He left his man, Steve Blake, wide open on numerous occasions. He played well offensively, though, but he was playing more as an off-guard. Chalmers is becoming more and more seldom trusted to run the offense, usually playing with either Arroyo or Wade on the floor with him to handle the ball while he spots up on the wing.

It would change the playoff game an awful lot. Every second of every game would count. No more garbage time. I don't think it's necessary, but it would be interesting to see how well this would work.

Thanks for the win. That is all.

Some minor mistakes in the information on some of the Heat players. According to ESPN, Michael Beasley has grown to 6-10 now, Dorell Wright is 6-9 and 210 lbs, Jermaine O'Neal is 255 lbs, and Dwyane Wade is 220 lbs. I know it's nitpicking, but I just thought I'd point those out. Edit: Oh yea, and according to http://hoopshype.com/salaries/miami.htm, Wade and Richardson have the wrong salary.

Common Heat, win this game. I don't care how, just win when you're [expletive]ing supposed to.

...what do the Heat do? A popular discussion this year has been about the free agency, and the exciting possibilities of having D-Wade return with another superstar. On the flip side, as confident as I am that Wade will be staying after this summer, there is still that small possibility. As much as we might hate to think about it, there is always that worst case scenario that we can't ignore. What's the back up plan? First, let's take a look at who we know for sure is staying. Michael Beasley and Daequan Cook both have guaranteed contracts. Chalmers is a cheap pick up for a team option for under a million, and James Jones is way over-priced at 4M for his team option. Joel Anthony is a restricted free agent, and there are also last year's second round picks PG/SG Patrick Beverly and SF Robert Dozier who are currently being developed in the Euroleague, though I'm not sure if they have guaranteed contracts or team options. If team options are picked up without signings and draft picks, the remaining line up stands as: PG Mario Chalmers SG Daequan Cook SF James Jones PF Michael Beasley C Joel Anthony Bench Patrick Beverly Robert Dozier That kind of reminds me of the good ole days, when the Heat had a year of this legendary line up. So, considering the worst of the worst of Wade leaving Miami, which would take elite FA possibilities with him, what's plan B? With their two first rounders (I believe they are somewhere between 15th and 20th?), who do they draft? Although the elites like LeBron, Bosh, and Amare may become unavailable without Wade, the Heat do still have a legit amount of money to throw at a few of the many other talents this summer. So who should they go after that would still have a realistic chance of signing? So, to sum up my question briefly it pretty much goes back to the thread title - what the heck do the Heat do if Wade leaves?

The choice between Pau and Duncan was tough, but I chose Tim for several reasons. First of all, he's putting up similar numbers in less minutes, with a better EFF and PER. Also, despite being a higher option on offense, Tim Duncan has a similar true shooting percentage, and the same effective field goal percentage as Pau Gasol. Lastly, Tim Duncan is able to handle leading what is currently a .600 team, while Gasol was never truly able to handle being the first option for a team to realistically contend. Pau is a second tier guy while Duncan, even at his age and decline in minutes and numbers, is still the leader of his team for another strong season.

Air Rondo started one for the PGs, SGs, and SFs, and I thought it created some good discussion. He stopped short of the last two positions for whatever reason, so I'm picking up where he left off. My list: 1. Dirk Nowitzki 2. Chris Bosh 3. Tim Duncan 4. Pau Gasol 5. Amar'e Stoudemire Edit: Decided to put Amar'e in that 5th spot over David Lee.

I didn't like the way the game looked from the start. Oh well, at least it was a close one. Hopefully the Heat will take advantage of their upcoming home stretch.

Miami is starting to miss their shots, yet Charlotte is still getting transition buckets, getting easy baskets in the paint, and winning 50/50 balls. The Heat got a couple of them towards the end of the quarter, but the Bobcats have the majority of them. That needs to change.
-
A decent 9 point lead heading into the half. As long as the Heat force Charlotte to shoot jumpers, and the Heat attack the basket offensively, they should keep their lead and win this game.
-
2-3 zone is giving the Bobcats trouble. 14 point lead for the Heat in what looks like is heading into a blow out in Charlotte. Let's see if things change after this time out.
-
The Heat are knocking down shots, yet the Bobcats are winning 50/50 balls and beating them in transition. I don't like what I'm seeing so far, the Heat need to step it up defensively.
-
The Bobcats are an example of how far coaching goes to make a team from good to great, or in this case, from bad to good. The Heat need to outsmart and outhustle the Bobcats in order to win.

Current team, whether they make the finals or not.

How much would you pay for Rudy Gay?
Poe replied to La Bomba's topic in Memphis Grizzlies Team Forum
Rudy Gay will most likely hit FA to see if he can squeeze as much money as possible. Knowing their history of overpaid players, I can see the Knicks offering him a max. -
I guess we should just agree to disagree on this physicality vs skill argument, cause it's all opinion-based until Kobe and Bron finally play one on one.
-
BTW, taking into account that Charlotte is 1 game behind the Heat, Chicago .5 games behind, Toronto 1 game ahead of the Heat, and Milwaukee is 1.5 games ahead... all 4 teams including Miami are playing at the same day. Chicago plays Utah, Toronto plays the Lakers, Milwaukee is playing the Celtics, and the Bobcats are playing the Heat. This is one exciting night
-
Lets go Utah!
-
And I don't remember too many instances where Kobe had trouble guarding LeBron due to athleticism and length.
-
Let's go Celtics!
-
Kobe has much more moves in his bag of tricks than LeBron.
-
Let's go Lakers!
