  1. Man, I agreed with almost everything this dude said, especially on the bit about the Magic. Great stuff. I think the Heat will be way better than this dude thinks, though.
  2. From the first two quotes, it just sounds like there is just a bad situation going on. Whether Jackson is the main cause of the problem still isn't clear. It could be the coaching staff and the organization that is causing Jackson to act this way. It's not too uncommon for players to demand a trade when they don't feel treated right. Kobe demanded a trade when he was stuck playing with Smush and Kwame. At the time, Kobe also had a bad image from the media for being selfish and having a big ego. After getting Pau, his legendary coach back, and the pieces he needed to be a contender once again, his bad image seemed to vanish as LA started becoming a dominant team once again. I'm sure once Jackson is on a winning squad and is in a comfortable situation, his image would change as well. I could be wrong, though. The third, from an outsider's perspective, shows him not being able to handle his emotions. I doubt calling him "young fellah" can truly make the guy flip out like that, but who knows, maybe he really is THAT sensitive. So far, I still don't see any evidence to show that Jackson's so called 'bad leadership' is truly behind the Warrior's problems. What we see and hear might just be his reaction from what is going on behind the scenes.
  3. I wouldn't say it's impossible. I'm sure scientists can study the bone structure in each human ancestor for every 1 thousand years up to 100k years ago or so and figure out a trend to where they can figure out how we might look in the future, whatever the slight differences might be.
  4. I wonder how we'll look in another 20k years.. I guess we'll never know, unless some scientist genius figures it out before I'm dead.
  5. ^ From what I've seen in the preseason, the Magic line up looks to be: Nelson - Carter - Lewis - Anderson - Howard.
  6. Andersen seems to have a good chance at starting, though. The Heat's line up looks good at this point. Rio, Wade, UD, and JO are definite starters, Beasley could have the highest chance of starting at the 3 by now, but there has been no final decision made, yet. Don't be surprised to see James Jones taking the starting position by the regular season. Q-Rich and even Dorell may also still have a chance, so nothing is certain.
  7. The way I see it, just because it isn't always Miller getting the assist, doesn't decrease the chance of the team getting the basket in each possession. You're right, though. Miller is a floor general, and his lack of 3 point shooting ability makes him less valuable playing off the ball. This is why Blake starts and Andre comes off the bench. Blake opens things up for Roy, and Andre runs the offense for the bench line up. Miller doesn't like this role, and said that he wouldn't have signed in the first place if he had known. For his sake, he'd be better off traded.
  8. Roy said himself that Andre hasn't been ball dominant. He lets Roy bring the ball up on certain possessions the same way Blake did.
  9. Heh.. Miller wants to start. Him and some other players who may feel the same need to just accept their roles whether they agree with it or not, and just produce... just play.
  10. The only fastfood place I ever go to is Subway. Other than that, just about never. The only times are when my bball team goes on road trips, they just about always go to fastfood joints. But that's about it for me.
  11. I'm not sure what to really think of Stephen. Tim Duncan said that he was the best teammate he ever had, so he can't be all that bad. I could be wrong, but his bad rep seems to be more of an image created by the media than anything else. I don't hear much from his teammates or his coaches. It could just be that he's caught up in a bad situation, and since he's the captain, he's in the middle, and anything he says gets escalated to a bigger deal than it probably is. I don't follow the Warriors all too much, though. All I can tell is that they seem to have a pretty nice set up of talent clumped together by what seems to be a terrible coach.
  12. Jermaine O'Neal Expects to 'Dominate' LINK I said it before and I'll say it again: 18 and 8 this year, baby.
  13. I miss his Marshall Mathers LP days. It was the only rap album I ever actually liked. He has steadily gotten worse since he started his stage act.
  14. Ok, so if I absolutely had to choose one player to have an injury in the Heat's roster, and it had to be a starter, it would be.... hmmm.. this is tough. It's vital for Beasley and Chalmers to remain healthy for their development, Haslem is a great locker room presence and he brings energy to the team through his hustle and leadership, Jermaine's low post presence is missed greatly when he's injured, and Dwyane Wade is obviously the last guy any Heat fan would wish an injury on. It really would depend on how long the injury is, and for what part of the season. If it's a short injury somewhere in the beginning of the season, I would actually say Dwyane Wade. It would help develop the young guys and may give the team confidence if they manage to win some games without their best player. They actually missed him once last season, and the rest of the team stepped up their performance brought the Celtics into OT (although they were also missing key players in Ray Allen and KG). If it had to be a playoff injury, it would be Chalmers. Wade could move to the point and Cook or Q-Rich could step it up at the wing. Either that, or Quinn could step up at the point. It would probably depend on match ups. Either way, I still think the Heat can manage to earn a good seed in the playoffs without Rio, although he would definitely be missed. If it had to be a season-long injury, it's a tough choice, but I'd think I'll have to go with Udonis. Beasley would be able to move to his natural position, and one of the Heat's many SFs, most likely Jones, can fill in at the 3. If it is a career-ending injury, it's got to be Jermaine. Even though it would hurt the Heat for this season, his over-inflated contract expires this season, and he's likely to be replaced whether he gets injured or not.
