  1. Afflalo is a little easier on the eyes, Lopez isn't a talent that is that rare to come by IMO. He is easily replaceable. And MarShon Brooks is not efficient at all, he's got the potential to be a decent shooting guard but I'd much rather Afflalo.
  2. We'll never know. I'm guessing Hennigan is rebuilding from the free agency and draft, if so this trade was our best option.
  3. Lopez on a max deal for how many years?? 4 or 5 isn't exactly my idea of cap relief. Nor rebuilding.
  4. + People are ceasing to realize the whole plan of why we where trading. Hennigan is aware that he could've gone ahead with the Nets deal but it lands us in mediocrity for the next 5 years and it just leaves us back at square one. The whole deal was designed to get cap relief and a few young players. We're starting from scratch and gonna work again to become a contender , it's a risky move but it's gonna pay off if it's executed correctly. I think we pulled on this trade because it's obvious we need to rebuild and we're already looking to this years draft. If we land the number 1 pick this year or even the number 2 things will be looking a lot better.
  5. Afflalo isn't that bad of a player, I don't like his contract but in the long term I think he's part of the Magic. Harrington will be dealt by the start of the season mark my words. His last 2 years are 50% guaranteed so I'd imagine that his going to be bought out by the end of this season if nothing falls into place. We lost Richardson/Duhon which is good enough for me. Now if Hennigan can move Qrich for some cap relief I'm gonna be even happier.
  6. I've always questioned the validity of that though. Seriously if they had a deal similar to what was said he obviously would've executed with it. But he didn't. Hennigan obviously isn't that dumb. He's taking the best offer we could get. I think we potentially could've gotten better, but it's not that bad. In short, I don't even think the Rockets talks where that big.
  7. The Houston deal fell through because they signed their rookies. And because we're doing a complete rebuild the only good thing coming out of that trade was Humphries expiring 1 year deal, Brooks and the future picks... Lopez is a burden. I'll post what I did on another forum because I can't be bothered rewritting. But after sleeping, the trade really isn't that amazingly bad. Hate all you want but we did what we wanted to do and we've got flexibility for the future. So it's official. Magic officially get: Aaron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Mo Harkless, Nikola Vucevic, Josh McRoberts, Christian Eyenga + Multiple First round picks. Alright, so Al Harrington after this season is only owed 50% of his last two years. I'm guessing that the Magic buy him out or something? Hedo Turkoglu I guess was staying because he's a good trading piece come next season because it's obvious we're prolonging this rebuilding period to a space of 2 years. I'd imagine that a team that wants cap relief and still a decent role player will make a trade for him. Josh McRobert's contract is ending at the end of this season so that's more money off the books unless we resign him. Which we may do. I sure as hell hope that Afflalo balls this season, his gonna have the opportunity to potentially be the top guy (unless Jameer Nelson) takes over the reigns. Lemme mention this though guys after a little research - he averaged 19 ppg shooting 55% and 45% 3pt in the last 20 or so games, that's some pretty mean stats. Harkless better be a beast, I hope he actually starts. Him/Afflalo I'm hearing are going to be a good perimeter defensive duo, I'm guess he's gonna have all the opportunity in the world. Vucevic I haven't seen play so can't really comment on him. I guess I'm changing my mind, the trade isn't that bad. We get rid of Duhon/JRich's contract and we get some young talent and draft picks. Was that not the original plan? Plus we've got a little flexibility in our cap. By the end of next season we should be way under the cap. And have 2 top 5 draft picks under our belt. Really looks like we are following the whole Thunder perspective on things. I hope everything pans out.
  8. Definitely comes across as a really smart person. I hope he brings a "Spurs-like" affect on the Magic and I hope he plays the younger guys. We're obviously in tanking mode now. It's gonna be a fresh breath of air seeing our guys play with heart and play something different then the whole inside/out game.
  9. I blame serious unluckiness. I guess you can't control a players wants. But seriously the Magic have been unlucky when it comes to superstars.
  10. Good or bad? I'm cut between the two.
  11. Shaw is out because of it's apparently "no dwight, no coaching job." Apparently that rumor wasn't true (when is a rumor true nowdays).
  12. Yeah, I'm just eager to get him out of the franchise and get this fresh start. I just want a sense of direction. It'd be great when all this is over.
  13. My mind changes so frequently when it comes to this type of thing. One moment I feel a trade is in the works, then another time I feel like he's gonna play out this season. I think it's obvious he's gonna go to the Rockets though. Mind may change again soon, just like Dwights.
  14. www.clickorlando.com/sports/Butch-Carter-to-be-next-Magic-coach/-/1636890/15526026/-/cj05ebz/-/index.html Buch Carer came out of nowhere, not 100% sure how valid this source is but does a Raptors fan want to fill me in? BFT?
  15. I'm feeling more and more like the Magic aren't gonna deal Dwight before the season starts. I hope we do. Henny was saying the talks where 'stationary' in a press conference today. So I really don't know what to think.
  16. Surprised to say the least, I hope its nothing like his last contract.
  17. Also... Still hoping for Brian Shaw. But there's a nice group of people there.
  18. Bosh/James where dealt via sign and trade.
  19. Most intrigued by what Houston has to offer. Truth is that every team is lowballing us right now. Dwight's obviously not gonna get his way and get a trade to the Nets. I hope that Hennigan knows what he's doing and hopefully does the best trade possible. Right now, it looks like we're not gonna get even close to the value of Dwight. (I wasn't expecting us too.) But it's a lot worse than I thought.
  20. Yeah he was preaching a little security though. He knew once Dwight left he'd be the next to go, he wants control of location so he can prepare. I guess he prizes that over everything. Potentially he's following Dwight though.
  21. I don't mind him. I know he wasn't exactly injured last season but it's gonna linger in my mind. I've mentioned it numerous times around the web, I want to start from complete scratch. I think Bynum alone with our current roster will still get us a 7th-8th seed (the conference is that weak) I'd rather tank a year and get a top pick.
  22. I've always wondered how affective he'll be off the bench. He could be a Jason Terry-type guy that gives you scoring off the bench. He's undersized for the 2, and he's really not a point guard. He'd be best suited as some 'instant-offense' off the bench. I wish him luck for the future, he had a nice run with the Magic. But it's time for change.
  23. I actually can't wait until he's gone. I'm done with the Dwight era. Let's rebuild from scratch. It's hilarious though, I hope they nullify his opt-in. The sooner he's gone the better. But I'd still much rather explore a trade for him.
  24. Beat me to the post. Looks like the Magic are gonna look a lot different next season. I pray we don't have Duhon starting though. Lol.
  25. I'm hoping its from complete scratch, I don't care if we scrap the entire team to be honest. I just want some cap space. I've come to terms of being a lottery team for the next 3-4 years atleast. It's gonna be a long few years. However I'm eager to see what moves we got instore.
