It doesn't matter, they are all going to be lottery picks. Maybe Harris drops to mid 1st round, but Motijunas and Vesely are both going to be taken in the lottery and may even end up in the top 10 depending on how they do in work outs and whether or not all of the best college players enter the draft.

One thing that I do have to say is that if Griffin had completed his first two dunks on the first tires, they would've both been absolutely ridiculous and some of the best dunks ever in the contest. Too bad they were just impossible to do. Guy is definitely a freak of nature to even come close to being able to complete some of the crap he tried in the first round (particularly the first one as he wasn't really close on the 2nd dunk).
-
His first dunk was better than Griffin's 2nd. It was basically the exact same dunk except DeRozan went between his legs and Griffin did a windmill. DeRozan's was more difficult and he took less attempts to complete it. I don't really see how DeRozan only deserved a 44 on his dunk and Griffin got a 46 for his.
-
Understandable. I think how easy he made it look was part of what made it so special, but I can understand where you are coming from. Why are you singling me out when I haven't even mentioned it? I thought it was very impressive, deserved a couple of 10's but the free throw line dunk it just too overused considering how many people have done it (Jordan, Dr. J, Carter, Smith, Barry, Moon just off of the top of my head) so I can understand why he didn't get a 50. It was the most impressive free throw line dunk ever done, but that dunk has lost it's appeal.

He deserved it, though. McGee's 3rd dunk was nice (1st of the 2nd round), but his awful 4th dunk pretty much killed any chance he had of winning it. As underwhelmed as I was with Griffin's car dunk (again, presentation was nice, dunk was meh), it still blew McGee's last dunk out of the water. I also really enjoyed Griffin's 3rd dunk as well. Thought that was very impressive. I do agree with you a bit. The more well known player/fan favourite is always going to have an advantage over the lesser known player. Just like last year when Nate beat DeRozan in the fan vote. I thought Griffin deserved it a lot more than Robinson did last year, though.

I thought his 3rd dunk was more impressive than the first one that he did. I know that Carter did that before and all, but the lob combined with just how high he actually got was very impressive. I think DeRozan's 2nd dunk was the best of the night, though. I am bias in the fact that I am a Raptors fan and also think that a swingman dunking just looks better than a big, but I think I have a legit case in thinking that as well. That was very impressive. His first was very nice as well, but him being the first dunker and taking a couple tries to complete it due to Amir throwing some poor passes killed some of the momentum of it (although that didn't seem to effect Griffin's score, haha).
-
Who is complaining? We are just saying that we don't think what Griffin did was all that impressive. Creative? Sure. Impressive? Not really. I don't think that anybody actually gives a damn about who wins this contest anyways.
-
Not at all. I still think that the best dunks are the ones where the players just go up and dunk the ball. Give me DeRozan's 2nd dunk, McGee's 3rd dunk or Griffin's 1st dunk over any of these stupid "3 balls" and "2 hoops" gimmicky [expletive] any day of the week.
-
The dunk itself was pretty mediocore if you ask me. I would be willing to bet that at least around 90% of the NBA could do that dunk. The presentation was nice, don't get me wrong, but the dunk was hardly anything to get excited about.
-
Baron Davis poking his head out of the sun rook with a creepy [expletive] smile deserves a 50 all by its self.
-
Call me a homer (which I don't deny to being) but DeRozan was robbed. Anybody other than Blake Griffin does that 2nd dunk of his and he gets a 43-45 max considering it gets done about every year. McGee's were nice as well, but hardly worth a 99. His 2nd dunk was pretty meh to me, especially considering how he had to hang onto the rim to actually dunk the third ball. Not that I expected DeRozan to get out of the first round anyways, but I definitely think that he deserves it more. You knew that McGee and Griffin were going to get to the Finals unless they pulled a Chris Andersen.

2011 Three-Point Contest
Built Ford Tough replied to Legacy's topic in NBA All-Star Weekend Archives
2nd round has been a lot better. Too bad it is two Celtics and a Heat. Looks like the Heat finally beat the Celtics at something this season. About time. -
2011 Three-Point Contest
Built Ford Tough replied to Legacy's topic in NBA All-Star Weekend Archives
He won in 2001. Gibson and Durant were pathetic. Actually, everybody other than Allen was pretty bad. The only other remotely interesting part was seeing Pierce hit the last 3 in a row to advance. -
I got home last night at around 1:30 and what do I see? Erik Johnson, Jay McClement and a conditional 1st to the Avs for Chris Stewart, Kevin Shattenkirk and a conditional 2nd. Definitely didn't see a trade like this going done, especially at that time of night. A fitting trade to cap off a crazy day. As for the Kaberle deal, all I can really say is about damn time. Kabs was one of my favourite players on the Leafs for a long time, but it is about time that all of this trade drama around him has come to an end.

