Doesn't sound bad on paper but... it's bad. I wouldn't do it if were on the Celtics' end.

Grading On A Curve: NBA Team Grades At The Break
Poe replied to Erick Blasco's topic in General NBA Discussion
Regardless of what people thought, the Heat are projected to win 45 games this year... just two more than last year with the same team plus three veteran additions (Alston, Arroyo, Richardson). Your B+ grade is very, very generous. And the Raptors and Heat are two different teams. Sure, if you take away Wade from the Heat, their record will drop considerably. If you take away Bron from the Cavs, you can expect the same result. The Heat are a defensive-oriented with offensive options meant to compliment the best player, while the Raptors are offensive oriented team with multiple creators. And also, the situation for taking away players for both the Raptors and the Heat are very different. With a team like the Heat, their defense will keep them in games. With the Raptors, their depth will keep them in games. -
I think Jamison would actually be the better fit if used as a sixth man. Again, he's more versatile than Haslem, so I think it could work very well. Plus, I think it evens out both the bench and the starting line up by having Wright start and Jamison off the bench. Though Amare would be the better deal, I simply don't trust him against bigger bodies. I think his lacking at the defensive end versus his offensive abilities would hurt the Heat more than help, unless he plays his natural position, which would mean keeping O'Neal.. and the Heat already said they don't want to trade Beasley. So if the Heat somehow manage to snag Amar'e with BOTH O'Neal AND Beasley, that would force Bease to play the 3... so somebody is going to be outmatched regardless of what trade they make that doesn't include sending Beasley away. And again, with Wade, Beasley, Amar'e, AND O'Neal in the starting line up, there won't likely be enough shots to go around, plus a liability at the wing defensively. If the Heat have Amar'e playing center, then we have a little mismatch problem regardless. If the Heat trade Beasley, that puts even more pressure on the Heat in 2010, with the nightmare possibility of having nothing left but Daequan Cook and James Jones. As far as fitting with the Heat goes, Jamison > Amar'e, but only as long as the Heat keep O'Neal, Beasley, and Wright, and Jamison is used as a sixth man.

The Heat can lose Haslem if they are keeping O'Neal. They HAVE to at least keep one or the other. Anyway, I don't know how thrilled I would be for the Heat to get Antawn while having Beasley at the same time. It's difficult to imagine chemistry-wise, since both players get their offense almost the same way (from what I know). Plus, the Heat already have JO who demands his shots, and Beasley who's the 2nd option regardless, and not to mention Wade getting an automatic 20+ shots per game. Q-Rich and Haslem for Jamison is still a good deal nonetheless. I suppose it could work in the rotation if Jamison becomes a scorer off the bench with Wright starting at 3. It would work a lot better than having Haslem off the bench since Jamison is more versatile, and it would allow Beasley to play his natural position full time.

You underestimate Wright's upside. He needs to be kept as part of the core of this team moving forward.

Terry Will Be 6th Man So Butler Can Start

New it. Haywood is starting too, right? -
They won't trade Beasley. I'm almost guaranteed on that. Haslem would be a tough loss, but I can actually see it happening. It would free up more time for Beasley and Amare. I'd still REALLY hate to see him go, though. I'm not denying Wright as a possibility. He's actually more likely to be traded than Haslem. Thing is, I don't think people realize how good this kid can become. He almost had a triple double the other night against Houston. Had he gotten more minutes, he probably would have gotten it. He's a great all around player who is both a feeder and a creator, and compliments Wade's game so well. Hopefully he'll be in the starting line up after the all star break (if not traded away..). On the Heat's side, the much more favorable players to trade other than O'Neal are Q-Rich, Cook, Jones, Magloire, Arroyo, and maybe even Chalmers. Problem is, none of them are attractive pieces, unless the other teams are willing to take a chance at Cook and Chalmers, or even thinks Jones is as valuable as his contract, or if they are in a real need for a big body like Magloire. Whatever happens, I just hope none of the trades include Haslem OR Wright. I think most Heat fans can agree with me there.

I still wonder how well Beasley and Amar'e can co-exist, and Amare's ability to guard elite centers for a team that puts defense above everything. Well, if Riley continues to pursue this trade anyway, aside from Beasley, at least the three main guys I hope he doesn't trade are: Wade (duh), Haslem, and Wright. Wade for obvious reasons. Haslem because he's been on this team for so long, he's very loyal, and he and the Heat have done so much for each other. That, and his willingness to do whatever it takes for the better of the team, even if it means a lesser role for himself... I'd be very disappointed to see him go. Wright because of his unique upside. The Heat have spent 6 years developing him, and to throw away all that talent just to watch him blossom elsewhere, it simply wouldn't be a smart move. According to PER, Wright is already the 4th best player on this team behind Wade, O'Neal, and Beasley, and his game will only continue to grow as the year goes on. Riley should really consider him as a part of the core on this team.

D. Wade: 28 points, 11 assists, 6 rebounds, 5 steals L. James: 25 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 4 steals *dreams*

So you got.. The King Superman Flash Black Mamba Include Krypto-Nate, and that's a super hero dunk show... gimmick heaven.
-
Cavs should have had one or two 3 point shooters, but that's it. Neither Mo nor Shaq deserve all star recognition.
-
They should run on a treadmill in the locker room right before the competition starts or something. Like after watching Crash miss a simple reverse dunk... I know he jumps WAY higher in games.
-
Just wondering, but do players warm up before attempting their dunks? Some of the dunkers looked really flat out there yesterday.

LeBron won't come to Miami this summer, no matter if the Cavs get Amar'e or not. He'll remain on the Cavs team for most or even all of his career. Plus, I wouldn't want to pair Amar'e with Beasley, anyway. Two players who play the same positions, and I don't trust Amar'e to guard centers like Howard, Bynum, and Perkins. Also, I'm perfectly content with Beasley remaining in the Heat's future. His upside is favorable for him to stay for a long time and be this team's franchise PF. He's also cheaper, which would leave room to sign a guy like Joe Johnson, who I believe has a realistic chance of leaving the Hawks. And if Wade somehow leaves, though that is by no means an ideal scenario, Bease would at least be the Heat's back up plan, and he's a perfectly capable #1 option.

Damn pot smokers. -
Miami Herald Wow, I thought the Heat were pursuing a trade including Beasley for Stoudemire because the articles said "nobody is pushing harder on this than Riley". Remind me to never believe any rumors about the Heat unless there are direct quotes from Pat Riley himself.

The president said himself that this isn't a Christian nation. Sure, religion has a huge affect on us, as well as the whole world. But just because the majority believe it, I wouldn't call it a Christian nation, nor would I call it a white nation.
-
It relates because religion and the censorship of the human body is entirely connected.
-
So, by that standard, we are also a white women nation.

The Raptors are having a successful year. I'd stick to what's working. -
