  1. It looked more like a matchup zone where they would keep somebody on Bargnani at all times but the other 4 were in a zone. It was really poorly executed, though as Barbosa was left wide open. Nice outlet from DeRozan to Bayless after the Westbrook turnover. The Thunder definitely look tired right now and are starting to play very poorly. They are forcing things on offense that is resulting in turnovers or they are chucking up jumpers early in the clock.
  2. Interesting decision from Brooks to put Collison on Kleiza and Sefolosha on Bargnani. Teams have ahd success with wing players on Bargs before, so it could be worth a shot. I would like to see the Raptors give Kleiza the ball in this situation a bit too, assuming the Thunder keep the matchup going. He isn't the best at creating his shot, but he can certainly take Collison off of the bounce, especially if he draws him out towards the three point line.
  3. Calderon has come out great so far in the 2nd. Nice steal on Westbrook to lead to a wide open dunk for Weems and he had a bullet of a pass to Jonson down low that resulted in a foul. 10 assists for him already and unlike the other night (Boston game, I think) they have been noticeable assists. Sloppy play from OKC so far, though. That was a brutal turnover to lead to the Young Gunz ally-oop.
  4. I think he is. I've noticed it a couple of times and wondered about it myself. It is good to see Mo Pete back on the floor in the ACC. I really enjoyed his time in Toronto and thought his final year in Toronto was handled really poorly. I was furious to see Colangelo going and and giving Kapono that contract instead of even thinking about re-signing Peterson. I know he is basically done as a productive player, but it is still nice to see him on the floor again. PS: James Harden's beard =
  5. Pretty entertaining 1st quarter from both teams. Watching Westbrook slicing through the Raptors defense was very enjoyable (at least from a fans perspective) and Ibaka had a very impressive block on DeRozan. The Raptors had quite a few nice plays of their own with the Calderon/Johnson oop, DeRozan spinning past Harden, hanging in the air and finishing around Collison and some nice step backs and fadeaways from Bargnani. Raptors doing a fantastic job on the glass so far, though. They've outrebounded the Thunder 14-6 so far
  6. Westbrook vs. Calderon has been a fun matchup so far during the first 8 minutes tonight. Both doing a nice job of breaking the defense down to create open looks for their teammates, while contributing with their own offense as well. Very questionable charge on Weems there. Collison was above the restricted area, but he definitely looked like he wasn't set. Tough call, though.
  7. So I have an Excel project due Sunday nigh for a pre-req computer class and I am pretty much clueless with Excel (computers in general, really). Anybody on here good at using Excel that I would be willing to help me, assuming I need it, which I probably will?
  8. Raptors better not steal this game without Durant in the lineup (he is out, right?). Hopefully Westbrook completely dominates Calderon.
  9. This is true, but the backlash from LeBron leaving was so much more intense than the backlash from Carter leaving. I don't buy for a second that Cavs fans were holding back from booing him because deep down they knew he didn't do anything wrong or something like that. Sure, the game being a blow out is a legit excuse (but even then, I wasn't too impressed with them when the game started and was close, but it is hard to really tell when you aren't there). At the end of the day, I definitely think that Cleveland fans were just as pissed off at LeBron as Raptor fans were at Carter, maybe even more so and, because of that, I think the situations are basically comparable. I actually really don't care, though. I was just joking around when I made this thread last night. Personally, I like this one considering it was about 30 minutes after the game had finished: (starts 40 seconds in) I think this was Game 2 of the Raptors/Nets playoff series. I think they both may be from the same game, actually.
  10. Wasn't exactly sure where to put this as it could go in 3 different team forums or the General NBA board, so if anybody thinks this should go in a different forum, I'll move it. Anyways... Oh man, this is like winning the NBA Championship. Raptor fans are better at being jilted lovers. I'm touched.
  11. I sure as hell hope not. I want to see him finally embrace the villian role and completely [expletive] with everybody everywhere he goes.
  12. Spurs by far. Tony Parker, Tiago Splitter, Manu Ginobili, Goran Dragic, Luis Scola, George Hill, John Salmons, James Anderson, Beno Udrih and Leandro Barbosa all taken within the last 10 or so years, despite them not having a single pick better than 20th overall. It isn't even close, really.
  13. I'll take Joey Graham. http://img2.imageshack.us/img2/9821/graham.jpg Dude is just scary.
  14. Ernie with the line of the night. "With the way the game is going, the current Cavs will carry him off the court on their shoulders." Hopefully Scott tore Gibson a new one during half time. It was absolutely sickening seeing him and James joking and laughing every single time there was a dead ball. I understand that they are still friends and all, but I would lose it if I was Scott and saw Gibson doing that non stop.
  15. Has Mo Williams ever played well in a hyped up game? He just completely folds when their is any sort of pressure.
  16. Honestly, this is pathetic. Either they have basically put the crowd on mute, or they are nowhere near as good as they were hyped up to be (I'm guessing it is the former). You can't even hear anything at all and the atmosphere is no different than a normal regular season game.
  17. I agree with this. I remember watching Carter's return to Toronto and there were times that you literally couldn't even hear the announcers because of how loud the crowd was. It was just awesome. I'm kind of disapointed with how much they've killed the crowd noise. Also, gotta love the chorus of boos for James followed immediately by a nice round of applause for Z.
  18. I love Barkley. I'm so glad that this is on TNT. The only way that this could be better, at least in terms of presentation, is if JVG was calling the game.
  19. Raptors have had their fair share of infamous returns. Damon Stoudemire, Tracy McGrady, Antonio Davis and, obviously Vince Carter. You'll be able to add Bosh to that list later on this year. What made Carter's return to Toronto even better was just the fact that he consistently broke the hearts of Raptor fans by draining the game winning three, hitting a three to send the game to OT and then a game winning ally oop and, of course, eliminating the Raptors in the first round a couple years ago. Those crowds were just phenomenal, though. Although I was too young to see it when it happened, Eric Lindros' return to Quebec City was pretty awesome. From the fans dressing as babies to the pacifier Stanley Cup. I also really enjoyed the returns of Mats Sundin and Darcy Tucker when they came back to Toronto. Sundin's was really well done and it was only fitting to see him win the game for Vancouver in a shoot-out. As for Tucker, his wasn't made out to be a big deal, but I thought it was great to see the video package they played for him during an intermission and seeing him tear up on the bench was cool.
  20. Anybody see the shirts that the Cavs were handing out? They are basically the same as that Check my $tats (black instead of white) shirt that LeBron wore a few years ago, but instead of saying Check my $tats, they say Kiss my A$$ LeBron. EDIT: I found this one another forum and if true, wow. That is brutal.
  21. I definitely plan on getting it, but I'm pretty broke right now as I had to buy insurance at the end of November, have tuition and textbooks to buy for the winter semester of school and Christmas coming up, so I don't see myself getting it for the forseeable future.
  22. What I don't understand is how he went from having a very good mid range game in college to being such an unreliable shooter in the NBA. He scored almost all of his points off of mid range jumpers in college but has been brutal when it comes to shooting the ball in the NBA. He will have games like the one last night where he shows signs of a very solid jumper, but then will put up brick after brick for the next 5 games. Games like this one are encouraging, though. He was showing very nice touch on his jumper and hit some nice shots curling off of screens and, perhaps most impressive, was he was hitting shots from 20+ feet away from the hoop. His jumper is the key to his game. When it is on, he usually puts up 15 points at least because it opens up his entire offensive aresenal. He definitely needs to continue to work on that and hopefully develop some consistency with it.