To add to that, he talked after the game about how disappointed he was that the fans boo him. He can play it off like he didn't care, but it is pretty clear that he was upset over his reception. I can't really add much more to it than that, though. I was writing a mid term while the game was on and I didn't see any of it.

His gimmick is terrible because it is way too watered down due to the PG rating. He had the same gimmick back in ROH and other Indies and he was cutting some of the best promos because the company actually let him completely run with the gimmick instead of watering it down like the WWE. Just because he can't be on the same level as arguably the best syuperstar in the history of wrestling doesn't mean that he would be a mid-carder or something like that. I'm not saying that he would be a Rock, Austin or Hogan type of figure, but I have no doubts in my mind that CM Punk would still be a huge superstar if he was around in the Attitude Era. He is just too talented not to be, and like I said before, I actually think that he would be even better in that Era because the PG thing holds him back.

Did MLSE Force a Raptor Rebuild?
Built Ford Tough replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
I don't know about all of his moves being about "rebuilding" (for lack of a better word). I think if he had his way the Raptors roster would look something like: C: Tyson Chandler PF: Andrea Bargnani/Boris Diaw SF: Matt Barnes/Linas Kleiza SG: DeMar DeRozan/Leandro Barbosa PG: Jarrett Jack/??? right now. Obviously things didn't work out with these deals due to Jordan pulling out at the last minute and them not realizing they have the cap room to offer Barnes a contract, but I think after losing Bosh he was trying to put together a team that could challenge for one of those bottom East playoff spots. I'm not saying that he would turn a deal down that would shed some salary or pick up a cheap prospect or something, but I don't know if I can say that was his main priority until it was pretty much forced upon him due to his other moves falling apart (or MLSE laying down the law). I don't know, though. I might just be too cynical when it comes to Colangelo. I don't claim to be impartial when it comes to him and I don't try to hide the fact that I don't like his appraoch to building a team. -
Don't know about The Miz or Swagger as I stopped paying attention to wrestling before they came around, but CM Punk has been one of the best wrestlers in the last 10 years. He just never got the hype of guys like HHH, HBK, Rock, Austin etc... because he wasn't with the WWE or WCW and was working the indies. Not only is he a great wrestler, but he is amazing on the mic and can be equally effective as both a heel and a face. If anything, the PG rating is holding CM Punk back from being as good as he can be. The man is brilliant at what he does. If guys like Jim Ross, HBK and other legends of the business are constantly praising him for his ability, you know the guy is great.
-
I wouldn't be surprised at all if this was true as it is exactly what I was expecting Colangelo to do all year long. Glad MLSE overruled him, if this is true. As much as I hate watching this team this season, it would be 100X worse as at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel (albeit, the light is a very bleak glimmer at the end of a very long tunnel) with this team. It also may be a reason why Brian Burke is suddenly trading for all of these draft picks for the Leafs. Maybe MLSE is actually concerned about building a contender instead of just making money?
-
I expected him to not trade a 24 year old winger with cup experience on a nice contract for what is basically a 2nd and 4th. What exactly is wrong with that? By the sounds of it, Versteeg pretty much wanted out of Toronto, though.

Magic prepared to make deadline offer for Z-Bo
Built Ford Tough replied to The Regime's topic in Orlando Magic Team Forum
Why not? He has done it plenty of times before. He anchored a team defense that consisted of Jameer Nelson, Hedo Turkoglu, Rashard Lewis and Mickael Pietrus/Courtney Lee to the best Defensive Rating in the entire NBA. Other than Howard, nobody would even be considered an above average player defensively and they were one of the best defensive teams in the league. Hell, this season they have guys like Nelson, Turkoglu, Arenas, Richardson, Lewis, Carter etc... and none of them are worth a damn defensively, yet they are 6th in OPPG and 3rd in DRTG. Howard has proven time and time again that he has the ability to anchor a team defense with a bunch of sieves around him. -
Versteeg to Philly for a 1st and 3rd in the 2011 draft. Brian Burke proving his GM brilliance yet again.

Brian Cook has almost single handedly lost this game for the Clippers. Why on earth has he taken (and airballed) the last 3 shots for the Clippers? Del Negro is awful and this is coming from a guy who has been forced to watch Jay Triano over the past 2.5 years.
