBron hate, because he is being an absolute dickhead.
  15. He is in fine shape. I bet more NBA players aren't ripped than those who are. when he starts looking like Raymond Felton, well then we will have a problem

  17. Didn't read ya'll posts (some were pretty long winded/I am tired as hell) but my .02 is that Lambo is absolute waste of a roster space, he hardly brings anything to the table other than his random goals. Brick hands for the most part, so weak on the puck, not a great forechecker, though I will admit I like him as a penalty killer (at least in comparison to other guys often out there). Frattin was really coming into his own before he got sent down and I would have liked to have seen him up, but it makes sense he is the one to go down since he has a 2-way. Kadri should be up here, such a shame guys like Lambo have his spot for no reason other than they have been in the league longer. Lambo, Komi and Army (sad to say it) are basically cap killers at this point. 10M combined or so for guys who if we didn't have on our roster, we probably would be completely unaffected. It'd be nice if we could dump one or two of them, not like their terms are killers. We need to make room for guys like Frattin, Kadri, Colborne, etc because they aren't going to learn much more by being down there forever. Nice to see everyone getting it rolling though - Riems looks better, the Grabo line is getting clicking again thank God, Phil is getting back on track, everything is just clicking and our schedule isn't too tough currently, so hopefully we can take advantage. When our team plays like they are lately, we should definitely be in the playoffs, when we play like this we are heads above OTT/FLA imo. Excited for tonight, big game, hopefully we can nab it. Also IBN saying we are in on the Jeff Carter sweepstakes, obviously not a hugely credible source but I still wait for him to get one right lol. I honestly think the whole contract thing is hugely overblown (would you rather give a 28 year old Parise a 6 year 50M deal or something? He will be earning Gomez type money in his mid-30s, where Carter will make just over 5, how is that bad? If we could pick him up cheap, I think that would be an awesome pickup. Something like Colborne+Komi+first this year or something like that, maybe Connolly in there I don't know. I would be a huge fan of Carter here. He was awesome with Lupul in Philly, and I think Lups/Phil have shown they can set up and score, so I think Jeff could definitely fit in there. it was only 2 years ago this was almost a 50 goal scorer and an 80 point center.
  18. Dumbest player in the league hands down. Imagine if the kid even had half a brain? He'd be awesome.
  19. The fact Kobe thinks he can't (or won't) contribute significantly to a championship team averaging 18 or 19 points tells me all I need to know about him.
