  1. Miami Herald Good news, IMO. Hopefully this will give more room for Dorell to gain playing time and develop. I wonder what the Heat can get out of him. Draft picks, maybe?
  2. I think having Redd back will be a big help on offense. Although Ilyasova, Charlie, and Delfino have all been doing a good job knocking down their shots, I think having Redd back will give a legit outside presence that will space things out even more for Jennings, and give him another option on those high key pick n rolls with Bogut. Hopefully good defense from the rest of the team can help Redd pick up his game on that end of the court as well. Jennings is proving to be a franchise player that you can build around. Having Bogut and Redd back, it will benefit both their game and Jennings. As long as the Bucks continue to play good defense and out-rebound their opponents, with Redd and Bogut's return, they should remain on pace for a 7th seed or even a 6th seed spot in the playoffs.
  3. I'm going to feel bad for the team that falls as their first victim.
  4. I'm willing to fill in for the Heat if you need me.
  5. Although Rose appears to be their future, currently I'd say it's Luol Deng. Joakim Noah is a close second or third, it really sounds like he's doing well this year.
  6. I used to believe it was real a couple years ago.. but an open mind and extra research showed that it's still way too questionable. It's going to take some real evidence for me believe it's real, and false, exaggerated data plus these environmental scare tactics aren't very convincing.
  7. I'll take Rick Adelman's word over McGrady's. Rick has coached a team full of role players to a winning record to start the season. I think he knows what's best. If they were losing, then I would say that they should go ahead and play T-Mac. As long as they are staying successful, I think McGrady needs to be patient and produce for his team when called upon. Bringing him back too quickly and forcing him into the offense will disrupt the chemistry as his teammates will try to adjust to his presence on the floor. His effort on defense won't exactly be a huge plus, either. He needs to understand that what he thinks is best for himself isn't always what's best for the team. Instead of whining and begging for attention, he should prove he's worthy of playing time through his actions. Work hard and show the coach how playing you will be beneficial to the team. Clearly winning isn't of the utmost importance to him.
  8. There should be a member video section of this site outside of the forums themselves with individual sections for people who make quality videos like this regularly. Just a thought. By the way, great job on the video, +1.
  9. Are Haslem, Wallace, and Rodman all undersized for their position? Then, yes, they are somewhat comparable. I'm just saying that size doesn't always determine the impact of a player. Chuck Hayes is a 6-6 Center and massively undersized for his position, yet the Rockets still have a winning record with him in their starting line up over 6-11 David Andersen. Haslem doesn't always necessarily make a huge impact with his scoring simply because he doesn't get that many touches and doesn't put up that many shots per game. The guy is a 50% shooter for his career, plus taking the majority of his shots from midrange. I wouldn't say scoring comes easily for him, this is the NBA after all, but he has enough in his arsenal of offensive abilities to put up a higher amount of points each game if given the chance. A good example of a player who has a good offensive game yet never had a true chance to show it, until now, is Luis Scola. With Yao's absence, he's become the Rocket's main threat in the post. His career average is 11 ppg, and now he's averaging 15 this year with the same shooting percentage. Watch as that average will continue to increase as he gets more comfortable into his role as a higher scoring option. By the way, Haslem is just about never "non-existent" in games. Plus, this "Heart" thing is just an abstract idea. The guy busts his butt night-in and night-out and does everything he needs to do to help the team get a win, even if it doesn't always show up on the stat sheet. The dude is extremely flexible and is the ultimate team player. He's always been willing to take a step back with his scoring to be that "hustle guy", plus this year he's even willing enough to come off the bench so the Heat can try and develop Michael Beasley. Since Haslem works so hard and is so solid at everything he does on the court, he's finished every game he's played for the Heat this year, and has made some huge baskets in the clutch that basically won a few games for the Heat this year, including a game winner last night against the Hornets, which makes the Heat 8-3 with Haslem in the line up, and 0-2 with him out.
  10. I don't watch the Hornets all that much, but from what I've seen, CP3 likes to dominate the ball on offense. He runs everything, and he'll basically hold the ball until either he finds an open look for his own shot, or he finds an open teammate for the assist. With him out, the playmaking is more spread out, which probably makes the offense more fluid.
