  1. The whole pimping of the kids, if true, is absolutely disgusting. The entire story is despicable, just a sad time in sports right now.
  2. Why would you be upset with someone cheering for a team who will never win anything significant?
  3. I thought it was a well known fact Roy will never be 100% again?
  4. I know nothing about Euroball, or that team, but it seems Jonas is criminally underutilized there.
  5. Very tough game to watch. Seguin continues to have the Leafs' number. I stopped watching after it was 5-0 I think, just absolutely terrible.
  6. I would rather have an elite goalie and 1 elite defenseman than 2 elite defensemen and a bad goalie. Build from the net out as far as I am concerned. Also, isn't Weber an RFA still next summer? Suter is the biggest concern if I am Nashville, and he is the one I picture not winding up back in Nashville next year since I envision them being forced to choose between the two, but if they want to pay them 15M or so combined annually, they can probably get them both. It'll be interesting to say the least,
  7. Lupul and Gardiner for Beauch, thanks Anaheim.
  8. Jefferson shot .474 from the field and .440 from 3 last year. You won't find a better SF than Jefferson at a better price.
  9. I would use it on Green on the 5 year 45 million dollar deal they will inevitably give him.
  10. Raja Bell. Kind of makes sense, but I admitted on it that i am a bad defender which is odd, doesn't help I am usually left defending points because I am only around 6 feet, but definitely not quick enough to stay in front of them, especially laterally. My best quality is definitely my spot up shooting or pulling up on the break, not particularly good at getting my own shot though, but I will take care of a mismatch if I have one. I am more surprised that OTR is full of basketball superstars lol.
  11. God that game last night stung as bad as any in recent memory. It is the kind of game we really need to win, and kind of makes the win vs Pittsburgh moot. Gus has been okay, but we need Reimer back. We can't play good hockey when we aren't sure if our goalie will stop dump ins or not.
  12. This is great news. I agree he will wait until Jonas is coming over before making any big moves. I also think he will spend that time listening to offers for Andrea (or at least I hope). There is no point rushing things at this point, and I am glad BC recognizes this as well.
  13. Pretty sure players, especially young ones, don't want their contracts front loaded, and it is also against the rules to front load a contract like that, this isn't the joke of a league the MLB. It all depends on the new CBA and what other teams are offering. I think 4 years 30M is something I wouldn't be opposed to my team offering (even though we don't really need him).
  14. I don't know what it will take for Quick to win the fans and the organization over. He was solid all last year, and was especially stellar in the series vs San Jose last year in the playoffs in my opinion (I would know, I was loaded with SJ guys in my fantasy pool and he helped keep it close), he was taking over 38 shots a game on average. By no means do I think Quick is an elite goalie or a yearly vezina candidate, or the kind of guy who can single-handedly carry a team, but I think he is definitely a terrific goalie to build with moving forward, especially considering he is only 25 in his 3rd full season (his rookie year he only had 44 games but I guess you can count it, in which case this is his 4th).
  15. I think the problem is you associate yourself with idiots. Quit being ignorant, your topic obviously depends entirely on the circumstances.
  16. Jonas in net. Great, really not holding my breathe for a win tonight. Just hope we can at least play a good game tonight and not get blown out like in Boston.
  17. Going to ESPN was the NHL's real opportunity to cash in on the lockout. It doesn't matter how awesome hockey is, or the fact that their playoffs are > any other sports, as long as no one knows what is going on, and they have no coverage on ESPN (I assume, I live in Canada so...) it isn't going to have a huge impact. NHL attendance ratings, I believe, are already pretty close to on par with the NBA's. Viewership is where they struggle, and as long as they're on versus I don't see it changing. I think what hurts the NHL the most, is that the best players (forwards mostly) are only on the ice 1/3 of the game, while in the NBA and other sports, the most marketable players, or the draws for fans, are in the game almost the entire time.
  18. The Habs hosed themselves (so many bad/dumb penalties). Besides, we would have had a draw in your end, and that is arguably as good, if not better of an opportunity for us to score. You probably wouldn't have even been in the game if Gionta didn't behead our goalie.
  19. A polished McGee sounds good enough to me. Then a Joe Johnson type of wing player, just a good solid all around wing in the coming draft would be nice.
  20. And that's the thread ladies and gentlemen.