  15. It's not just the celebrations, it the fact that NOTHING HAPPENED. It went directly from the championship game, to the next game of the next season on your new team (with my dude now looking like a total freak >.>). The Insider could at least acknowledge that it's the end of the season, and you could at least go through some sort of off season training, and get offers over a period of time, or something of the sort. Instead, nothing happens accept my dude looks freaking awful now, and it's pathetic as hell.
  16. Nobody. If anything, I wish the whole team will be perfectly healthy throughout the season.
  17. The Heat lost the previous series against the Hawks because JO was out and Wade ran out of steam. Chalmers, Cook, and Beasley were all struggling that series for the most part, mainly because they were young and inexperienced, and they just didn't appear ready. The only solid players were Wade, Haslem, and O'Neal (for three games), and Jones was hitting shots. This year, the Heat have improved simply by not making any moves (other than the chemistry-building move of throwing away Blount for Q-Rich) and allowing the young players to add to their game. Chalmers is expected to rise greatly this year, Cook will be more consistent while adding more weapons to his offensive game, and Joel will continue to be solid and has perhaps improved his offensive abilities as well. To me, Beasley is the biggest question. There are many concerns around him, including being a ball-stopper on offense and a defensive liability on both forward positions. I still think he should actually be coming off the bench, and play sort of like Odom's role to the Lakers and bring offense, rebounding, and energy off the bench. If Dorell or Jones start at SF, I think the Heat can be a top 3 or 4 team. If Beasley starts, taking the time to develop him this way for this season may hurt the team's record and put them down a couple more seeds, but perhaps be more beneficial for future seasons if extra on court experience can help him learn to be a more fluid part of the offense and be just as versatile on both ends of the court. Quinn isn't nearly as bad as people think, at least on the offensive end, and I still think Dorell can find his potential given consistent playing time. BTW, I change my mind about the Magic. I didn't realize their plan to start Ryan Anderson at the 4. That changes a lot. Carter isn't his old self, and I don't know a whole lot about Ryan's ability to play defense (although Howard's presence can make up for that). They can still battle it out to maybe get 3rd seed.
  18. I think it would take a strong minded coach like Phil Jackson to make this have any chance of working.
  19. I grew up in a religious school, bud. I know everything I need to about your God. And I love how Christians always have to tell people that they're going to pray.. really proves how well it works.
  20. I'm just going to throw this out there. Christians keep claiming that because we don't have a definite answer on how things were created, then it must have been done by a God. So let me ask you this: If everything must have a creator, and God is the creator of all things, then who/what created God?
  21. Well.. I beat the Nuggets 4-0 and brought the Heat a championship. I'm not happy, though. The ending was freaking pathetic. Nothing happened. After the game was over, it just went back to the same screen as always with the insider telling you how you played as always, and nothing happened. I pressed "play next game" to see what would happen. It said "simulating..." for a good 30 seconds, then asked me which team I would like to play for. It gave me an option to join 4 different teams, including "stay on bobcats" (wtf?). I pressed bobcats since that was my preferred team out of the 4 choices, and then I see my dudes face.... WTF. My dude looks like he went and got plastic surgery over the off season. I mean, WOW. He turned from a normal white kid into a big nosed asian with distorted eye brows... wow, wtf.. The game already autosaved, so there is no fixing it. Is there anything I can do about this?
  22. For me, I'm not going to restart until the patch comes out. I still have a defensive SF I made in the draft combine that I haven't used yet. I'll restart on that when I know all the problems are fixed.
  23. You can't change it.. yet. Hopefully you can after the patch. For now, you can only adjust it before you even start. In the main game you adjust and save the minutes in your settings to 12 minutes, and AFTER you begin your my player mode from the start, and it will be stuck on 12 minute quarters. Its weird, I wish I had known this before starting with my PG.
