  1. This is why people hate Lakers fans. Give me 10 random Lakers fans, and 6 of them will say that Andrew Bynum is better than Dwight Howard.
  2. Oh, sure, be all smug about it. Really, I wish I could have seen Barkley play.
  3. C- Amare Stoudemire PF- Shawn Marion SF- Joe Johnson SG- Jason Richarson PG- Steve Nash Ok, so I started watching basketball in 2004. Sorry.
  4. Yeah, but people today have more drugs and cell phones. So, there. Bonus: If someone has no idea how a cell phone works (I don't mean how to use it; I mean how it works), can he really use it to support his claim of people being more intelligent?
  5. People always ask: Is Iverson on the decline, or is he still a high-level player? It's ridiculous to pick just one of those options. Yes, Iverson is over the hill. But when you're NBA MVP, leading roleplayers to the Finals, you can afford to fall quite a ways and still be an exceptional player.
  6. The world is not a LOT different than it was a thousand years ago. Just because you have an ipod and smoke pot does not make you smarter than people from years past. Sorry.
  7. It never ceases to amaze me how dozens of player can be solid role players, get shipped to Phoenix, and suddenly play great. Then people are amazed. Steve Nash has pulled career seasons out of Quentin Richardson, Shawn Marion, Amare Soudemire, Raja Bell, Boris Diaw, Leandro Barbosa, Tim Thomas, Jumaine Jones, and Louis Amundson. Then Channing Frye gets the same boost, and the world is amazed.
  8. If we're talking about holding on to players, I want Rondo and Deng back.
  9. It's too bad Nash is washed up. He barely had 20 assists to go with his 18 points. I guess that's what age does to a player. So sad.
  10. Do you read Charley Rosen? Your articles feel a bit like his. And he also thinks Deron Williams is better than Chris Paul. For the record, I agree. I don't much like Chris Paul as "the best screen/roll player in the NBA." I realize that he's much more physically gifted than Nash, but he's also more predictable. Of course, I've seen Steve Nash play many hundreds of times, and might be unfairly biased. Excellent list. Not many basketball writers use "eviscerate" in their articles.
  11. It's Grant Hill. I'm sure about this one. Barbosa brings excellent offensive punch. He has a superior outside shot, he's insanely fast, and finishes well at the rim. However, he has no ability to run an offense as a point guard. So, we have to play him with a true point man, which results in size mismatches. In the 2008 playoffs, we lost game 1 to the Spurs because Michael Finley took Leandro apart (4-for-4 in the last few minutes, if I remember correctly). Grant Hill is not as explosive, but I credit him for playing at least acceptable defense. He has a very respectable jumper, and runs the floor well. Factor in his size advantage over Barbosa (5 inches), and you're dealing with a more complete, more valuable player.
  12. Isn't it a bit early to calls Rose the best of all-time at anything? Anyway, I'll say Jason Williams. Granted, I never saw Tim Hardaway play.
  13. Is it cheating to say Deron Williams? He's never been an all-star. But in the the spirit of the question, I'll say J.R. Smith. He can score like crazy, and more importantly, create his own shot. And his ego would be a non-issue considering how laid-back the Bobcats are in general. If J.R. Smith declared himself the best player in franchise history, nobody (with the exception of Raja Bell)would raise any flags.
  14. No. You've seen enough basketball to know that old heads beat young legs (at least, until they're older than these Spurs). Would you trade the Kobe you have now for 23-year old Kobe? He could jump higher and run faster. He would also be an uncoachable crybaby that would rather have his molars removed than pass the ball. The Spurs are still a legitimate championship contender. And given that they have the best scouting in the league (no contest), that's not going to change for a while.
  15. I just about died at the Bucks logo. Nice find.
  16. I wonder what Goran Dragic ate for breakfast this offseason. He was nothing more than useless last year. He's been oddly...good.
  17. In 2004, perhaps? MVP Nash and All-NBA Stoudemire played on the Suns that had the best regular season record in the league. And except for this past season, the Suns have been excellent ever since. Had it not been for arbitrary discipline decisions, they likely would have won the championship in 2007. And Nash was on a Wheaties box.
  18. Yes. And I can still dunk. Too much fast food can be an issue, but if you exercise a lot and eat healthy things along with it, it's not as significant as it's made out to be.
  19. If (comparison to taylorSwift) { Bool jokeTopic = 1; }
  20. I'm relatively sure that Robin Lopez will be starting center, with Channing Frye on the bench. I do know that Lopez is injured for the moment, though, so Frye is likely the man for opening night.
  21. There is no amount of paperwork that leads to stress worth $10 million per.
