  1. Yeah, he acted his heart out there, but no way he retires now, at least not behind the scenes, but if this the retirement of Vince's on screen character, well, it's been a blast, and that's putting it lightly. But that definitely saved the show, big time.
  2. Definitely the 2nd one. No way Vince writes out a belt this way, it'd be an absolute waste. He'd have the 2 champs fight to merge them, like jericho did, then mentioned for the next 10 years in his promos. Vince wouldn't let Bret, his prized possession back in the mid 90's, walk away with the belt, but he is going to let Punk?
  3. Best PPV of the Cena era? Probable. Best PPV in the past decade? C'mon now.
  4. Why would Cena turn heel? It's more likely that Punk, or someone puts him out of action. He is apparently pretty banged up, so maybe they make a super stable with Vince, Punk, etc to run RAW until super cena can come back a few months from now and save the day <_< I just don't how they turn Cena heel here. Punk is the heel, even though he will get face reactions in his home town. Unless they manage to do a double turn, which would be amazing.
  5. That Gay contract could wind up being a cap killer depending what happens with the CBA. Z-Bo too. Can someone tell me what happened to make Memphis so willing to spend compared to back in the day?
  6. I usually just use soccertvlive.net I use that for everything I watch online now actually.
  7. I think they can play wherever they want can't they? It is all just a matter of insurance. I mean if they aren't getting paid by their NBA team, they should have the right to earn a paycheck somewhere else.
  8. Since I've been a fan there have not really been any painful losses as we have mainly sucked. It hurt losing to NJ a few years back when we were the 3 seed, but deep down I think we all knew that the Nets were better especially with Vince in New Jersey with Kidd and RJ. But the VC shot against PHI stings me even though I wasn't a fan at the time, just thinking how different everything might be in Toronto today for the Raptors if that shot goes down and we maybe go on to the finals instead of Philly (even though we would have got dummied by LA), it just would have been huge for basketball here I think. But I wasn't there when it happened, if that kind of shot happened these days I'd probably be pretty sad lol. But unfortunately since I have followed sports closely enough for losses to hurt, all Toronto teams have basically sucked, or had no high expectations for me to be let down. I guess the Leafs losing in the 2nd round against Philly in 03-04 sucked because the Leafs were so decent that year getting over 100 points, but Philly had more anyways, plus I was like 13 so I didn't really give a shit lol.
  9. I honestly don't think it will matter. The cream will rise to the top regardless of a 40 or 82 game season.
  10. I go with Jonas at this pick. Who cares about the lockout, and now we have even seen him dominate the U19 and more and more people seem to be getting on the bandwagon. If you don't take Jonas, you stick with Kanter, but call me biased, I am going with Jonas at 3.
  11. WWE Championship If Cena loses, he's fired; Punk promises to leave regardless John Cena © vs. CM Punk (I really hope I am wrong though, but Punk has laid down for everyone before so what changes now?) World Heavyweight Championship Randy Orton © vs. Christian The Big Show vs. Mark Henry WWE Divas Title Kelly Kelly © vs. Brie Bella Raw MITB Ladder Match Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. R-Truth vs. Evan Bourne vs. Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz vs. Jack Swagger vs. Alex Riley (ADR will probably win it even though he sucks, and Kofi is way more over than anyone there besides Rey, who doesn't need it) Smackdown MITB Ladder Match Kane vs. Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett vs. Justin Gabriel vs. Heath Slater vs. Sin Cara vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Cody Rhodes (What a shitty match, hopefully Ziggler can somehow get into it to save it and win it, but either Sheamus or Barrett win, maybe Rhodes but he just screams midcard to me. Sheamus is kind of past MITB, so Barrett makes most sense) Bonus Questions: Will CM Punk leave as he promised, no matter the outcome? (Meh, I hope not and hope this is just an angle, but really I think he is leaving, or taking a break, hope I am wrong though) Will Vince McMahon play a part in the WWE Title match? (Probably, wouldn't be surprised if he walked down with ADR or a MITB winner after Punk wins to get the title to stay in the WWE like he has feared it won't) Will the MITB contract be cashed in during the show? If so, who and for what title? (No, but if it is it will be ADR, or Ziggler if he can somehow get involved) Which match will last the longest? (Hopefully Cena vs Punk, give them 25-30 minutes to tell a story, have some swerves in there and give us the match of the year like it deserves based on it's build up)
  12. I didn't think this was very good at all, though given the circumstances (being alone in a jungle or whatever with just a camera and yourself) I guess it was okay. And in regards to RD's post, at this point I definitely think CM Punk > Rock easily on the mic. Rock just gets cheap pops with his catch phrases and calling people names. Punk has been amazing lately, amazing. EDIT: This is coming from a huge Rock fan.
