  1. I think DeRozan is the 3rd best player in this draft (quote me on that). Some games? No, I think he should be a regular starter,
  2. I was just wondering a few things about rap and hardcore music. 1. Why do rap albums "feature" other artists so frequently? If I look at the back of a rap CD at Wal-mart, the majority of tracks say "feat. SmoKe DeTeCtOr" or something. Including the random names with random capitalization. Is there a reason for this? 2. What's the difference between hardcore, metalcore, Super Saiyan core, whatever? It sounds like people started calling their music hardcore. But soon there were so many "hardcore" people, that they wanted to sound tougher. "You're hardcore? Well, I'm metalcore!" Is there a difference? Thanks.
  3. It's the truth. Winning the championship is not something that can be done alone. And if it's that reliant on teamwork, then it's not a very good measure of a single player's worth. Besides, if it weren't for NBA executives being thundering morons, the his Suns would have won the title in 2007.
  4. You thought of "White Castles", but not "Taco Bell?" And the best fast food place is "Cookout," but I've never seen one outside of Carolina.
  5. I'm going for Vince Carter. For reasons that will never be clear to me, people will always forget about a player if he's 30 years old and on a bad team. I gather that the consensus opinion is that Vince Carter is done for. After all, he couldn't lead such a wonderful Nets team to the playoffs. He might as well retire. The truth is that Vince Carter is still a devastating offensive player. He's not a defensive stopper, though he's not a liability either. The problem is that Vince might quickly become demotivated. It doesn't help that he'll be one of the oldest players on this Orlando team. The Magic would do well to get their own Antonio McDyess to keep Carter in prime mental condition. In fact, I wonder if they could hire a "special assistant" who's sole responsibility is forcing Vince Carter to work like a professional athlete. I think Mr. T. is a free agent.
  6. I really need to work on my reading comprehension. My crippled mind read this as an evaluation of the Bobcats as a defensive-minded team. Apparently, it's more productive to compare this 35-47 team to the current NBA champion Lakers. The Bobcats aren't as good as the Lakers. They still play exceptional defense. Kudos to both parties for bringing to light a few of the more obvious things in basketball.
  7. I bet you could get more. Would you let go of Howard for Ilgauskas, Leon Powe, and cash? That would be good for Dallas, and I could see Cleveland doing it.
  8. If this goes down, they should trade Josh Howard for a center. I hear Zydrunas Ilgauskas is available. C- Zydrunas Ilgauskas PF- Dirk Nowitzki SF- Shawn Marion SG- Stephen Jackson PG- Jason Kidd And bringing Jason Terry off the bench. That's realistically a championship squad.
  9. How about Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard?
  10. I wonder if there's a correlation between: 1. Level of someone's education 2. That person's tendency to listen to rap. Maybe not a good business move for Wayne.
  11. 1. Magic Johnson 2. Oscar Robertson 3. John Stockton 4. Steve Nash
  12. T-Mac qualifies if you just mean this half of the decade. I'll take Kwame Brown. First high school player drafted with the first pick and...this. EDIT: Also, Kenyon Martin and Austin Croshere. Mostly because they're the worst contracts I can think of off the top of my head. EDIT 2: And Raef Lafrentz.
  13. Go for the Blackberry. It's really an excellent piece of technology.
  14. http://xkcd.com/ This is the best comic ever. Read some of them.
  15. Just because they're popular doesn't mean they're good at making computers. It means they're good at marketing. Yes, Macs don't crash as much. They also aren't so susceptible to being whacked by malicious software (though they are not invincible like most Mac users believe). Those are its advantages. They simply don't outweigh the disadvantages.
  16. Except for a keyboard that feels like a toy, and tragic battery life.
  17. That would be the Pau Gasol trade. Kobe's rape scandal was unexpected, but not shocking. We all knew the kind of character that Kobe had (has). The Pistons loss comes in second, but the internal feuding plagued the Lakers to no end. Watching Memphis just throw an all-star at the Lakers for nothing, however, was not short of unbelievable. I would not have seen that coming if I had a thousand guesses.
  18. Lenovo Thinkpad W700ds. http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/special-offers.workflow:ShowPromo?LandingPage=/All/US/Landing_pages/ThinkPad_notebooks/2008/W700/W700ds That's the best thing you can get, period. Don't go for the Mac.
  19. While you're at it, could you change the Kobe banner? http://freeraja.com/Free%20Raja/Images/nba_kobe_bell_195.jpg
  20. Completely true. But no matter how well he does here in Phoenix, it's always going to sting that the Mavericks were willing to let him go. It hardly helps that they threw gobs of money at, say, Erick Dampier. But even if they didn't...he was no MVP, but he played well enough with Dallas that he had to feel pretty valuable. But, like you said. It's worked out pretty well so far.
