  1. I don't like the Killers all that much because they don't make great whole albums. In each album, they make a few winners, and the rest are extremely bland, uninteresting, and are as good as fillers, IMO. They have some great songs in Mr Brightside, All These Things..., When You Were Young, and A Dustland Fairytale, among others, but they have yet to make a complete album where I can just sit back and listen from first track to the last without skipping any songs.
  2. I don't see any reason why the Heat can't pull it off, unless there are key injuries, of course.
  3. It's good to see Beasley gaining some versatility. He has done a lot of point guard drills over the summer to help his transition to the wing position. I figured that James was going to be at the top of the depth chart at SF, but I suppose he'll be coming off the bench instead. It'll be interesting to see who wins the battle for minutes at the wing positions between James, Yahkouba, Daequan, Dorell, Beasley, and Quentin. I guess Beas will start, and JJ will come off the bench for him. Daequan and Quentin will probably get time at SG depending on who's hot at 3. As for Dorell, I wouldn't be surprised to see him as an oversized back-up PG. He has the handles and court vision to do it, and enough quickness to defend the position as well. It would be a good way to add size to the Heat's line up, plus both he and Q-Rich have a great friendship with D-Wade, it would be interesting to see the chemistry of having those 3 on the court together.
  4. I don't know much about this guy, but it doesn't sound like the Jazz have much of a loss if C.J. misses a few games, especially with other wing players to fill his void like Ronnie, Kyle, AK47, and Matt (if healthy).
  5. I like what this organization has done. It won't be too long before they start looking like a championship squad.
  6. If their main players stay healthy, I believe they have what it takes to get in at the 8th seed.
  7. Maybe PS3 has all that Blue Ray stuff, but, personally, I like the 360 games better and the controller much better. I used to own a PS2 for about a year or two before ever owning an xbox. I thought it was OK, better than my nintendo 64, but after switching to xbox, I couldn't help but notice how much better the games were. The original xbox controller wasn't much to my liking, though, and neither was the playstation 2 controller. The 360 controller has been much better for me to use, and I still enjoy the RPGs and shooters that only come for this console. If PS3 got the same games as xbox, their controllers become more comfortable to use, and all of my friends switched to PS3, then maybe I would get one two. As of right now, I've had no problem with my 360. I've even straight up dropped the [expletive] on the floor and it still worked just fine, lol. The only thing I can't stand about the xbox is their online system. Gears of War and Halo have that stupid hosting system (where bullets come out at least a half-second later, which can create a huge difference in games), and NBA 2k just has a [expletive]ty server all together (games dropped out of nowhere, can't start games, server goes down randomly, etc. etc). Sometimes people just have trouble connecting with each other, even for private chats. If PS3 has a super smooth online system, I might consider switching, and maybe I can get used to their terrible controllers and find a few exclusive games that I might actually enjoy.
  8. Just because the Heat didn't go after stars or make drastic trades doesn't mean they didn't get better. They made all the improvements right with the team that they have now. Trust me, the Heat are a lot better than people think.
  9. Year You Became a Fan: 2004 Why You Became a Fan: Back when I lived in Caly, I used to be a bit of a Lakers fan. I never really watched basketball all that much at the time. I moved to Florida for family reasons and I heard that Shaq moved from L.A. to the Heat. I started watching a few Heat games on the local channel and soon after I fell in love with the team. Been a fan ever since. Favorite Heat Player, All-Time: Dorell Wright. I've loved this guy's game ever since I first saw him play. His abilities are very underrated even by his own team. I hope that this year he will finally get the minutes he deserves. If ever given the PT, he could potentially become a top 10 SF in the league. Next on my list of faves I'd say is Udonis Haslem, Dwyane Wade, then Daequan Cook. Favorite Heat Coach, All-Time: A tie between Eric Spoelstra and Pat Riley. Favorite Heat Moment: When Wade threw the ball in the air to capture the moment of finally winning the NBA Championship. Amount of Heat Games Attended: About 5 or 6.
  10. Sure thing I'll see if I can get it and play it on the day it comes out (Tuesday). I'll let you know what I think.
  11. Because Ron and Allen are in two completely different situations. Iverson is counted on for being sort of a role model to the young guys, while Ron Artest has a smaller role of filling the void for Ariza. In Ron's case, there are more reasons to believe he's going to change his ways than just from his word. There are many differences between his situation in Houston and LA. In Houston he was much more counted on for being a scoring option in the absence of T-Mac and Yao, while in LA he has a player that has already established himself as possibly the best player of the decade plus a current top 3 power forward. Also, in LA, by salary alone Phil and Kobe both have a lot more influence over Ron, plus Ron isn't needed as much in LA as he was in Houston and Sacramento. If Luke Walton or Lamar Odom was to start at the 3, LA would STILL be a contender. Iverson, on the other hand, is expected to be The Answer in bringing Memphis a playoff spot this year, so there is no guarantee in how AI is going to handle it. If you are rooting for the Grizzlies, you can only hope that he will stay true to his word.
  12. It's inevitable. Ron is born to chuck. There's nothing we can do for him now..
  13. It's weird how they didn't release it there. It's not like they would have to go through any trouble of changing languages. Strange..
  14. I disagree. Wade is staying with the Heat. I am 99% sure . BTW, I predicted in another thread that the Bulls will make the 6th seed, and that the Heat will make the 3rd seed. Wade already has a good young squad around him full of close friends (Dorell, Quentin, Udonis, Jermaine), some he knew before even becoming pro. He has every reason to be happy in Miami, and after a 10+ win improvement this season to follow last year's 28 win improvement, I doubt he'll be going anywhere
  15. Good stuff. I agree, I believe somewhere between 4-6 seed sounds reasonable for their success this year. I have doubts whether or not they will make it to the second round this year, but we'll see.
  16. It sounds like he's got the right mindset coming into this league. He'll be a good player.
  17. Yea, he was looking much more fluid towards the end of that video. I think it would be safer for him to sit out for the beginning of the season and not risk a further injury.
  18. Predictions for the 09-10 Season Players to lead the league in... Points: Danny Granger, Kevin Durant, LeBron James Rebounds: Dwight Howard, Andris Biedrins, Kevin Love Assists: Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Jose Calderon Steals: Chris Paul, Mario Chalmers, Rajon Rondo Blocks: Dwight Howard, Jermaine O'Neal, Chris Andersen 3 Sophomores to watch for... Player Name:Anthony Randolph Player Name:Danilo Galinari Player Name:Robin Lopez 3 Players to watch for... Player Name:Dorell Wright Player Name:Yi Jianlian Player Name:Roy Hibbert 3 Teams to watch for... Team:Miami Heat Team:Toronto Raptors Team:Chicago Bulls
  19. The only reason the AI's defense is less responsive and a higher percentage of shots go in is because of the mode the demo is set to. From playing 2k games regularly the past few years, i can tell the difficulty is clearly not in it's maximum. When you get the full game, during or before gameplay set the game to the highest difficulty setting, and then try the same 5 foot shots.
  20. Because people have this idea that the rich have everything given to them, and that they don't need that money, so they need to take it away.
  21. Stan Van Gundy is actually a pretty damn good coach, I think. He gets a bad rap for falling apart under pressure, but he knows how to get the team in position to win games.