  13. Punk has been amazing lately, this is the most compelling storyline since Nexus, but hopefully they don't drop the ball on this one like they did so badly with Nexus originally. This is the first PPV I have ever considered buying, since like 2001 lol, but at that point my parents would be buying it. For the record, I probably won't, because for 1 60+ dollars is outrageous for a 3 hour event that really I only care about probably less than an hour of content, and 2 because the WWE always finds a way to let me down. I will definitely be watching online though, hoping Ziggler wins the MITB too, we need some swerves, make this shit exciting again.
  14. I think JV is going to struggle defensively at first positionally, mainly because of his strength, unless he puts on more muscle in the next year than I expect him to. He seems to get in quite a bit of foul trouble, but he has great length and seems to have good instincts defensively. I think his deficiencies defensively are more a result of his frame right now, and being outmuscled liked you said, rather than disinterest and lack of instincts like someone like Kanter, for example. He looks like a future guy who can protect the rim for us and man the boards. But yeah, positionally I think he might have issues early on. He seems to want to get better, and dominated inferior competition in the U19 tournament, so I have high hopes for this kid now, and if this tourney happened before the draft, no chance he falls past Cleveland, and he might even go a bit higher. But I'll wait to let BFT weigh in, he definitely is more educated on Val (I think), I have definitely been slacking since the lockout started Also, maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I think the drafting of JV might be leading to use showing Bargs the door. I agree that is a definite concern, but I see JV being the best rim protector we've had in a very long time. JV and Ed Davis as the starting bigs honestly makes me very excited, two very competent defensive players who can protect the rim, nice change of pace.
  15. D-Will if you can't trade the pick like the Wolves apparently couldn't. You take the best player available in the top 5, period.
  16. I don't understand how you really "overpay" a player like Stamkos. If you have to overpay to keep Giroux/Van Riemsdyk then that's the cost of doing business, or you let em walk and take the picks. If you can get or have a chance to get Stamkos, you do it, simple. All this niceties bullshit is stupid, this is a competition. Numerous teams should have submitted offer sheets by now as far as I am concerned. It pisses me off Burke hasn't made an offer. Just like it pisses me off that he gave 2 firsts for Kessel based on principle, when he didn't have to.
  17. I honestly don't see any. But to be fair, I also didn't see any way LA could get a 2nd all-star to play with Kobe and keep him in town, yet that still managed to happen. Maybe they can deal Orton, a big expiring and a couple late firsts for something lol.
  18. Can someone email these stats, as well as the hundreds of others showing Bargs' uselessness to BC.
  19. You act as if something better is available. Lopez was a borderline all-star big the season before last.
  20. He owes it to himself and the organization to ask to be dealt for some shit to help the Suns rebuild/along with some of the shit contracts on the team. The team also owes it to him to give him a shot to win a title.
  21. Wouldn't you be pissed if you got drafted by a team you never even worked out for (because you were supposed to be top 5), not to mention the organization clearly has no idea what they are doing right now.
  22. Just gives me more time to dedicate to the NHL now. Maybe if we can get some interest here we can expand that shit since that might be the only professional sport playing 6 months from now lol. More NCAA discussion too. The NBA sounds further on a deal than the NHL was. 22 teams are losing money, and it seems like the players don't understand this. The owners don't sound like they are budging either, but it's still early. Like it or not, there will be some shape or form of a hard cap in the NBA for the next season, and contracts will be rolled back. 22 teams are going to be fine just sitting and waiting, the current system clearly isn't working in terms of parity of success, or financially for the league as a whole.
  23. Burkie is putting in work so far and I am liking it. I've always been kind of a fan of Connolly, clearly not the player he was around 06, but I still think he is a very good stop gap until Colborne and Kadri are ready. Hopefully we can get 65 games or so out of him and that will be a success. Then, we get Cody Franson for absolute peanuts. I like what I am hearing about him and his upside if he can learn to use his body, and I don't know the situation with Lombardi and his injury but he could be a contributor if he can get on the ice too, maybe. He was a 50+ point player the last time he played a full year, so he can definitely contribute if he can move past the injury. If anyone else could give insight on the deals I'd appreciate it. Gotta admit I've been following the NBA way more than the NHL the last few years, but with the NBA missing a year gonna try and focus on the NHL as a whole beyond just the Maple Laughs.