  11. I'll be pissed if Haslem doesn't win Sixth man of the year. And David West... I don't know what he was thinking at the end of that game. What a terrible decision, if I was the coach I would have called time out the moment he was sitting at the top of key telling everyone to clear out.
  12. I have a hunch that Haslem could be leaving the Heat after this year. I think there is a chance that he could leave for either more money, or a chance to showcase what he can do when given the green light to score. Plus the Heat are having a hard time fitting in minutes for both Beasley and Haslem, and Beasley is the future of this team. Haslem has always been the guy who does all of the non-stat "dirty work", plus rebounding and scoring off of role playing situations. I'm willing to bet, though, if given more room by coaches to be more aggressive on offense, with more touches, plays, and isolations set up for him, he can score 18 points or more per night. He has more than enough weapons in his offensive game to do it. Also, saying that this guy is undersized is hardly an argument for skill level and impact to the game. Ben Wallace and Dennis Rodman are two big examples.
  13. I didn't watch the game.. though I think the reason for Jermaine's poor play has been injuries, again, but for different reasons. He started off the season well, then a couple games later he broke his nose, which made him play more timid mostly with his rebounding and attacking the basket. Then he sat out of a game because of a hip injury. I'm not sure exactly what his status is with his injuries at this point, but I think that could be the main reason for his poor play recently. Also, there were only 2 big men who came off the bench for Miami against Toronto. Joel Anthony, who plays very well defensively, and has always been the guy who subs in for O'Neal, and starts whenever he can't play. And Shavlik Randolph, who signed with the Heat as the 3rd string PF. 2 lesser names, one of which gets consistent playing time on a nightly basis, I would hardly call "a bunch of no names". It is true that Wade is missing the one true second guy. Jermaine is fragile and never seems to find a way to remain healthy. Beasley is still young and developing. Haslem can score 20 when called upon to, but they need him for the dirty work. Chalmers is pretty solid in his role, though there is no way he'll be getting those 30 nightly... yet. Hopefully Beasley can develop into the 20 and 10 player that he was set out to be, and soon, and hopefully the Heat can land a good free agent who can create as well to really take a good portion of the load off of Wade's shoulders.
  14. lmao? UD has a higher efficiency rating than J.R., and I can tell you he's much more important to the Heat than J.R. is to the Nuggets. The Heat have been 0-2 with Haslem sitting out. The Nuggets have been 2-2 WITH J.R. playing.
  15. Aww... looks like Tracy just wants a little attention
  16. A lot of his open looks came from screens from Bogut. If anything, I would expect that his scoring production could actually decrease in Bogut's absence. He might still manage, though, so we'll see.
  17. Seeing that the Knicks can't get much worse, and don't exactly have a core to build around, or anything to look forward to besides free agency this summer... signing AI could be worth a try.
  18. It's hard for me to call Jermaine the clear cut second best, either. He's been very inconsistent when it comes to scoring the ball, although his rebounding is at about what I expected it to be. I think it has mostly to do with the Heat as a team, though, and finding ways to get him more involved. He has been shooting a high percentage, so I think it has a lot to do with the number of touches he's been getting in each game.
  19. He's still only 20 years old and has plenty of room left to develop. He may not have broken out right away as some have expected, but I think we'll start to at least see some steady improvement as the year goes on. Comparing his start from this year from last, he's already shown improvement. He's had three 20-point games in his first 11 games this season. Last year he didn't get his third 20 point game until his 17th game, nor did he get his first double-double until January. He still hasn't completely become a fluid part of the offense, but I think with time he'll start to find his spots on the court and figure out where and when are his best scoring opportunities, which is probably a reason why he's been in the starting line up. Hopefully the coaching staff will help him learn when to shoot, when to attack, and when to keep the ball moving.
  20. Wow, this is crazy. Anyone know what the longest losing streak to start off a season is? If the Nets haven't already made that record, then they should be close to challenging it. Think they'll finally pull off a win against New York this Saturday? So what exactly caused such a poor start? Coaching? Lack of talent or experience? Injuries? A mixture of all three, perhaps? Or maybe the Nets actually trying to lose for a high draft pick? Discuss.
  21. You kidding me!? DJ MBenga > Dwight Howard
